I’ve seen this before, but what really amazes me the fluidity of his movements! Every hit and transition to each parts of the kit are so smooth and graceful. Excellent drummer!
Pleasure to see you take a look at this one buddy. I must have watched this a hundred times already, the guy is magic. It’s also 100% the reason I bought a Sonor D506 snare 😂
AWESOME!!! I suggested this video years ago.....Glad to see you share it!!!!! Charly is an epic whirlwind of drumming energy!!!! @3:12 just listen how his rim shot fills that room......The man is a walking nuclear-drumming power plant!!!! Sounds/feels like he is about to go full-on nuclear meltdown at the end!!!!
I couldn’t help but notice the similarities in snare sound between Charly and Neil Peart. Charly’s snare drum sound and Neil’s sound so similar to me. They both have snares that have this uncanny characteristic of not chocking with the rim shots and at the same time articulate the softer notes so clearly. At the 9:00 minute mark through 9:10 I can hear a very similar snare drum pattern to Neil’s Rhythm Method snare solo from 1988. Charley is just fantastic! Love his work thank you for sharing!
Wow! What a class act Charlie is! His accuracy and technique are amazing...... I loved every minute of this. Thanks, Andrew! I actually own one of his albums and forgot how good he is....👍
About twenty years ago I had the chance to see him in Kaiserslautern in Germany. He´s a true legend. Check out his record "Knock out": th-cam.com/video/C-VzYF2wjXQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=zY7MN992ZSwpQwBA
yea he was great. The kit sounded great. Also, sonor make good kits,so im told never had one i used tonwatch a lot of simon phillips drum solosnhe loves a solo lol
Charlie Antolini, Billy Cobham, Terry Bozzio, Carl, Palmer, Phil Collins. Those were my Idols back in the days, no particular order. Overall I would say Bozzio may be the best European oldschool drummer and by todays standards I would see a tie between Benny Greb and Jojo Mayer

As a Mozambican, I was very shocked to hear you call out “Mozambican” wasn’t aware that its the name of a style of grove ❤
‘Mozambique’ is what the general feel is called here.
This is actually probably my favorite from solo of all time!!!
Incredible
OMG the technique he's got!😵💫🤩
Yup!

Go play one today!
I’ve watched this many times through the years. This is part Gene Krupa, Buddy Rich and Louie Bellson
2 huge swishes...respect. Love those cymbals especially when they are Chinas. This was epic
💯🙌
They don't make drummers like that anymore. What a monumental force of nature.
9:40 double kick for sure. Cool solo, great classic big band sound🤘🏻

What a great talent 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤
Oh yes
He Definitely is is one the greatest, very close to Buddy Rich. I can't believe I'd ever say this, but maybe better than Buddy.
Not to be confused with the rock band caravan
🤯

If i closed my eyes it sounds like neil peart
Does look like double kick. I see both legs moving but the high hat isn’t moving.
