Ulcerate - Stare Into Death and Be Still is my favourite album of the year. Jamie is just so powerful and creative as a drummer, there is a mix of pure aggression and a combined tribal and jazzy feel that lay the atmosphere of the songs. Those guys are just so brilliant in their songwriting and the way they turned Technical Death Metal into something atmospheric!
I'm not a drummer, but this was such a fun and insightful listen. I'd love to hear anothet episode with these three together again just kicking back and talking about music.
Been looking for so long for shows podcasts interviews hosting the man they myth the legend Jamie and finally i came across this Absolutely precious. Thank you so much for such a podcasts
@53:59 on the idea of waiting to make the perfect record, and how you won't perceive it as such in 2 years time - so true. Tastes and perceptions always change and evolve
Fav podcast episode. It’s actually how I first discovered your channels Andrew, while searching for Mark Rees content. Always thought his style was awesome , quite un- metal in some ways. I dunno, just resonates for me & Subtract remain in my regular playlist to this day. Talk Minus Action Equals Nothing
@@AndrewRooneyDrums oh my gosh thank you! I don't know how your reaction is going to be considering you are probably familiar with him already and not as mind-blown anymore but... honestly a true master of his craft!
