They should. We Cub fans KNEW that Ron would never see his induction during his lifetime. As a Cub fan who witnessed his entire career, I know that he deserved the honor but there were too many sportswriters who had it in for him.

Ron was always at his restaurant in Schaumburg when the Cubs were in town. After dinner, he would walk around and greet patrons. Of if you went to his table he'd stand up and thank you for coming; plus, he would talk to you like you were pals all along. I am SOOOO glad I lived in Chicago for this magic era and rooted like mad for the Cubbies in 2016!

Fucking HOF to make it more insulting Barry Larkin was inducted the same day on his second year of eligibility and ron was just as good as him if not better

A shanda, we call it, for the HOF to wait until after he died. The dominant 3rd baseman in the NL, perhaps MLB (if look at all around offense and defense in comparison to Brooks), for over a decade. All those GG's. 11 consecutive AS years. How on Earth could they wait so long?

I saw him play in the sixties and never forgot him. I also remember Santo's Hot dogs at the stadium LOL. I'll always remember that late sixties (69) Cubs team and how the Mets passed them in the last month for the pennant. He was a remarkable man during a complicated era. Captain material!

Easily one of the gutsiest athletes of all-time! His wife interspersing Ron's fight with diabetes with his playing career was BEE-YOO-TEE-FULLY done!!! It REALLY touched my heart and had me choking up throughout her speech.

Ron Santo was a very familiar face for seeing play, hearing as commentator, laughing with Harry Carey, even seen his smiling face in the trading cards. Never met him but every baseball fan specially when one was a kid make a connection with the game and the players. Of course I would loved to see Ron in the HOF alive, but he is there at last. Many others deserve to be there too.

When I see this it makes me have no respect for the HOF and it was so wrong that they waited till he died. Go ahead and put Pete Rose and Barry Bonds and the rest of the bums you want to put in or leave out I don't care how you vote and who you put in anymore

The HOF vote is today. These bastards made Ron's family wait until after he had died.Santo was the best ballplayer in the 1960's,according to Retrosheet.I'll bet if he was Jewish, the writers and Selig would have had him in much earlier. They put in the one dimensional Hank Greenberg only 9 years after his retirement.

Ron Santo being in the Hall of Fame cheapens the honor. Ruth, Gehrig, Dimaggio, Mantle, Santo? I don't think so.
