Join me casting a Ned Rig and Jerkbait on a mid-November day on Dale Hollow Reservoir Tennessee. Forward facing sonar was utilized some, but casting a jerkbait on wind-blown structure can produce mixed bags including: walleye, smallmouth bass, spotted bass and crappies.

Awesome work man. New subscriber here. Keep up the great work and tight lines bud.
Thank you!
Nice mixed bag! Heading to dale after christmas from a few hours north any pointers on which section of the lake to fish this time of year?
I'm mostly familiar with mid-lake. Mid or Lower end is good in the winter, bluffs or main channel swings are a good place to start. Where creek arms split look for shad as well. Wolf creek area is where I'd start. Good luck!
Enjoyed the video! Was wondering what boat ramp did you put in at! Do you have any suggestions on where to stay? Thanks
I launched at Lillydale. The cabins at Willow Grove are great. The State Resort Park on the KY side is really nice.
Where did you buy the heat sheild for the wood stove?
I don't remember lol....but if you google "hot tent stove jack" quite a few come up. I had a canvas guy sew it to some nylon and velcro so it fit the otter window.
What creek was that?
Oh my God capt Phil that is a monster good for you bro unbelievable how big smallmouth bass have gotten in this country the past 10 yrs. Just treamendus,
What area of the leech lake has the biggest population of smallmouth
The south shore of the main lake
How deep are the small mouth. And when will it change
15' is a good place to look right now. In September they tend to make some shallow movements.
I just made my first trip to Leech. What an amazing looking lake. I was so lost though.
Hey bro that's your first time there do some more homework about leech I can't wait to move up there. You have to learn the lake you'll do better the next you go there . I like tube and grub fishing on jig heads and those smallies hammer those jerkbaits up there .
Is there any good spots very close or in two point. Got a cabin and been having trouble finding fish and what depth and where it. Thanks
The outside edge of shallow boulders right now.
What lure should I use right after spawning is done and when would you say it’s done
I like a DT8 or DT10 crankbait in 7'-10' around reefs and drop offs. Once you find one, try a tube. Also could be time to throw a topwater like a whopper plopper.
@@philreels do you got any specific spots on the lake by two point. On leech. Been trying to find a spot there. If not is there any spots by it.
What lure should I be using for spawning bass
Personally, I try to leave the spawners alone. We typically switch to Largemouth when the female smallmouth are on beds.
thanks phil!
Will be there in a couple weeks, seen any tarpon?
I'm back in MN, but there should be Tarpon everywhere now.
Cool video!
Thank you!
Great fishing bud. Looks like Tarpon Bay. One of my fav spots with right conditions. Gold spoon. A classic lure very underused these days. Nice job
Thanks!
What island is this?
Sanibel area
Beauty Redfish...Haha! you from Canada? Great Action man. Thx for sharing!
Northern MN is close to Canada lol Must be the hockey speak lol
love the video keep it up you deserve more views
Thank you!
Use pliers to remove treble hooks…….you might get fish hooked if you are not careful. OUCH!!!
The pliers actually got a work-out in this video, used them on all fish with the exception of two dinks. Fair comment though, hooks hurt.
@@philreels I learned my lesson the hard way…….. will always use pliers to unhook fish.
That’s a damn good idea!!
Should I be fishing rocks or pencil weeds right now
We are coming up in late September. I've never fished leech before. We will be after smallmouth bass. Could you give me some tips? Thanks.
So what would you recommend tommarow
Also the depth
I’m gonna be fishing today at leech. What do you recommend. I was thinking a rapala like you but not sure. I’m not new to fishing as you can see by my pfp
Topwater time right now
Hey do you got any tips on what to use or want to look for to catch the Smalleys in late June because I have a tournament coming up
The mayflies will be hatching. I'd throw a topwater until I found them, have a ned rig tied on.
What is the best type of structure of area to target smallmouth on leech I have a high school tournament coming up on leech lake soon
Shallow boulders right now, adjacent mid-depth boulders very soon
@@philreels thx what part of the lake is the most populated with boulders
@@jamesbartholemu4936 The whole south shore of the main lake, from Stony Point to Bear Island.
@@philreels would a good depth be from 12-18 feet
Right now 3'-6' in a week or so more like 6'-10'
Up on leech right now. I believe was saying water temp was higher 60s trying to catch my first small mouth. Any technique recommendations or anything to steer me in a solid direction
They are finishing up the spawn now. I don't target them much on beds, but a ned rig or tube is probably hard to beat.
@@philreels thank you!
Seems like Leech has every species worth chasing!
I don't disagree. It's a top 5 lake in MN for Bass, muskie & walleye imo. Some nifty panfish too.
How long do you anticipate this bite to last?
They'll be on beds by the end of May, I like to leave them alone when they're on beds.
@@philreels What's the water temp now? Heading to Leech on June 6th for two weeks.
@@flackattack9635 Mid 50's. Largemouth water is in the 60's though.
Nice fish man. A buddy and me are headed to Watts Bar from NC in April. We’ll be staying at Arrowhead. I’ve picked out some spots on Navionics and we are excited. Any advice you can offer? We will try and get some skips below the dam. Otherwise, we’ll use white no perch we bring or whatever else we can find.
Fresh skipjack can't be beat. Big Fish Outfitters in Loudon sometimes has frozen.
@@philreels thanks for the tip. It’s about a 4 hr trip. We are leaving early to fish below Watts Bar damn and hopefully get lucky on some skips before checking in.
you have a clicker on that level wind ?
Yep. Original Abu Revo Toro 60, have loud clickers.
check out this huge crappie!! th-cam.com/video/0NYqTE1DE4s/w-d-xo.html

Thanks!
Nice video ...what was the name of that lure you caught all them on ???
Jackall Rerange 110
Looks like a blast!
Looks like a good trip to the Hollow.
Good work Phil looks like fun
Amazing video, thanks for posting it!
Please don't handle sturgeon like this...by the gills. I learned how harmful this can be right after this catch.
This is going to be a hard one if I was to go try Muskie Fishing and I wanted to go to WI since it's closer drive, you had to choose a Date to go for a 3 day trip what time of year would your go and what lures to take ? With a limit of 9 lures 3 bucktails what color three plugs and colors and three soft plastics. I said this would be hard but for the average person this is a great start all for a One Rod Muskie fisherman.
I was wondering if the fall is so fast and triggering a strike with the split tail would Blade Baits not be a great choice also since there fast on the up and fall ? Or is there a better time to use Blade Baits ? I like the pool showing what is going on with the baits.
I Reed to try more blade baits in the lake, have only used them in rivers for walleyes!
Yes! Blade are killer in the early spring! Do it.. helps to put a little scent on it also.
Thanks and keep the Walleye videos coming. What lb test Braid do you run on a Rod that is ML extra fast action and a M extra fast action ? For Jigging Rods. TC
Heading up to the Boundary waters next week, any suggestions on color. Also, do you recommend certain line type/lb test? The water we're going to fish is crystal clear. Thank you - Gone Fishin'!
We got a runner!!!😆
Thanks for this tip....hope to fish Leech Lake next year.
WOW! Leech Crappies are so nice if ya can find’m.
