I like a DT8 or DT10 crankbait in 7'-10' around reefs and drop offs. Once you find one, try a tube. Also could be time to throw a topwater like a whopper plopper.
Up on leech right now. I believe was saying water temp was higher 60s trying to catch my first small mouth. Any technique recommendations or anything to steer me in a solid direction
I’m gonna be fishing today at leech. What do you recommend. I was thinking a rapala like you but not sure. I’m not new to fishing as you can see by my pfp
What lure should I be using for spawning bass
Personally, I try to leave the spawners alone. We typically switch to Largemouth when the female smallmouth are on beds.
What lure should I use right after spawning is done and when would you say it’s done

@@philreels do you got any specific spots on the lake by two point. On leech. Been trying to find a spot there. If not is there any spots by it.
So what would you recommend tommarow
Also the depth
We are coming up in late September. I've never fished leech before. We will be after smallmouth bass. Could you give me some tips? Thanks.
Should I be fishing rocks or pencil weeds right now
Seems like Leech has every species worth chasing!
I don't disagree. It's a top 5 lake in MN for Bass, muskie & walleye imo. Some nifty panfish too.
What is the best type of structure of area to target smallmouth on leech I have a high school tournament coming up on leech lake soon
Shallow boulders right now, adjacent mid-depth boulders very soon
@@philreels thx what part of the lake is the most populated with boulders
@@jamesbartholemu4936 The whole south shore of the main lake, from Stony Point to Bear Island.
@@philreels would a good depth be from 12-18 feet
Right now 3'-6' in a week or so more like 6'-10'

They are finishing up the spawn now. I don't target them much on beds, but a ned rig or tube is probably hard to beat.
@@philreels thank you!
How long do you anticipate this bite to last?
They'll be on beds by the end of May, I like to leave them alone when they're on beds.
@@philreels What's the water temp now? Heading to Leech on June 6th for two weeks.
@@flackattack9635 Mid 50's. Largemouth water is in the 60's though.
Hey do you got any tips on what to use or want to look for to catch the Smalleys in late June because I have a tournament coming up
The mayflies will be hatching. I'd throw a topwater until I found them, have a ned rig tied on.

Topwater time right now
