I think it's definitely improved. Five years ago, when I fell down while wearing a met parasuit, my jaw protector broke and my jaw was swept away, so I couldn't dare to use it after that.

Yep, its really hard to find a full face and half shell. I would just recommend getting a good deal on the Fox Proframe. I live in California and go up hills and its not much of an issue. Just gotta support it.I 👍👍👍
But the half face configuration is so ugly the proframe and I’ve seen it for €330 in the uk

The chin guard doesn’t cover the mouth, there’s very little protection.
Hi, thank you for your comment, the Parachute MCR is ASTM certified which is the only standard currently testing chinbars, the vent at the mouth is designed to improve breathability like all helmets in this category it is not intended as a DH full face. I hope this helps. Thanks, Danielle

Not really, it doesn't come apart at any point, plus both elements are DH certified.

its relativley light but i had it and it felt super flimsy and creaky plastic so i sent it back for a refund, not worth it in my opinion

I wouldn't interchange motorcycle and mtb helmets. They look the same, but actuallynare pretty different.

Absolute marketing rubbish! It's nearly impossible to reinstall the chin bar, even when cheating with a mirror. I could only pull it off by removing the helmet completely. Imagine being sweaty on the trail with your mates and doing this, how embarassing. There's nothing easy and instant about the "magnetic" design, it's all marketing lies.
I start to think that bicycle industry thinks mtb riders are mentally challenged from crashing and charge outrageous price for styrofoam helmet.
I paid $150 for Troy Lee designed mip dirt bike helmet. And $50 fox open face mtb helmet.
If we stop paying then the price wouldn't be so ridiculous.

Do not buy this helmet. The removable inner helmet pads (cushioning the head) come away from the velcro after only a few washes. So when that happens then you’re stuck with having to improvise by putting a sock or beanie inside your helmet as an ersatz “liner”. For a $450 piece of kit I was flabbergasted at how briefly those three pads lasted. Without those the helmet is useless. You can’t wear it without padding either - it’s far too uncomfortable. MET, please tell me where I can get replacement pads!

@@methelmets Dear MET, yes I can indeed confirm that every single piece of padded helmet liner has 'come away' from its velcro backing following washing in barely warm water, making them impossible to fasten inside the helmet. Thus I now have a $450 helmet which no inner cushioning whatsoever -- to all intents and purposes it's quite useless. The helmet is maybe 3 months old at most? Thanks for your reply, I shall email MET customer service together with some photos of what I'm talking about and a link to this comment. If you could kindly ship me a complete set of helmet liners I'd be glad to delete this public comment. I'm sure this is a 'one-off' occurrence too. I was just unlucky. Thanks.

I did communicate offline with MET and they sent me one set of replacement helmet liners. But I was so disappointed with the product that I just sold it off to someone. The helmet is also super huge when worn without the jaw piece. As a peaked cross country helmet is just doesn’t work, it’s so huge, and it just looks silly. I think the Fox helmet would be better maybe. Anyway I sold it for what I paid for it so thank god for that!
