Then even the weakest opponent will be able to completely obliterate her. The cursed ARMs have only made her strong for a certain period of time, in the end they will make her the weakest competitor. Loco has been tricked or rather she has tricked herself. She was so desperate to become strong that she never considered just what the effect on her would be and just blindly assumed she could handle it. In the end she will destroy herself and she is sleepwalking into that.
She does, in fact, eventually de-age herself to infancy. Only, it's not to win a fight in any tournament. She reached the point where she didn't have enough magic left, and using them more would be it, and stopped fighting (she was looking for something that would either let her use them without de-aging or would re-age her, I believe)... but then, right when she was about to get her hands on what she needed, she noticed that her only actual friend was about to be killed. Suffice it to say, by the time said friend woke up, she had a baby to raise.

It's implied that most people she tries that on die with the first nail anyways, so she might not be used to people actually staying up like that (or might like to see how many nails it takes for the shock & phantom pain themself to kill the target, she's implied to have a bit of a sadistic streak IIRC). And when he showed her that he could break out of her paralysis, she just panicked and stopped strategising altogether, so actual planning was out the window at that point.

It has been shown that Loco held some form of compassion despite the emotionally dead look in her eyes of not caring about anything other than becoming stronger to survive. And this is proven through her actions when saving that annoying neko girl when she was about to be crushed to death, disregarding her goal to undo her curse when she knows she won't have another opportunity like that again. I kinda like Loco's character. There seems to be more to her mysteriously aloof character than what we initially see. Iirc, her backstory wasn't revealed that much aside from her acquiring the cursed ARMS. We don't even know how she came about joining the Chess no Koma.
The big thing to note about Loco is that she's a bit of a defrosting ice queen, @@Evil_Beauty; she becomes kinder over time, as Chaton's attempts at friendship help her warm up to other people. She _is_ the type of person who would use a cursed magic voodoo doll that de-ages her when she uses it (and that she's already seen kill its previous user) just for more power, albeit mainly to survive the battlefield, after all. She even outright says that she wants to see how much Nanashi can endure before he dies. Really, the heart of it is that she suppressed her emotions to survive, and grew calloused as a result. Chaton's (to Loco) gratingly annoying presence essentially grinds the callouses away, slowly shining the gem underneath the dirt. As does being spared by Nanashi here; she learns full well that not every enemy is out to kill her before she can kill them, and it seems to shake her to the core. It's very possible that her apparent sadism here is a coping mechanism for the horrors of war, and a result of adopting an "everyone will kill me if they get the chance, so I need to horrify them enough to leave me alone first"; note how terrified she is of the thought of someone just _resisting_ her paralysis Arm.

It is also hinted at that Nanashi, like Ginta, is an earthling who somehow got pulled into MAR Heaven. So, having him be the only one outside of Ginta able to do that makes sense lore wise.
