@@Ace_Gaming4 To add to that, we are probably never getting something dark for a larger part of a region. Since it does not really fit with genshin ascetic fantasy feel. But we will likely have smaller parts of the region with it sorta like the chasm is a darker part of liyue. I feel like it looks like genshin, but there are no characters, so it looks weird. Also, those Pokémon things are probably some region type travel system. Since it is very vertical. Going for a dark theme for a whole region would have been truly a bold move.
@@arthena2130Counterpoint: Khaenri’ah It will be a full playable nation at some point and I can’t imagine it not being dark and grim there. I feel like Hoyo is saving the darkness for then. It’ll be a huge contrast from the rest of the game and therefore be more impactful. That at least makes sense to me.
@@Melotaku The fact that Kanriah should see the original sky. We don't know how dark of a place it will be. It used to be a prosperous kingdom and is not upside down. It is celestia that has turned Teyvat upside down. Meaning it must look really strange to kanriahns and everyone outside Teyvat as well if they can see Teyvat. This does imply that the siblings came from under Teyvat and not above as well. But Kanariah should have a regular sky that is more expansive than Teyvats imitation of a sky.
There will be dark regions in Natlan too don't worry " Mare Jivari" one of the darkest and most unfortunate places in Teyvat resides in Natlan so don't worry about it and also geography wise Natlan is I think the second biggest nation after Snenznaya...This was just a teaser...!!!!
Thoughts on Natlan? for me it was such a departure to what i imagined it looking from what all the characters in the game described it as, but in a good way?
"all the characters in the game describe it..." Are we playing the same game? Only like two characters mentioned Natlan before the guy in the current event. Then what we have is bits here and there that people used to fill in a fanfic picture of a war-torn land. I don't know why anyone was expecting Natlan not to be beautiful and vivid, when all other nations have been that way. Even Inazuma, which was literally in a civil war when we arrived.
I find it confusing how people are so shocked at Natlan's reveal, it's Genshin Impact. The way they tend to make their story dark isn't evident from purely looking at it, it's in the story and elements under the surface. The region is based off of Latin America so of course it is going to embody some elements of the geography there. Of course, there are also other parts of the region that might be fiery and darker, but they aren't going to show that in the first look of the region. Genshin has to appeal to a wider audience, casual fans might not enjoy the darker elements, which is why they will likely be added and revealed later on into the story. By no means am I trying to call people who are disappointed with the reveal stupid, I'm just trying to shed another perspective :)
While i can't speak for everybody I'm personally not disappointed, just rather surprised, it does look very cool, i just hope it will have at least some elements of "darkness" to it and wont be all rainbows and stuff :)
@@UltimateGenosyko By no means did I intend to imply that a casual audience would enjoy something "bland and juvenile", in fact I would argue that Genshin strives for the opposite. By making the game design as bright and colorful as they have in this preview, they're opening up the game to new audiences who might not be as familiar with the game and its theme. I'm not saying casual players wouldn't enjoy something darker, its just that typically Genshin isn't seen as an outwardly dark game. If people are seeking explicit dark material, there is a wealth of other games for people to explore.

to be honest the new region looks very... cocomelon aka this is NOT Natlan. maybe a part of it but it has to be the 4.8 limited time map otherwise this region 100% won't do so good if that makes sense
it's defiantly Natlan alright, but maybe they just bating us with these shots and then the full release will be much more darker region? it will be interesting to see where they go with this, because it sure is not what i expected, while i kinda like it, i would still prefer the horror stories described by other characters version :)
why are some of yall assuming the whole nation is like this. yall know how much variety be in these locations by now. surely yall didnt think the entire place would be a hellscape?
@@angelmidknight3119 bc in my opinion this looks like it was made in a week, i get the theme but the graphics and textures just don't remotely compare to what we've seen even in mondstadt.. at least that's what i think. aside from the dragons ofc

@@figaro5376it's based on prehispánica cultures and Latin America. Why would it not be colorful? All our culture and nature is like that.
