this is an easy cheese stratergy to kill the fire giant in elden ring with the swarm of flies incantation
this incantation its very cheap to cast fast to cast and can kick in bleed that can do massive damage while you can remain at a safe distance and avoid taking damage using the bloodhounss step ash of war
the stats required for this stratergy are just 11 faith and 20 arcane and then whatever other stats you want eg vigor mind etc

This isn't a cheese, it's a method and the easiest and best I've seen. Well done.
I’d have to agree tbh. A “cheese” in my opinion is something that turns a boss’s ai off, instakills them, or just makes it so they can’t hit you (think climbing in a tree above a boss and spamming poison arrows).
This is just really smart use of the fat fuck’s size against him with an incantation that otherwise doesn’t seem like it would be good here.
This was a lifesaver it took me a couple tries to figure out his combat style and his roles kept nearly one shoting me but this helped so much thank you I've subd and liked video

my twinblades cut holes in this guy after lots of tries and i only manage to get him down to that one sliver of health left. this video really opened me up for multiclassing into a bit of faith and the bleed proc really helped!

Awesome video, I couldn't quite get it down with just the swarm of flies for the first stage so I melee him on horseback with rivers of blood katana for first stage and then hit him with swarm of flies for second stage and he melted. This is so much better than trying the jumping cheese method. Keep up the great work B Man

Thank you. After 3 days of losing to this giant I tried this method and it worked.
This is great! Makes the fight a lot more bearable. Also awesome that you can do this on any character without respeccing if you use the mimic mask and a faith talisman.
To make it even easier, you can summon Alexander and a Mimic . Turns out alexander is actually super useful here. Very tanky, holds aggro and does pretty good damage, and the extra HP the fire giant has doesn't matter so much because of your bleed procs.
How do you summon them ?

I just entered the first gate you see to the boss, Alexander's summon sign is on the ground to the right once you enter the boss arena. Since it's not a player furled finger summon you can use your spirit ashes, so at that point I just summoned mimic. I think if you have your catalyst equipped and nothing else mimic *should* spam blood flies.
Seriously, this tactic needs alot more credit! I have tried so many ways, followed advice from other vids and have failed heaps!!! Tried this tactic ONCE and worked! Thank you so much, you got an extra sub :)

Lmao 😂 Done it in 1 try !!! Took only 5 minutes , only had 16 Arcane ( bare minimum to use the fly spell). Keep it coming mate 👍
Is anyone else having the issue where the bleed just does not hit? I spam swarm, most of them hitting, but bleed will not kick into effect. I do have 20 arcane, and even used radagons icon to shorten the casting time for the swarm. I might try a different seal, and see if that works.

I used the mimic tear, which may have been my issue.
But first phase, I just attacked the ankle. Then I used the swarm for the second phase. Took a few tries. My issue was my mimic tear had him moving the other direction, so the swarm was missing.
The way I did this, instead of being in front of him, stay behind him the entire fight. Don't worry about using bloodhound step, just time your rolls properly. Also if you have rivers of blood, use that in combination with the swarm of flies, I was able to cut him down in minutes. Best of luck to ya fam!

im a melee build so my strat was to get to the second phase before I started spamming the flies worked well. Only thing is I died as i hit the fatal blow and did not get the runes for beating him :[
I just couldn't do this, could not get into phase two. It was a timing issue for me, as he kept slamming me with the shield mid way though my incantations, which blocked my ability bloodhound step my way out of there. HOWEVER, I combined your approach with someone elses - WeirdGuyGreen on here - who used a stationary archer summon to catch him out on the edge of that rock (where the initial pre patch cheese event was) - I0 did him in phases one with that approach, with the archer firing away non stop as I just walked around behind a tree, bloodhound claws and flies at the ready, and then just knocked him down in phase two with your approach. I must admit I was a bit clumsy with phase two, couldn't do it as swiftly as you did, and got pulled under him somehow, but managed, just about, to knock the giant down! What a nightmare that was. I thought that was where the game ended for me.

omg.... I can't believe this. I got it on my 1st try with this very method (bloodhound step + swarm of flies) not sure if the blood exultation talisman helped or not. anyways, I can't believe this video hasn't gone viral yet... thank you for saving us a huge headache. who would have thought swarm of flies was the key! crucible scale talisman was helpful too im guessing since that Giant can easily 1shot people

The easiest for me was, run toward him and get under him and attack his legs till the second phase. Then go on horse and use spells. ;-)

@@jayceeyildirim6314 definitely the one. It seems like for some reason your able to do more damage to him in the first part of the fight so I used my golden Halberd+9 to get to the second half. Then I switched to what you see in the video. Got him first try.

