Good day! Does my unsupported 6.5inch phone fits? I don't need the oculus app, I just want to know if it fits. Some says it won't because samsung gear vr can only support up to 6.4inch, is there any adjustments I can do to deal with that (.1inch?). Some tech youtuber said it will fit while other says it won't, Im so confused😵. And Lastly if it fits, can I still connect the samsung gear vr controller in my android phone without the oculus? I already have the (apk) daydream games so I'm hoping it would work. I'm really expecting some answers, I really need some help from a legit tech vr expert. My phone is realme C3, I know it doesn't support and I just want it to fit, but the screen might be too big. I really hope you have read this far, Please reply😭.
Hi @Nina Muje, Please check your incompatible phone's dimensions on XDA developers. If it's under or near 153.2 x 76.1 x 7.6 mm, then it could fit the gear vr. You said you have the app for it. I assume it is supposed to sync directly with the phone and not the gear VR. As far as I know, incompatible phones doesn't connect or work with Samsung gear vr. However, if you got succesful connecting the controller with your phone then you can expect the gear VR to function like a google cardboard or the shincon VR. The headmovements, gestures stuff will be on your phone to handle only. Hope that clears your confusions.

Will on work on a regular bluetooth controller, because I got the daydream vr "The Arcslinger" and it wokrs on my phone,(although it's only an apk and an obb file) Please reply, if the bluetooth controller works for that daydream vr game then i would get the Bobo Vr Z6 as it fits my phone,. Good and informative video. Didn't know about active and passive VR boxes earlier. Was just about to buy the cheap VR box.. Now thanks to you I saved some money. Will have to check if somehow I can fit my Honor Phone in Gear VR... 😝
There is not any kind of connection (Via USB/Bluetooth etc, wired/wireless) between your phone and shincon VR. So, lagging has nothing to do with the Shincon VR. Lags might be due to some other stuff on your phone... I hope this could clarify your doubts. Thanks ☺️

What I meant so is that, Shincon VR is just like a window between your eyes - display. Whatever you feel solely depends upon your phone.

Hi, great video! Are you sure that Gear VR doesn't work with other android phone? I read some review that the control is communicating well with Pixel phones, I wonder if it's true or not. I really want to test it myself if only I had the headset in hand.
Cheap VR headsets, including cardboard ones, do provide depth, with the right apps or videos. It's not magnificent but does do the trick (including supporting 360deg views and such)
Gear VR provides better sense of illusion however humans looks too big to be perceived as if they are actually in front of u. So, you would have a better experience in gear VR but not too much realistic as well. The Shincon VR is just okay; not great.

Samsung gear has biggest defect that it doesn't support all devices
Phone VR is great but VR in a PC or an Oculus Quest is something completely different.

Gear VR provides better sense of illusion however humans looks too big to be perceived as if they are actually in front of u. So, you would have a better experience in gear VR but not too much realistic as well. The Shincon VR is just okay; not great.
