There is a mod for ac mirage which ables you to gain height with side ejects and especially back ejects. Everyone on pc should have that mod. It changes the whole feeling of the game
I think its silly how Ubisoft with their budget can't even add a simple mechnic that changes everything about parkour in Mirage. But modders do it within 3 weeks of the games release.
I like that this video actually gives a balanced take at what the two games have to offer, instead of just ridiculing mirage and only looking at its negatives, and making unity look like some kind of prefect gem. Personally I obviously do prefer unity (like most people) but I do appreciate that this video shows the pros and cons of both games,even showing areas where mirage is better than unity

Honestly expectations were set low for a lot of ppl about Mirage but it went back to the roots, it's a step in the right direction although the story felt repetitive the gameplay was what made it. Same goes for Unity it has hands down 1 of the most advanced parkour systems in the franchise but like Mirage the story was quite forgettable despite having more depth. I actually like the parkour in Mirage, I also like the fact that Ubisoft have added better clothing physics this time around aswell.
True There's still some good mechanics in rpg's that i hope next games will keep ( as exemple, put on or down the hood whenever we want, the possibilites go slide or roll, different hair/beard styles, passing time by meditating,... that type lf stuff)

Mirage parkour is more controlled with less bugs , we can’t desire a level of parkour like Unity’s parkour but we can suddisfied of this parkour that is on the average.

3:41 to 3:49 Damn that was smooth! Great animations and flow to it. Mirage too has an amazing hidden blade, love the clean animations and SFX (would have been great if you could have also showcased normal stealth kills in Mirage). Even though Mirage doesn't have knives stuck in trees, the effect of damage on the tree trunk looks great! Mirage's slanting poles is a great addition to parkour, and also 7:42, that utensil falling down SFX from the game itself haha?
As much as I love Unity and the great Parkour, Mirage wins, it's better in several aspects. Anyone who's watched this video till the end or played the game should be able to tell by now.

I have a few points to make I wouldn’t recommend reading cause they’re long, boring, not at all factual and just my opinion. 1: It’s pretty cool to see Basim do the Gladiator thing in crop fields. 2: The idea of a glitch type thing for Basim’s multikill ability is pretty cool. However as someone who has never enjoyed getting out of the animus in AC games (cause I feel like it takes me out of the historical setting and it’s world building) I would have preferred if they had done something similar to the fear multi takedown in arkham knight. 3: I think the downgraded cut scenes are significant problem. Neither game has a particularly memorable story as AC games go but unity’s powerful cut scenes and unique side missions really added to its character. 4: I think you should have compared combat as well because I think unity had: More primary weapon options, more finishers and combat animations, more satisfying parrying and heavy attacks and overall a more brutal,raw,challenging and less cartoonish system. 5: Unity’s looting animation is just better. 6: Basim’s climbing is more like a monkey… Even as a brown boy the temptation for a racist joke here is killing me.
Yeah Unity is definitely not the best game in franchise. But at least game was ambitious and tried hard to be the best. Remember that in 2014 there was no game such complex and beautiful as Unity. It’s not the case with Mirage. And I’m not Unity fanboy, my personal favorite is Revelations and yeah I know it has some flaws and not the best game in series but I love it

The parkour in Mirage is more grounded in reality because it's just kind of there to help the player navigate around the world and to create stealth opportunities without actually needing to be stylish. They kind of removed all of the useless parkour moves and only keep the ones that works. However, Unity's parkour is more stylish and fluid, part of the reason is because Ubisoft wanted to show off their mocap technology at the time and considering parkour is a huge part of the AC series, they found the perfect opportunity to do so.
I believe Ubisoft should address the speed and smoothness of Basim, especially during activities like running, sprinting, free-stepping over beams, and swinging on poles. Given that Basim is portrayed as one of the fastest Assassins, it's crucial to ensure that his movements are fluid and responsive, allowing for a more immersive gaming experience. Currently, there seems to be a discrepancy between Basim's depicted speed and the Animus's ability to accurately interpret his swiftness. Any thoughts ? 👇🏼

I was on Unity’s side for the past year or so until I got Mirage just the other day. I can’t explain it, but it’s just so much better when you’re actually playing it, and it looks worse when being recorded. And that’s coming from a bare bones Xbox One player! Also Arno is definitely not a reincarnation of Basim, he just swims in a similar fashion 💀

I know a lot of people favor unity but to me it was never on my top 5. The combat sucks and we couldn't even whistle in stealth, in parkour it's damn good and sometimes it's irritating as well so I'll go with mirage
This is another video which I think shows everything well, but the climbing physics doesn’t have to be Basim leaping up every wall. If you let go of free run up, he scales the wall slowly and methodically, like Arno.
damn AC Unity is still amazing graphically i remember when i frist played this game on my PC and i just wowed at the graphics the amazing details of Paris and the hundreds of NPC in the streets sadly when this game first came out on PC it has so many bugs that tarnish the reputation of the game.

Can someone make a mod that simply just swaps out mirgaes parkour system for untity/syndicates parkour system with small tweaks like if possible, keep basims speed since its seems like he is the fastest runner, and i thats only based on a viewers perspective cause i dont have the abilty to play the game myself right now and feel it first hand. Anyone that play mirage can see how much better mirage is compare to unity, the story mirsge not be the best, but its far better than unity, gameplay its much more smoother, stealth is just more fun and less buggy in mirage. I like to comment on the shadows, at the Max setting, Unity uses Nvidia PCSS, which simulates how shadows get blur out the further away from the object. If you just set it one setting below, it will uses same Shadow tech as Mirage, but lower quality Does the option not exist on Mirage?