My only real issue is my casting time takes as long as his attack charge so by the time I'm done the cast I haven't got enough time to dodge.... Do I'll probably have to respec a bit but otherwise it has gotten him down way lower than I ever got.... Will just need a good few attempts

What if...I will just equip incantation on the right hand and fight him on the horse back while keep hugging to his heel. Also might equip my left hand with a thick shield just in case I have to get down from the horse to block his snow shoving attack.

Bloodhounds step make it way easier ... his attacks are all slow with big wind ups ... you can easily avoid them if you want with that ash of war

Its not really working for me.
When i stay out of his hitting range the flies dont reach him and if i spam the flies while walking backwards he actually catches up with me.
I don't think this is the best method
not for people who cant think or follow instructions ....
you are told to run bloodhounds step to avoid damage so you are in hitting range but cant be hit for starter...
and go find another method to instantly delete him without even having to versus his 2nd form then with very low requirements any1 can use and do lol
Your 73 arcane makes a helluva difference. Takes me forever with swarm to knock him down to 70% with 24 arcane pts and then i'm OOM!!!!

NEXT TO NOBODY WILL STRUGLE WITH THIS METHOD ITS FLAWLESS BUT THOSE WHO DO:
1. YOU NEED TO SPAM THE SWARM NOT CAST JUST 1 AND THEN WAIT ..

3. SPAM CAST FLIES AS YOU ARE WALKING BACKWARDS !! this causes the giant to walk/jump into more than 1 swarm at a time inflicting the bleed fast ..
4.dont stand under the giant .. keep walking away walking the giant into the swarms and its gg .

@@darmockjalad3343 You may need to change your build using a rebirth. But you could try the talisman Carian Filigreed Crest if you don’t have it already. Which can be bought from iji. That lowers FP cost of skills. But honestly I’m not a smart addict in this game so don’t take my advice to serious. But I’m pretty sure the talisman is definitely a thing to use.
He still does hard damage on me
Still stuck...Can't seem to dodge at the right time...seems like it takes a moment to dodge after using blood flies. Camera angle doesn't help much cause he's so big. One or 2 hits and it's over. Frustrated !!

I just tried your strat multiple times, and didnt work at all. The flies dont even do damage to the fire giant, even while standing underneath of him while casting. Thats especially the case for the 1st phase.
There was an update this morning for ER on steam,so can anyone else confirm if this still works or not? Ive played honestly for 100hr +. But ive resorted to cheese strats for this BS boss.
EDIT: I had to be very close to the boss in my experience, but they did end up working pretty nicely.

flie do little damage its the bleed they inflict that do the massive damage so again you need 20 arcane stat to make the flies inflict the required bleed

@@BManOfficialTH-camChannel Thanks for the reply. I have 43 Arcane as I sit, but the problem is the flies just aren't doing anything at all it seems. Ive been summoning a lvl 10 mimic and using a lvl 10 Rivers of Blood. I just cant get these flies to work sadly. Ive been at it for a few hours too, so that might be the real issue lol
the reason you spam the flies is because when the giant moves into the flie the giant is usualy getting attacked from more than 1 swarm ,,, this in turn make bleed kick in way faster than if only 1 swarm hitting it ... the more swarms hitting the giant the more faster u get bleed the longer time between swarms and you may not inflict any bleed it may take 2 swarms to inflict bleed on giant so again spam it and normaly more than 1 swarm is hitting at same time resulting in alot of bleed

