Whatever it is, it isn't particularly accurate.
"Wealth" should be more like "cattle", and "judgement" can be more easily summarised as "honour"

Have been in the clean food world for 35 yrs. Working with small local farmers, created several prosperous Farmers Markets, and we never sold our soul to make the money. We said no to corporate more than people can imagine. Money by association, so they looked good. Never. Applaud you kind sir.

I now really hope that you will end up writing your own book about runes, not sponsored, in your own time, because it would be such an interesting read with your more unique insights. I hate reading generic books that only resummarise all the stuff I've already read in lots of other books, but your videos always have that certain something :)

You made the right choice. I would never be a part of a book project that I couldn't have full creative control over. Your name is attached to it forever...even if you didn't agree with the other half of the book! That's a recipe for disaster. Good move brother!

Yeah one of the main sections they had written was on divination, and the definition of each rune! How could I put my name behind so much information I have not reviewed!

It is irritating to me how people like myself Live a pagan lifestyle and then you have all these corporate heads taking every symbol and every holiday they can and instead of telling the truth of these things they twist it to hell and mislead the masses with it. I sincerely appreciate You and how you don't sellout your channel or us the peeps tuning in to this great community you have established. I would love for you to write a book just stay You brother. May the Gods and Goddesses watch over you. And by the way, if no one has said this yet I appreciate the honesty and devotion you give to this channel and to all of us that are a part of it. And Etsy is a great place to find real artisan jewelry and decor. Just be careful and yes check the shops out just because someone has a depiction of a deity from our faith doesn't mean they give two shites. Have a great day

As much as I do not like Amazon as a corporation, their ability to publish books early completely independently is something I very much like. And I hope its a sign of more people having the chance to have a voice. I am nearly half way done on my personal fiction novel around Yule. I will be publishing it through Amazon hopefully by the end of the year! And if it goes well, I will be writing more!

Thank you for sharing this. It’s not everyday we get an inside look of the corporate side of things especially in the TH-cam aspect and, in regards to paganism, I’ve been genuinely curious. Good eye catching that trap. $3000 for 60 days of work and barely any of it can be your genuine thoughts/experiences….I hope no one ever takes that deal.

I came across these cards about runes at Spencers a few years back and generic is exactly what I would call it. I wasn’t very knowledgeable of runes at the time, but Jera was/is very prevalent in my life and I was working with it at that time. When I saw that as the example on the back and how basic and so simple the meaning was it genuinely was infuriating.

I feel like these kinds of conversations need to happen a lot more. I love talking about the faith and the gods, but I think we need more content on how it relates to the world we currently live in. So much of our faith is centered around an older world that just doesn't exist anymore, and we need to start discussing how we can adapt to the current world and protect ourselves from the vampires who would bleed our faith dry for money.

I personally don't think it's inherently bad to care about money or wanted to make money out of something but I do agree that it's incredibly sad and irritating to get ripped off and seeing how people want to take advantage of something dear to you like our gods or our faith. In the last few days I've seen an increase in norse paganism ads promoting oath rings, Mjölnir pendants and other products like those. They look incredibly great but they just seem like a scam or I really do not trust them because of the way they're popping up in my feeds.

Well that is terrifying. I'm picturing a bunch of pale, starved, humanoids in a cave, gathered around the all-knowing glowing cube, anxiously awaiting their next orders. And whenever it spits out what it wants next, they all scurry away like rats from under a dumpster, all of them desperate to be the first one to bring back a stack of cash for the All Mighty Algorithm.

Anything remotely popular, someone will try to commodify it in today's society. I was both surprised and a bit weirded out to see how much "witchcraft" stuff was in the tacky Spencer's Gifts in the mall amongst the band t-shirts and adult toys 😳
I just wonder how many are getting into it bc they're interested in the spirituality vs into the Witchtok aesthetic

I'm so glad you addressed this issue. Hi we visited before on Instagram. When I began my Pagan path back in 1989 there was very little items to be had. Llewellyn was just a paper flyer magazine. We all had to make our own jewelry etc. for the most part. I was in Barnes and Nobel recently and the general Pagan products and books was mind boggling.

You see this on Facebook where the ads are supposed to be pagan, but actually stealing from a pagan artist on Etsy. I always report it. I have to say that I came across some wonderful artists on DFO. Also, I constantly have come across fake pagans. To them it's the flavor of the month due to the blockbusters and the stupidity of it. Its sad and frustrating about the disrespect to our faith. I'm so glad you did this video so that people are aware what's going on. Sorry this is happening to you. I hope someone comes through for you in publishing a book. I definitely would buy it 😊. Again, great, informative video.

The first rule of doing business is to make money. There is nothing wrong with making money. Shady, poor business practices, and doing business without passion for the business you are conducting (like this corporation that contacted you) are terrible ways to make money. Imagine if they had spent, just a small amount of time researching you, and instead offered you a deal where you would be able to write what you want, and they would provide the support and advise. With your publicity from your channel, they'd have locked in the deal and with your passion and authenticity, it had the potential to make a lot of money. They failed as a business here, likely because of the way corperations (really legal government charters designed to mitigate risk) are structured. Thanks for doing what you do. Skål!

Hey this video came at the right time for me personally. I recently quit my job, and am now (Still freelancing for money), I have shifted my focus to "Esoteric" / "Spiritual" content creation, but in order to fuel that content , I will be using a corporate huge manufacturing company , to sell my designs / merch in order to make the business feasible. I was tackling with my reasons for this, one is money and the other is finding work fulfilment, I can't see myself doing marketing for things like brands and events for my whole life.
Anyways, my point is sometimes the corporate side is needed, but in your case, I hear what you mean. Next thing we know, there will be a box drawn around spiritual / occult / pagan information, and huge corporations will create it for nothing but profit, with no growing in mind.
This is scary to me, because , in the same way "punk is dead", I feel like we're already opened the lid on cashing in on spiritual information for the masses. It's interesting, because next thing you know there will be franchise crystal stores and regular scheduled esoteric information from PBS or something xD

Plus the fact that people are trying to make this faith “trendy” really irritates me and numerous people that practice paganism. This isn’t something that you just get into because it’s “cool” this is definitely a way of life, and you have to put work into it. ESPECIALLY trying to work with the gods of old and your ancestors. And those who try to take advantage for a profit is just an insult

I carved a tobacco pipe with the runes and took forever getting them all right it looks amazing I follow Freya and Odin Not so much others and it shows being most of my stuff has Freya or Odin carved or etched into it. I think the only thing I ever paid for was a symbol of my family's fylgja a black obsidian fox because unlike a lot of people I know that is what got me to my faith as a kid and through my life I have been seeing a black fox when ever I am in a bad spot or something bad happened and never understood what it was. I'm Blackfoot Cherokee and Icelandic and a black fox is considered a fylgja and is very similar in native beliefs it is a follower of a family and I believe it has been with mine for a very long time. very old mythology and very interesting

As I said in the video I saw a lot of this in the photographer business. I had once a company that wanted me to take 10,000 photos of 10,000 products for a website for $1,800. I calculated the work load and even if I developed a system of taking 60 photos and hour (which is insane) it would take me 166 hours to finish the job. Thats 20, 8 hour days! And the equivalent of $10 an hour.
And I stressed that 60 an hour was not possible, it would be more like 20 in order to properly categorize them.
When I laid this out for the company they told me I should be thankful for the job!