I played both games. I still think Unity has the biggest potential, but I'm tired of people thinking that high potential = good. The game is still bad and has plenty of flaws, while Mirage actually works. Mirage manages to go back into the roots more than Unity has done. While the Unity Assassin Brotherhood is empty and just act like poster boys, the brotherhood in Mirage feels like a big family where Basim talks to each of them and learns from them, similar to AC1. The chase sequences are better in Mirage while having the citizens react to you. You can see how horrified and scared they are while you are running away from th guards. You don't just pay attention to the guards, but also the citizens and the public around you. Any inappropriate act you do, the citizens call you out, which raises your notoriety like in AC2. The citizens will even call the guards on you if you act up. If you're highly notorious the citizens will already notice and call the guards too. Hiding in plain sight is just like in AC1 and is prioritized. The stealth is great too if you've seen Leo K or Altair Stealth videos. Eavesdropping is back and EVEN the disguises are better than Unity in Mirage. The only thing Unity has better than Mirage is the parkour, which can be argued isn't even the best. The best is AC1-Revelations. Unity just looks good, but it's hard to control. Mirage is more like AC3-Rouge, a mix between stylish but complex enough.

I know a lot of people favor unity but to me it was never on my top 5. The combat sucks and we couldn't even whistle in stealth, in parkour it's damn good and sometimes it's irritating as well so I'll go with mirage
This is another video which I think shows everything well, but the climbing physics doesn’t have to be Basim leaping up every wall. If you let go of free run up, he scales the wall slowly and methodically, like Arno.

damn AC Unity is still amazing graphically i remember when i frist played this game on my PC and i just wowed at the graphics the amazing details of Paris and the hundreds of NPC in the streets sadly when this game first came out on PC it has so many bugs that tarnish the reputation of the game.

I think Ubisoft should fix the speed and smoothness of Basim, especially when running, sprinting, free stapping over beams, and swinging on poles. Since Basim are the one of the fastest Assassins that the Animus can't keep up with his speed

Parkour is evolving in AC, Just backwards.
It started with 3's parkour.
AC Mirage had the potential to have AC Unity's parkour system. But sadly, my expectations were high enough to be disappointed at the end.
AC Mirage isn't made by Ubisoft Montreal, they were made by the B team (Which very good, just not good enough to alter the engine internally that much)

Can someone make a mod that simply just swaps out mirgaes parkour system for untity/syndicates parkour system with small tweaks like if possible, keep basims speed since its seems like he is the fastest runner, and i thats only based on a viewers perspective cause i dont have the abilty to play the game myself right now and feel it first hand. I would love to see how the game would look and feel then. Forget about arno being too "flashy" cause if anyone practices parkour for real they know that yes, some of the things arno does are on a what id call "master" lvl versus somone whos just starting out with the basics like a lazy vault, which i wanna say was first featured in ac3 and id even go as far to say that before unity, ac3 had the best parkour in terms of blending realism and video game logic. But my point im making is id just like somone to humor the idea that unity/syndicate system wasnt complete trash. When i see bagdad it looks like unity got modded and then had its parkour system changed to be more like ac revalations since thats when the zip line was introduced i believe. Anyone that play mirage can see how much better mirage is compare to unity, the story mirsge not be the best, but its far better than unity, gameplay its much more smoother, stealth is just more fun and less buggy in mirage. The only thing unity did better is just the kill animations and parkour, thats it. I kinda miss the double assasination tho, they should bring it back

I like to comment on the shadows, at the Max setting, Unity uses Nvidia PCSS, which simulates how shadows get blur out the further away from the object. If you just set it one setting below, it will uses same Shadow tech as Mirage, but lower quality

Why copy in paste the same parkour animations to a newer game why not just evolve unity parkour make it better, I read a decent amount of these comments people bashing newer players or bashing mirage for not having the parkour system they like, I could bash the ac parkour system and say it’s a step down, clunky, not nowhere near as good as 2003 prince of Persia what the game was built off of, ubi has the prince of Persia free running mechanics and ac parkour system if they combine those together and they would have one hell of a movement system hands down

I played both games. I still think Unity has the biggest potential, but I'm tired of people thinking that high potential = good. The game is still bad and has plenty of flaws, while Mirage actually works. Mirage manages to go back into the roots more than Unity has done.
While the Unity Assassin Brotherhood is empty and just act like poster boys, the brotherhood in Mirage feels like a big family where Basim talks to each of them and learns from them, similar to AC1. The chase sequences are better in Mirage while having the citizens react to you. You can see how horrified and scared they are while you are running away from th guards. You don't just pay attention to the guards, but also the citizens and the public around you. Any inappropriate act you do, the citizens call you out, which raises your notoriety like in AC2. The citizens will even call the guards on you if you act up. If you're highly notorious the citizens will already notice and call the guards too. Hiding in plain sight is just like in AC1 and is prioritized.
The stealth is great too if you've seen Leo K or Altair Stealth videos. Eavesdropping is back and EVEN the disguises are better than Unity in Mirage.
The only thing Unity has better than Mirage is the parkour, which can be argued isn't even the best. The best is AC1-Revelations. Unity just looks good, but it's hard to control. Mirage is more like AC3-Rouge, a mix between stylish but complex enough.