So I’m trying this method right now but I can’t seem to get my character to go invisible during the dodge (roll)
it wont work if the weapon you have the ash of war on has a red cross on it saying you dont meet the requirements or if you have the weapon in your left hand .... its just like any other ash of war and works the same
Also its not the 'b' dodge for the teleporting .. its using the ash of war on the weapon that do it .. so on xbox if the weapon is in right hand i press LT to use the teleport

just saying there is absolutely nothing easy about this. unless you have incredibly high mind stats for more FP you are going to need to spam cerulean flasks which by the time you replenish you will already be hit by an attack because you didnt bloodhound step.
No its easy as lol you are over thinking it go try it.... i think you are forgetting you can also use a summon .. its just that easy i didnt need any summon
You are bugging. That's a "you" issue if you can't manage your flasks. If I see it getting low, I'll stop to replenish so I can still use bloodhound step. This method is one of the easiest ways.
Bleed goes by a percentage of the enemies health. The low FP cost of the flies is crazy for the damage is does when bleed procs. If you're at the fire Giant, you should already be able to re-spec your build, if that's an issue for you.
@@impexxable Bleed doesn't proc for like three or four casts of Swarm of Flies, unless you spec for it. That's the problem. It's not the bleed damage itself, it's the fact that Swarm doesn't trigger proc efficiently on Fire Giant because he actually resists bleed. Bleed procs mean nothing if you burn all your resources.
You shouldn't have to respec your entire build just to deal with one boss.
@@tjl4688 you didn't read what I wrote carefully. The "... if that's an issue for you" was chosen for a reason.
You don't have to have high arcane or even mind. I did it on my low level strength build. Had to activate Godrick's rune to get enough points for arcane and faith.
This is my first souls game and it seems like veterans or people who should be used to it have so many issues. I've also done it without the flies or a cheese. Are you all utilizing anything? Mimic Tear? Alexander? Your steed?
Your comment about not reaching the feet, makes me question if you're listening or actually seeing what he's doing and where he's doing it. No offense.

yeah, this really doesn't work... tried over and over with this build, doing the same thing in the video, doesn't work. the damage from the shield and the shockwave are almost 1 shot kills. this method does not work if your stats are not ridiculously high and have a shit ton of HP

Yeah sure spam the Incant because have no fear my health can take a beating but what about everyone else who doesn’t have enough health to not get one shot. You get hit multiple times without death which yeah allows the method to work but you can’t spam and stay alive at the same timw
get good and use bloodhound step to avoid the hits . i also have no armor or anything on and still survive with only 38 vigor lol ...
if you have under 40 vigor you build wrong . end of story . go level up .

i just done it 10 mins ago on a profile level 110 with only blkoodhounds step and flies and a seal ... no armor no medalions nothing .... no way you cant get items that only requir 11 faith and 16 arcane lmfao

This isn’t even a cheese this take strategy and the right equipment Iv been at it for a hour and I haven’t gotten him to half health. I just don’t know how people are saying this is easy
it is easy idk how the (very few amount of people ) struglke with such an easy method ... just spam swarm of flies and dodge the attacks with an op dodge ability how is that hard
@@BManOfficialTH-camChannel Because the AI doesn't fucking get hit by Swarm of Flies, that's why. You got lucky in your video - the rest of us can't land the damn spell on him because he keeps backpedalling or rolling out of range before bleed can proc.

no go follow instructions and spam the flies not just shott 1 at a time its when he jumps into your flies he is being hit by more than 1 and it inflicts bleed super fast ... if u only shoot 1 swarm at a time u probaly wont inflict bleed ... folow instructions spam it

@@tjl4688 Don't bother, I've been scrolling through the comment section, seeing several people respectfully and civilly pointing out flaws in his strat, and his only response is to spew childish insults and tell ppl to follow his instructions, instead of taking criticism like an adult. This start will not work for everyone.
I personally found it simpler to distract him with my crystalian spirit ash, while I stayed behind him the entire fight, spamming swarm of flies, and the Rivers of Blood ability instead of using bloodhound step whatsoever. I won't make any guarantees, but feel free to test that out if it works for you

@@BManOfficialTH-camChannel it didn’t work for me, I tried what you said in the video and pinned comment but the shit was not hitting him at all it hit him maybe once or twice in the 10+ times I casted it.
@@wearenotyourkind666 dude have a lil common sesne if its not hitting get a lil closer 🙃 cast and make him do a lunge attack and he ends up in like 3 swarms at once .. just think a lil bit dude its dead simple you are just making it harder because u are doing it brainlessly
@@BManOfficialTH-camChannel I got him with rivers of blood which is found to be easier because you can use the horse. I wasn’t trying to knock your strategy just was saying it didn’t work out for me I mean it worked a little but yea I guess you’re right I wasn’t doing it right. I’ll try this method again in NG+ though

Two weeks I’ve been stuck got so pissed I stopped playing for a week 😂 scarlet rott was too slow he killed me every time I tried
