Very informative video! Thank you for posting. We recently visited the WS area and liked it a lot. You highlighted some towns we drove through and some we did not. We are trying to research different areas to live when we retire in 2-3 years.
Glad it was helpful! I wish you would’ve called me I could’ve given some recommendations of areas to look at and restaurants to try out! Lol next time you’re in town let me know I can show you a couple houses !
Thanks for the video. Do you also help find rental properties? alot of the rental agencies seem like scams. Any good ones you can rec ommend?
Yeah! Well kind of , I don’t work rentals but I can put you in contact with the right people and send you a list of rentals
It’s 2024 I’m planning to move to Winston-Salem this year. Thanks for this video and the homes. I hope to visit again soon and will keep you mind😊
I’d love to help :)
Great video ! Very informative. We are from So Cal too ! Thank you!
@@wilmareyes9569 you’re welcome !
Can attest to Clemmons, I hit the Jackpot in a wonderful neighborhood (rolling greenhills subdivision) The Store are so close, and they just put up Testla Charger right next to the New TownCentere , They just added a Ross and a UltaBeauty across the street. Plus 5 mins from Tanglewood Park!! And the HagfishShack they opened up last last year.
Yes! I love Clemmons! How long have you lived there?
@@movingtowinstonsalem8499 i just moved in to NC last year .
Awesome! Where’d you move from?
I love living in Clemmons. The western side of Winston Salem and the surrounding suburbs is fantastic.
@@movingtowinstonsalem8499When you mentioned the $2 million home I immediately knew you where talking about the millhouse
Great Video. Leaning towards Advance. Loving the positive vibe on this particular location.❤
Advance or clemmons is where me and my wife would ideally build our forever home
Moved to winston from Brooklyn 2013 went from renting to buying a home by 2019. I made it just in time as everyone now from the north is moving here. I LOVE IT❤ BEST DECISION EVER
Awesome!
And irritating the locals lol 😂
Thanks for the great information.
You’re welcome
Dude, Ardmore! It’s convenient to downtown and the hospitals, it’s got plenty of character and the people are great.
I love it there!
Thanks for the information
No prob! Feel free to call if I can help
We are a couple in our 30s with two toddlers and were looking for a more secluded area that's safe but obviously not too far from the city as I'm a stay at home mom and enjoy taking my kids to the library and what not. I love older homes with a little more land...my husband can renovate homes so it doesn't have to be perfect as he can redo it. We are trying to stay under 250k :) We love the outdoors, hiking, camping, biking....would you recommend Rural Hall for what I'm looking for? Thank you for this informative video!
Yes! There are some others you might like, King, pfafftown, Lewisville, walkertown, wallburg, Midway, or Advance. For the budget I think Rural Hall, King, and Walkertown are your best bet. Feel free to reach out directly if I can help in any other way.
@@movingtowinstonsalem8499 Thank you for your response! We will definitely be in touch when we decide to make our move! :)
@@AimeeGotell-c6b Great to hear! I will be ready. Where are you coming from if I may ask?
@@movingtowinstonsalem8499 Also, I see comments about WS not being safe. I'm coming from metro Phoenix and everything looks safe from reading the stats online on WS but a lot of TH-cam comments are making me question. Obviously everything is relative and perspective for the most part...just wanted to get your opinion. Is there places that we should absolutely avoid? We're leaving Phoenix because we want to settle down somewhere more safe.
@@movingtowinstonsalem8499 Just seeing this comment, Metro Phoenix!
Super helpful! Looking to possibly move here from Connecticut. This was good info for sure
Thanks! Let me know if you need anything from me!
I'm from Connecticut. Recently watched videos about best and worst places in Connecticut and North Carolina. I'm from Milford which the guy said is one of his top 3 cities in Connecticut. Moved to Winston Salem area and Winston Salem was on his top 10 worst places in North Carolina listed at number 5. In comparison from Milford to here it's significantly better than Milford. I'd just avoid the North and east sides of Winston Salem.
Are there any recommendations for good neighbors for apartments? I am looking to move early next year but want to check out apartments before making the decision to buy a home
Good morning, yeah I know a few good ones! shoot me a text
Thanks for sharing. Might be moving from Oregon.
Id love to answer any questions, feel free to call or text.
Super helpful, thank you!! Considering relocating from the Denver Metro area as coat of living is just getting ao expensive here.
Glad you enjoyed it! let me know if you have any specific questions
Would you say it's possible to buy in this area for >200k? Single people like me can't afford a 400k house.
@@TrueImmortality yes, especially if you don’t need 3brs
We drove over yesterday from Tennessee to go to Mrs. Hanes' cookie shop and I didn't see hardly any nice homes on the way in or the way out. We dropped by Hanging Rock State Park on the way home. I guess we were in the wrong parts of the city then. All I saw were run down old houses / mobile homes, etc. Looked like a lot of poverty.
Yes you definitely went through the back roads, thats where Mrs Hanes Cookies is, in the middle of nowhere. I actually live nearby I love that rural area. I live in a newer construction home neighborhood with homes priced in the mid 300s to 500s. But yeah there are plenty of high end neighborhoods nearby.
