Mines coming tomorrow, got it in gloss orange, ( I ordered red but got an email saying it was out of stock but it still let me order it) but I couldn’t be bothered to wait until March. I have been watching videos on this helmet for like 2 days😂 best video I have seen so far so thanks! Got mine for 192 from go helmets but I think most colours are out of stock now
Thanks so much mate. I was the same as you. I also debated the red. I really liked the white also but could only find it in large which ended up being too big. I didn't want to wait either so I went with the black. I think you'll be pleased with it. So far the build quality is stand out!
@@streetpigeonmtb yeah it’s just arrived! So pleased with how comfortable it is. I think it’s quite difficult to put the chin bar back on if the helmet is on your head but I already have a trail lid so it’ll stay in full face most of the time. But it’s better than expected. Just put a new video on of mine!
Be handy having that convertible when the warm weather comes! Always liked my MET parachute so will be interested to hear how the newer one is on the trails. No doubt good!
Yeah. I think it has to be. The helmet feels really well built and TBH I was happy with the £220 I'd paid as soon as I opened it. I am really keen to see how easy to use the chin is when I'm out on the trails. Thay will be the test for me 👍
Great review. The connections for the jaw guard worked beautifully. To take off or reattach my Bell, I have to take it off for sure. Sweet helmet. I wouldn’t go for matte black here though. Brains would be soup quickly.
Great helmet pal, wish you loads of crazy rides and progression with it 🙌. My problem with them is that many bike parks do not allow the use of them detachable chin ones .
Ah really? I think I'll hold onto my Proframe then just in case. Mind you, I think for some of the bike park stuff I'd be tempted to get a proper DH helmet. Some of the features these days are insane!
@@streetpigeonmtb yeah definitely. I always wear mine and never regret it once . Is just that little extra confidence that is needed sometimes 🤔😜. Keep it going mate glad you are good and healthy 👌
I just bought one today, 5th June, super comfy, nice fit. Just one problem. I saw on someone else’s review that one of the fasteners for the cheek pads broke away from the helmet. The reviewer(or it might have been in the comments) said he just superglued it back in. On the display model in the shop that I tried on, one of the fasteners had previously broken away from the helmet. When I got home I went to change the cheek pads and guess what. One of the fasteners for the cheek pads broke away from the helmet. I not going to bother returning it because it’s the only one they had, it is really comfortable and a great fit on my head and I get the feeling the same thing will happen to any replacement. Disappointing for such an expensive helmet. Can anyone recommend a good strong glue?
ive got mine two days ago and i have to say its very hard to put on the chinbar, the bits on the side dont want to snap in, i have to fiddle like more than a minute to get that on...
Hang in there. I take mine on and off about 10 times per ride and can do it no bother at all now. It's just muscle memory. You will definitely get it sorted 👍
Afraid not mate. It was a great helmet though. I got the hang of taking the chin on and off really quickly. The only issue I had was one of the pins on the release dial started to get a little loose after a couple of years so you had to keep an eye on it.
Hi, you dont have a problem with classic sunglasses? i have maybe a 4,5 type but in all sunglasses. I feel pressure on my temples. the only glasses that hold without pain are metal pilots
I've only tried riding glasses. This helmet is designed for glasses so there are cutaways so they don't dig into the sides of your head. I have a Fox Proframe and you can't wear glasses with that. I think for glasses some helmets just won't work 👍
Hello, do you have any experience to confirm that the removable chin will still protect and not break on impact? Im stillnot sure if its ok to use a helmet with removable chin, im planning to use it for enduro or maybe dh later on
I haven't crashed it but the helmet is DH certified. If you are worried check the tests that have been done on it. It has passed a good few tests. I've had 100% confidence in it. If I was just riding DH I might get a specific DH helmet but they are too heavy for Enduro. The light enduro helmets are great.
I hear you compare it with a fox helmet. Is it the Proframe helmet that you are referring to? If yes did you purchase the same size with the MET? thanks buds! Nice review!
I was comparing it with the Proframe. I feel like I had the Proframe in a large whereas I think I had the MET in a medium. Check the sizing, I found the MET measurements to be pretty accurate 👍
Hi mate. So I did look at it however it looked less vented round the chin and ears. The Proframe doesn't have any ear holes either and I was keen to have that for comfort but also to be able to hear my friends chat to me. The only other reserve I had was that I am not sure if the chin system looks as easy to install but TBF I have no real evidence of this. I've just looked at it now and it does look more heavy duty 👍
@@streetpigeonmtb yeah 100% the MET does appear to be easier to get on. Might end up siding with the Bell just because I will only use the chin 25% of the time for mental stuff so not too worried about venting. Cheers dude
Cracking first impressions video mate. Did you plan this out or was it off of the cuff? It flowed really well👌 I have a convertible helmet from a similar price point but I don’t particularly like it lol so I have my eye back on the market for a time when I have some spare cash. I like the fact you mentioned it comes in lots of colours👀👀👌
Hi bud. This was pretty much off the cuff. I have to quite a lot of this in my day job which helps. I also edited it a fair bit. I probably talked for 9/10 minutes in the original! Yeah, I'm hoping this turns out to be a worthwhile convertible as some of them just end up being more hassle than most riders want 🤙👍
Very good, but not perfect. I love the weight and the fit. Once you get used to the chin fixing it is very easy to take on an off, although it does require time and training to get to that stage. Two minor points... One of the pins in the fasteners works its way loose over time. I could probably get this done on warranty but haven't. The pads on the inside of the helmet need replacing. They get a bit smelly and one has torn. Hope that is helpful. Overall I'd defo still recommend it.
I have had at least one big crash and the chin stayed on. The only way it could come off is if one of the rotational fasteners failed. It seems like a pretty robust design to me 👍
I have a hard time to understand the main function of this visor. Got the same helmet and from my point of view the main function of the visor is to protect the face/eyes from the sun, isn't so? BUT, the funny thing is if I put the helmet on, I only see the front edge of the helmet. So the visor is way too far up and has no real function except holding the goggles in place, kinda bummer to me :/
I haven't had any issues? I'm not trying to sound patronising, but you know the visor has two positions? One up, for when you have your goggles up there, and down for when your goggles are on. You probably know that already. I can't say I've had any issues. Then again, I live in Scotland and there isn't much sun 🤣
@@streetpigeonmtb I definitely tried all positions of the visor and all I saw was only the edge of the helmet. I am starting to believe that my head shape is a bit alien 😅 But still this is the helmet I wonna have 👍
