Howdy Gregg, Richard here, aka "Dead Battery" Thanks for sharing another fabulous video packed with informative facts that will benefit many for years to come. 73
I don't watch your videos because I need to perform your expert processes, but your entirely detailed explanations of specific topics always inspire me. I would love to learn more about your other areas of expertise, such as high-performance automobiles and high-performance offshore racing motors. Ext.
Hey Gregg, Rob here AKA Bones and I watched your video from start to finish having never owned one of these radios. I remember having a Motorola CB with a telephone handset back in the day. Good radio but hanks for the info. More knowledge is always a good thing. Peace
I keep looking for a CPI with a dead EPROM so I can try a few things. I thought I had one, but it turned out to be one of the chips that makes up the -8 V circuit had failed. Replaced that and the radio works just fine. And I'm not going to risk blowing up a working CPI. Enough people have done that already.
Wonderful you we're able to resurrect it and put it back on the airwhere it belongs. Pretty much my favorite solid state rig from yesteryear or up against the modern-day surface mount junk. 73
sure, how many good erproms do you have? I guess you kind of missed the whole point of this video. So do tell, how do you propose one does this without a good eprom ???
As mentioned in the video only if I have the radio in front of me or lots of pictures of the smo board and even then I'm hesitant as I don't want to cause any further damage. I can't give you a code not knowing which version you have and all the mods that have been done which absolutely affect the way the truth chart is created.
@@s9radio Ok It's time I learned to do it myself I inherited 32 CPI 2000 radios and most of my work has been on tube radios and amps. Thanks for the come back.