@@movingtowinstonsalem8499 Thank you. I saw a lot of Hanes this and Hanes that. Mrs. Hanes' roots are definitely deep there evidently. I know she was born and raised there and her cookie shop is on her parent's old farmland. Very neat experience. My husband was raised in the Moravian church in Wisconsin so he's very interested in Moravian history. Whilst I find North Carolina a very pretty state I prefer my home state of Tennessee. Have a great day ☀🌞☀🌞
@tina8796 Tennessee is gorgeous! If you’re ever back in the area let me know and I’ll point you in the direction of some nicer neighborhoods and some incredible Moravian historical sites and food
@@movingtowinstonsalem8499 awesome. thank you ☀
I am complating moving WS , apartment initially, house later!
Do it! Let me know if I can help !
@@movingtowinstonsalem8499 I sure will, your video is very informative, thank you!
I love to walk out my door and go for a hike nearby. Are there any hilly hiking spots areas that have affordable and safe neighborhoods nearby? Ty!
Hey Catherine! I can think of some neighborhoods near Salem lake or the grant at quarry park , or are you thinking more like pilot mountain?
no winston isnt the safiest city at all
The what Gabe?
Um Tanglewood or Shallowford is way safer😂
Ya thanks everyone. Per Neighborhoo Scout, WS WAS super safe but the stats are two years behind and are currently horrible. I bet the virus and lockdown had something to do with that. I'm staying put for now until the stats go back up in terms of safety. Hopefully it was only temporary 🙏
I've lived in or near Winston salem for 51 yrs. Property taxes are crazy. Surrounding counties are much cheaper.
Iredell county is good. North of Statesville some very affordable nice homes
Property taxes compared to up north are CCCHHHEEEEEPPPP!!!
Winston Salem tre 4 stand up💯 south side
What area has a high walkable area with restaurants and parks?
1500 to 2000 sq 3bd house
Are you a fan of living downtown?
@@movingtowinstonsalem8499 yes I like nice, safe downtown neighborhoods with older smaller houses.
@@Ag-wu4mi I got some homes in mind, can I email them to you?
Across from old Salem
You have old salem, the greenway, the dash ballpark..
Dude how can you not know this? Do you actually live here???😂
@@Ag-wu4mi
Tanner Mill is new construction😂
Oakridge and Stokedale
Love those areas! Is that where you stay?
Where you should live in Winston Salem.
Proceeds to list cities that are not Winston Salem.
Lmao Winston Salem *area*
Forsyth county lol !
@@queenjasz7685 the titles work best for the algorithm that way, but I do say in the Winston Salem Area.
Broooo this would be interesting to watch if it didn’t sound like paper ripping every 5 seconds
Lmao, thanks for the constructive feed back. Im new at edditing, maybe Ill lower the volume on it, but I havent had other people complain about it before.
Yeah, no shade at all my guy. It was a good video and super informative. It’s just like every five seconds. It was that noise. I agree to use it, but I would lower the volume. I checked on the comments to see if anyone else agreed and I was surprised to find nobody had the same issue.
@kaylahowell7672 thanks! There was one video I did where I used a similar swoosh on every transition and people damn near cursed me out and I lost subscribers so I reigned it back lol. Thanks for the feedback
@@movingtowinstonsalem8499 sorry to hear that. Everyone needs to be kind.
Why would anyone want to move to Winton Salem?
Well because it’s amazing. Are you from here?
Yes. Crime is getting worse .
@@JohnDoe-ho7pd Every city has crime, what is Winston Salem Crime compared to Chicago La New york or miami? Becuase that is where people are moving here from, big cities.
@movingtowinstonsalem8499 You metion the communities on the outskirts of Winston. Clemmons?, Lewisville,Walkertown, Kernersville and even another country Mocksville and Adavance. That's not Winston Salem . Winston Salem is dead. Why don't you mention the Eastside of Winston Salem?
@@JohnDoe-ho7pd The whole of this video is to show people what to expect as far as places to live in the Winston Salem area, because there are so many options, I explain that in the first part of the main video, My entire channel is dedicated to Winston Salem. I didnt mention east side because theres nothing about it that I could fit into this video. Why dont you make a youtube video about it? Thanks for boosting my engagement with this video, have a great day.
There's not shit to do in Winston except go to the park, work, and raise a family. Everything else you can do from your computer.
Have you seen my, things to do in Winston Salem videos?
Here some advice for moving to Winston Salem, just don't and live anywhere else. This town sucks.
That's horrible advice lol, sounds like you just dont want anyone else coming to Winston
@@movingtowinstonsalem8499 um what gave you that idea? I'm ready to move from this shithole. Trying to save someone else the trouble .
@@movingtowinstonsalem8499 they might be living in the bad part of the city
Please dont move here. We have enough now.
lmao, yall dont listen to him, he's gate keeping. Everybody is moving here.
Plz don't
Why’s that Johnny?
I am looking at Winston-Salem and want to live more rural/exurban and im looking at living in Statesville and working in Winston.
Just wondering how the drive is?
45 minutes would be my guess, about 40 miles
Check out North Iredell properties. A little closer and a great sleepy country school.
For rural I suggest Booneville. Have an aunt that moved there and I live in Clemmons it's a half hour drive and rural more rural than Lewisville.
May I suggest knob hill ?? 😈😈 heaven for the eyes brings hell to the soul as the broken are the more evolved 🥀🪦 PZ
