Incredibly impressive! Such a creative visualization. I can think of tons of business sectors who could make use of such a visual. Damn, now I need to learn Autocad in addition to SQL, Power BI, DAX, and Python!?!? Us analysts are a different breed... We are the modern day "Renaissance Man" Great job!!
I've diligently followed your solution, downloading the dashboard and updating the access token, style ID, and tileset IDs. While the tileset loads successfully, regrettably, the map style doesn't, and I'm currently grappling with identifying the underlying issue. I appreciate your help in advance
Hi, if you followed the same exact steps it should work unless you have a firewall issue. If you like download the style and the dashboard and share a link with me and will have a look
Hello 👋, please start with this tutorial: Power BI Magic: Transform CAD Drawings Into Dynamic Dashboards - P1 | NextGen BI Guru th-cam.com/video/Kixp2gsgkzw/w-d-xo.html
Thank you so much for the best tutorial. I've tried it step by step. however, I'm facing a problem. I'm encountering an issue with a Mapbox custom style in Power BI, and I'd appreciate any help or insights from the community. When attempting to use a Mapbox custom style URL in my Power BI report, I consistently receive the error message: "Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'composite')." could you please advise me?
Hi there, thank you for the feedback. For the error you are getting, there might be few reasons: - Could be firewall blocking the communication. - Style URL format must be (mapbox://styles/username/style_id) or Access token might be incorrect - Make sure to turn off the circle from the visual format if you don't have coordinates - Version compatibility, have you tried to use the same exact style I included in the description? if not, please start from there and update it. Also, check if Mapbox visual version is the same used in this tutorial. if not, try to download the same dashboard shown in the tutorial and update the access token, style ID and tileset IDs. Hope this helps.
I appreciate your advice, I could load the tileset but for tile style, it gives me the mentioned error. I could not figure out what I could do about it?
Hello Will, thanks for your comment. It is possible to achieve something similar with ArcGIS if you are using enterprise license you can link one of your existing maps: I highlighted this in one of the previous tutorials (Learn how to add Dynamics Maps in Power BI - 4 awsome Map visuals! 📍🗺️ th-cam.com/video/SDaBfIsu4eY/w-d-xo.html) For google earth, there is a new visual from Dynamica lab (www.dynamicalabs.com/google-maps-for-power-bi), I haven’t fully checked it because it seems that the advanced features require license. The only open source map (that I know) allows you to get this kind of details is Mapbox. It is free up to 50000 map loads.
Nice video! But i have a question. How could i add my own style map? (Like de style folder you let in the description. I try to dowload json files but they do not work to me) In my case my autodcad localication is in spain (spain utm zone 30) and when i add my layer they do not appear. Thanks
Hello there. This happens due to version issues usually. Can you try copying the style in the below link to your Mapbox studio: api.mapbox.com/styles/v1/hamzehnawar/clp31bufc01gw01qy2evi8fx5.html?title=copy&access_token=pk.eyJ1IjoiaGFtemVobmF3YXIiLCJhIjoiY2xwMndyeHJ4MDEwNTJrcXgyOHd6ZWN5ayJ9.jF7TP4WtUEYqf8bs1xKf-Q&zoomwheel=true&fresh=true#17.06/24.959932/54.961914/-15.7/3
Thanks!! Now it happens to me that when I add the layers to Mapbox they appear in another location even being well geolocated in AutoCAD. I think it is something in MAPEXPORT, ADESETCRDSYS or GEOGRAPHICLOCATION. I have tried with your program and it works fine, what should I configure to make mine work?

Hello 👋🏼, I am not aware of a direct way to bring google earth file you PBI. However, I suggest to try to import the file to Mapbox then to PBI. Or try Dynamica map visual for PBI, it uses google maps.

Great report and ingenuity! Does it have to be Mapbox or could it be done with ArcGIS or Google Earth?
