    Great job, I dont think I'd be brave enough to bring wheels in the kitchen, the boss would not be happy 🤣

Love the derails you filmed on your car doubt my wife would let me do some of the work in the house. Your wheels came up great keep posting the videos

    Use a Stanley blade to take off the paint off the MG logo on the 4pots so the silver mg shows through. Looks much nicer.

    Demon-Tweeks were the best on pricing for the Toyos over ten years ago when I had an MG TF LE500. The new Toyos always felt a bit slippery for the first few hundred miles but the rears wore out about 3 times faster than the fronts, but handling was great with them.

      Thanks for the comment. I guess I'll find out if I ever get her through her MOT. Ive never owned a mid engine car before so need to take my time for a while.

    Nice to get a task like that done and dusted. It might have easier to remove the clip-on wheel weights and the valve stems prior to refinishing. Keep up the great progress, and don't forget the B! I love that car. Back in 1971, I learned to how to drive a standard transmission on a Blue Royale '70 B/GT.

      Thanks for watching, I knew the valve would be changed by the tyre shop..... so it came down to the 5 yard question. 😉😉👍

    I was startled by your country roads song timelapse, I wasn’t expecting that from an Englishman. I live in Virginia and hear it a lot from the mountains to the west.

      It's a great song.... thanks for watching, it's hard to believe people so far away are watching me mess about in the cold and rain. 👍👍😀

    Nice work. I remember doing a diy job on my old Fabia. Passed the 10 foot test :)
    I’m thinking of doing the TF wheels now so that paint colour helps thanks. Also St Helens is t far from me.

    Please don’t use a steel wire brush on alloy; the steel wears, and then sticks to the alloy, leading to dissimilar metal corrosion, making it much worse than it was when you started. Try something like a scotchbrite wheel, which is also more efficient.

      @Exhausted-autos you appear to be doing well. cant wait to see the next episode and what jobs you tackle next I like to do the work myself also ...whats your plans for the car any mods .

    • @Exhausted-autos
      @Exhausted-autos  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@philhoughton7646on the list is, engine light via lambda sensor, mot check over for anything else, the mot itself, underside corrosion protection with bilt hamber, front bumper off to get the headlights clear and remove condensation plus install fog lights. I also have a new bonnet as the one I has is corroded...... so no real mods as yet, that's more for the MGB.
      Unless you have any ideas that is.

      @Exhausted-autos my own car im hoping to get its first MoT in nearly 11 years. I've changed front and rear subframes, also I changed the interior to black, red seats and silver centre console... currently looking for a decent DAB head unit possibly with a small screen. There is loads of good information on the net and plenty of helpful guys for spares.

    Looks so good! Great job. I'm so tempted to do mine now, but I use mine as a daily driver so might buy some 2nd hand rims to refurb then swap over my tyres.
    P.S. I'd keep the other two rears as spares. They go fairly quick on the TF.

    • @Exhausted-autos
      @Exhausted-autos  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for the comment... how many miles do you get from the rears?

    • @PrincipalAudio
      @PrincipalAudio 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Exhausted-autos I don't use TR-1s on the rear (yet) - Nankang at the mo. Will be changing over to TR-1s very soon. My Nankangs lasted about 15k miles (2 years for me). But I've heard TR-1s go a bit quicker. Slightly softer compound I think. Depends how you drive, I guess! I've been a good boy since last rear tyres. 😂

    Iv just kerbed my mx 5 wheel after 22 years of them being avoided 🤬 can you sand the damaged erea down and paint it myself?

    • @Exhausted-autos
      @Exhausted-autos  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can, you can fill sand and paint. It won't be as good as a professional job, you may need to remove the tyre to sand. The paint/lacquer won't be as hard as a powered coat, and the last thing is matching the colour of the other wheels.
      If it's just one, and you want a good job it's not too expensive to get it done professionally.
