Absolutely can relate to all the symptoms. The very first thing is getting dizzy and lightheaded. Everything feels surreal. Then almost immediately my heart stops pounding and at the same time my head and body feels hot. Absolutely the most frightening feeling ever. And after 12-14 yrs im finally learning to accept my anxiety and learning to go with the flow. It’s the way my body is trying to keep me safe I guess. And I talk to my anxiety. I tell it thank you for warning me but im okay. And to leave as soon as possible.. it’s helped me so much.

Relate to depersonalisation, terrifying mixed with health anxiety…brain fog, forgetfulness, feeling intense waves of faintness, some muscle twitching, cognitive function poor - generally feeling like someone has turned my brain off…the pressure…this is just a tiny part of the journey but also such a huge huge part and so debilitating. Sending so much compassion to those on this healing journey, it is so courageous to embark on it but we are doing it. Patience truly is an art. Thank you so much Dennis, always🙏✨💗

1- existential dread & feeling creeped out about everything to the degree I was afraid to be alone (monophobia) and I couldn’t make sense of what it meant to “live a day”.
2- IBS:D symptoms. Frequently visits to bathroom with little movements, churning guts, sweats
3- acid veins or aka ice in the veins often associated with panic attacks from the adrenaline and cortisol release. Feeling it burning my scalp and arms
4- fatigue without the ability to rest without panic attacks or intense jolts & rushes
5- dissociation so bad I had vertigo and couldn’t drive
6- sweaty feet 24/7 my feet felt like they were swimming constantly

  • @jamesridgeway8519

I would say my worst of which there are many are dizziness, chest pressure like it is going to burst, a resting pulse of 120 some days, dry gagging is bad, disassociation unable to communicate, crying for no reason, leg weakness like i will collapse, spasm in the throat and blurry vision. The issue is the symptoms are so scarry that they in themselves trigger a panic response and your now in the never-ending loop. How do you train your brain that dizziness, blurred vision, weak legs and vomiting is something to not be concerned about when everything we ever learn teaches us those symptoms are a stroke/heart attack. That is what holds me back from recovery

My primary symptom is the anticipatory stomach pain and queasiness. I began to numb it with alcohol. Very bad idea because it led to IBS and real digestive issue which brought the anxiety to a head. Your reframing of what anxiety is and the surrender sessions is helping immensely. Now I’m working on quitting the drinking. Oh yeah and I’m moving for a big opportunity. Thank you so much Dennis. All the love and prosperity to you.

I have had dizziness and depersonalization and during panic attacks I would get numb on half of body. That caused me to have echocardiogram and treadmill stress test which were normal as well as CT scan and MRI that were normal. Also had muscle twitching, which I had for years before the other symptoms came. My hands and feet would tingle and BURN all the time. went to see a neurologist and they found a little neuropathy and possibly peripheral vascular disease but nothing too alarming. I had head pressure like you that I thought sinus meds or migraine meds would help, but they didn't. Also had chronic fatigue. Definitely had muscle stiffness and blurry vision. Blurry vision was worse any time I left my house. I was sensitive to light and sound. Stomach sensations as well as sensations in my private area. Like butterflies there and in my limbs as well. Another symptom was random racing heart beat and elevated blood pressure. Which would cause me to panic and just become worse. Went to the emergency room TWICE over this. Also, I've noticed that when I practice mindfulness or meditation with my eyes closed, I have snow, spots and visual disturbances in my vision when I open my eyes. This may be related to something else. Ultimately I'm getting better little by little and day by day. I've had untreated anxiety all my life but just started having panic attacks and constant physical symptoms this past May. Many things are helping. Counseling, your advice, and treatment for several conditions. For anxiety, I'm on Lexapro. I used to have to take a clonazapam every day but it's been weeks at this point. I take gabapentin for some neurological symptoms. I was diagnosed with sleep apnea which causes similar symptoms so I'm on cpap for that. I was discovered to have low vitamin d, so I'm taking that as well as some b complex and magnesium. It's a journey, but I will get there.

I can relate to the constant nervous stomach, makes me feel like I need to use the restroom constantly but I really don’t. That nervousness/uneasiness radiates from my stomach down to my legs which hold tension as well. Then head pressure/chronic fatigue/throat lump all seem to happen at the same time, almost like I’m just exhausted from battling the constant nervousness. Great video.

The mere thought of having an attack, during the late morning hours (9:00-11:30) causes an attack. During this time I eventually believe I am dying, hyperventilating, chills, perspiring, pacing, walking outside and trying the 5 senses reset. All to no avail. I always survive the overwhelming ordeal to only repeat it the next day. I do have a non cancerous tumor, the size of a large pecan. I was assured it played no role. You touched on recall. I can't string 6 words together when addressing someone. Simply adding 2 digit numbers leaves me blank. Thank you to each reader that took the time to read and I hope you understand.

I've been suffering from anxiety and PTSD for the past 12-13 years. Part of my recovery was to change my diet and take some supplements. I am thinking more clearly and am beginning to think rationally. I am hopeful that I will continue to heal and my anxiety will become a distant memory. Your videos are very reassuring!! Dizziness which is always followed by an anxiety attack. It’s happened randomly over the last 3 years & absolutely freaks me out. Also, nervous stomach, chronic fatigue, heart palpitations, trembling. Sometimes I can’t believe this is my life now. I want my old life back. Ive always been such a laid back person. I never would have dreamed this to be my reality. I’ve done so many things to try to get better. Therapy, meds, no caffeine for 2 years, healthy eating, weight loss, etc. I’m so tired.😢

I think your problem is that you are doing things rather than not doing. In my 4 years of depersonalization I realized that acceptance/surrender is the best approach to anxiety symptoms. If you actually want to drink a coffee and you consciously know that you will enjoy it, don't let your fear of anxiety symptoms hold you back.

