    • @kibblenbits
      @kibblenbits 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The thing is, they wouldn't be able to file Chapter 7, which is the one where you're absolved of the debt's, as they'd have to pay the entire fee up front, which would cost thousand's. They also have too much income, and you can never file bankruptcy on any student loan debt. They would have to file Chapter 13, which requires you to have your paycheck(s) garnished, by the court, to pay the monthly bankruptcy costs, the debt, and the court appoint's a Trustee to oversee the disbursement of funds to creditor's. They'd also have to meet the repayment plan required in the bankruptcy code's, which is under federal law, not state. So, if they qualified (I doubt they would), they'd end up with it showing on their credit report for 10 years (it would be hard to find any place that would rent to them, except a slum lord), and they'd be left with a lot less money to live on, along with having to still pay the student loan's. If she actually work's in a bank, as she stated, she should know this. I think this entire call is a bunch of BS.

    The thing that most people forget is to be grateful. Sometimes we forgot how grateful our life is, we keep focusing on things that not necessary in life, impressing people for nothing.
    I've had a situation when I was left with 80$ in my bank account, I didn't have any debt, I'm living as frugal as I can, eating only cereal in the morning, skipping lunch, and eating a $3 burger for dinner. So, be grateful people, lesson learned.

    Let me hazard a guess, the reason she is adamant about not filing bankruptcy is because she used her influence at the bank to obtain those $150k in personal loans and if she defaults, there are going to be some folks, including her, with their behinds in the blender.