My reports are normal so its my mind that is playing.

One key thing that I find helps reduce anxiety in regular life is to remember that inaction is the soil in which fear grows. So very often, people are coming up into a moment when they need to make a decision. And then the delusion that we slip into is we tell ourselves, "I think I need to think through this more."
So we avoid the decision. We put that burden on our future selves. We create a situation where we're taking up more ram in our mind, like having more browser windows open in our mind, and then more fear and anxiety and stress occurs as a result.Once you just say, "Okay, you know what? I'm just going to decide. I'm just going to do this. Even though I feel uncertain, even though I'm unsure, I'm just going to go for it and do it and see what happens."
Once you're in the state of taking action, you'll be amazed at how much fear reduces. So you want to build the muscle of taking action even though you feel fearful anyway, and then fear will dissipate.

Thank you! My symptoms are feeling the static vibrations in my body when I’m resting. It’s mostly around my chest area which makes me become concerned for my heart. I worry that it’s working too hard for me. I then acknowledge that my heart is doing what it needs to do for my benefit and the best I can do is remain calm and let it. Usually if I can relax enough and tell my body I’m not in danger, the vibrations will slow or almost even stop, and that’s when I feel the heart palpitations, or skipped beats. Also a scary feeling but again I try to recognize that my heart is trying to get into a balanced rhythm and knows best what to do. I think the scariest part is waking up in this vibration. I don’t know what causes that. If I was dreaming and anxious or if my body is trying to release something? I feel pretty good through out the day. Living a pretty relaxing life now. When I recognize muscle stiffness it’s usually if I’m stressed so I will notice it and tell my body to relax and release. I’ve had a few more of the other symptoms like the dizziness, unable to see clearly. (Sensitivity to loud sounds and noises m, especially trying to rest, wasn’t mentioned here but I’ve heard you mention it before. Definitely had been an issue for me but has gotten better.)

Thank you, Dennis, for all you do. I’ve never felt understood by anyone - spouse, doctors, etc. - about my health anxiety, but hearing you talk about the very symptoms I’ve had makes me feel not alone and like I’m not crazy. I just completed week 2 of your program. Little by little I’m healing. All of my symptoms are still there, but I’m working on it daily.
One question I have is that I often get a symptom when not in a conscious time of worry. It might even be in a happy or relaxing time. Maybe just finished dinner with my family, or sitting down in the evening to watch tv with my wife. I’ll start getting the head pressure/buzzing or hard heartbeat. Do you have any insight about the timing of symptoms? I’m also trying to wrap my head around the past trauma. I don’t have any to speak of. I didn’t have a great childhood; non-emotional parents. I don’t know if there’s trauma that I’ve maybe blocked out, but that’s another area where when you mention past trauma or pain, I try to see if I can attribute it to myself or not. Again, thank you for helping me on my road to recovery!

Hello Dennis, I can relate to many of these symtpoms, especially to dizziness, muscle twitching, mental fog and chronic fatigue. There' s one more symptom I unfortunately developed and that is breathing issue. Since May I' ve had shortness of breath, yawning etc.etc. Last week I visited a pneumophthisiologist and he told me that he is 99% sure that my breathing issue comes from my psyche but since I failed one test, he gave me asthma pump just in case. Today I' ve had a nice and productive day at work, but later on when I lied down I felt enormous muscle twitching which freaked me out and I couldn' t understand where it came from when I had a nice time. Somehow, your experience where you said that twitches got worse when you rested consoled me. Dennis, a lot of things are settling down in my life both at work and in my private life. I don' t want my past traumas and symtpoms that I have to deter me from this wonderful opportunities. I always keep in my mind your sentences that we have " a life to live" and that we are" more than anxiety". Thank you for your support and everything you have given to us. I believe in my complete healing and I started fantasizing about living normal life and getting what I deserve in my life- love, peace, healthy relationship. I am more than anxiety, I am a limitless human being who has so many things to offer to this world. Keep making videos that are so useful to us. I am sending you love and gratitude from Serbia

I feel it most when I’m in open spaces or up high in anyway. I feel as though I lose all sense of up/down and can not feel that I’m even on the ground.

My anxiety journey has reached a point of me being able to accept it for what it is and living life instead if fearing my days.... however my set backs are because i tend to personalize others real life health situations. Example: when panic set in 3 years ago it was heart health.. and now when i hear stories i internalize it and my brain goes to "but what if?" And it takes me a few days to get back on track... more often during the times when my hormones are naturally fluctuating.. id love to figure out how to better maintain during certain times of the month

But there are more and more moments that i feel more centered. In my healing journey now i still work on trust. Trusting in my own body and not believing in the stories i have been telling myself over and over again. Could you make a episode about the stories you tell yourself and how you learn to trust in your own recovery?

Guilt & blame. HUGE components for me, at the core of this. It's a narrative loop that replays through my mind. Any issue in my family: "I DID this TO them, during my military career, because of how non-present and self absorded I was," etc. The one thing in my life which I should be most proud of became something I've grown to hate due to the guilt I now associate with it. Bummer too, because in the recent past when I had made great progress on my healing journey, I thought I had attained self forgiveness, but apparently that was temporary.

Definitely relate to the dizziness and fog/haziness. I wake up trembling and shaky and when I have to be in public. I have muscle tension/stiffness all over but not as much muscle twitching. Definitely have a nervous and knot in my stomach. Definitely have had brain zaps. They are horrid. Head pressure feels like I need to pop my ears. The heart beating hard is definitely a tough one for me too. I definitely have the chronic fatigue that needs to go. It’s exhausting to deal with all of this!
