      It would be more engaging if each video started by showing your current official handicap, since that’s the story we’re following: the journey from a 54 handicap down to zero. Sometimes it will go up, and sometimes it will go down, and that’s perfectly fine-golf isn’t a linear path. Without a metric showing progress on the course, it’s hard to follow the journey. Best of luck with the injuries; they’re a real bummer. Mats can be tough, so maybe focus on playing more practice rounds. Lastly, consider taking the time to heal up. Your body might start compensating in strange ways if you’re trying to train through pain. Keep up the good work, and thanks for the content!

    Great stuff guys! Your swing has come a LONG way man and all of your hard work and dedication is paying off. I’ve learned so much as well watching all of these videos. Now, have a I implemented all of this into my swing? No! 😂 It has taught me more about what I need to picture or feel in my swing. I’m 51 and my best round is 74…That was about 1 years ago. Yesterday, I had an absolute blow out round- I threw 4 clubs beyond return. 😂 Two in the woods about 30yds deep and two in the water. Today was an expensive day at the PGA STORE. Golf will humble you real quick and you’ve gotta learn how to manage the game to succeed. Thanks for all you do and thanks to your coaches as well. Continued success and hopefully one day you’ll shoot a 72 or better. 🙏 🇺🇸 ⛳️

    The comment about feeling like you shifting your torso back on the back swing might have gotten my game back on track. I shot a 39 on the front 9 of a difficult course today with that swing thought in mind. Also, I used the vanilla chip video comment about how when pro’s chips and pitch the club head goes about past waste high at finish….pluuussss all the other knowledge I’ve been applying for 6 years.

    I can personally attest to the no mats portion. I bent my 8 iron getting too steep in the downswing. I didn't realize it until I went to hit it during a round. When I looked down at address it looked weird. Definitely hit the grass range. I can't speak to LA. I haven't lived there in almost 30 years. Great lesson. I grew up learning to play with persimmon woods and blade irons from the 30's. I didn't have a driver, so I exclusively hit a 3 wood. To this day my 3 wood is my favorite club to hit. So many different shots you can play with it.

      A lesson is not much more than a round of golf. Take one at your local course. You will be amazed. I struggled for 3 years thinking I could get by on athleticsm and random tips. Took two lessons, spent 3 weeks just practicing what I learned before I played again and it was night and day difference in consistency. Should have taken a lesson from the beginning. Think of all those rounds that could have been better. Just do it.

      Yeah I agree. I really only focus on my alignment, grip, and setup. The rest of the swing takes care of itself. I like to feely hips over my ankles and my feet are really gripping the ground before I initiate my swing. Athletic motion golf has helped me a lot.

    That’s funny, our local range is all mats. I very rarely hit my irons on them. I use my wedges and woods. I’ll bring 3 irons and rotate which 3 every time. But typically I’ll hit 3-5 balls with each and that’s it. Never thought about the fact the mat could be changing loft and lie though. Was more because I need the least practice with them, but it’s good to know

    It was pretty funny to hear you say you're hitting the ball too far, and over the green. 99% of golfers want to hit it further, plus 90% of golfers underclub and hit it too short. You'll learn your club distances by playing. I liked your video of playing a round. Play to learn. There's a whole world of golf you haven't discovered yet: weather, wind, bad lies, downhill, trees, other players, tough holes, pressure, etc. Range time can only teach you swing fundamentals. Golf is a complete mastery of all the elements.

    SO thats what I lost in past year, the hip hinge. I always would see pros head dip and mine would dip also but never realized why. Its the hip hinge making them drop in height. I became too static because how many times you hear: "Keep the head still!" No no no the head is still once the that transition is done and then the body torques and rotates while the head is still looking at the ball until impact. I guess I got afraid of chunking it if I dip too deep but the chunk wont happen because the hands go more in front thus reducing the distance between the hands and the ground. Basically I became a flipper and lost yardage, got too much height and started thinning it. Golf... You might be doing something great and not knowing it but eventually you might lose it.

    Big piece of advice here from an ex-college player that had a homemade swing with no coaching. If you are going down the fundamental route like my teammate who is trying to qualify for high level amateur stuff now instead of playing 45+ holes a day hoping that gets you good enough like I did when I was younger, you are going to need a few items.
    Get a set of 5-7 used clubs as range clubs and place trainer grips on them. Get something to place between your arms at address to keep your structure (Tour striker ball esque item). And lastly get a golf rope and do a bunch of step drills with it (Dr Kwon explains it well) to help your swing rhythm and weight transfer. You already film your swing so I won't get into that, but please stay away from diagnosing every single swing look at one every 10-20 otherwise overthinking will happen.
    Then if you have to hit balls at the range, find a short tee and try to pick them even with irons and wedges this will help with low point control. Always pose after a swing even if it's bad contact to feel your weight distribution. And lastly go to every range session with a plan of specific clubs w/ trainer grips, yardages, and drill you are trying to get better at.
    If you do this every day or two you should drastically get better, even more so than you are now which is saying something considering the progress you've made.

  • @FranzPaul-l3t
    @FranzPaul-l3t 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    My problem isn't early extension. I can hit the ball like Dana asks you to hit it, with that wrist action. My problem is my shots start straight but hook/draw too much that my ball is landing in the deep left rough. How did you stop that over-drawing? When I'm 125 out, hitting a full PW to the green, I have to line up to a target 15 yards right of the right edge of the green. You at 27:24 mark is me on the course. Do you have a video showing drills to straighten that?

    • @danielloh3025
      @danielloh3025 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@FranzPaul-l3t if your shot start straight but hook too much then your club path is 0 degree which is good but your clubface is too close at impact.
      Look at your right hand grip and whether it is too under the club. If it is, try weakening the right hand grip and have the V pointing to your chin or even left shoulder. This is one possible problem ..
      Also try not to bow that left wrist like what Jerome does or what Dana is getting Jerome to do.. this is nonsense if you doesn’t match it correctly .. just try it using your setup and get into impact with a bow left wrist. Do you see the clubface pointing left? If it is then it could also be a problem too. Just stick to at most a flat left wrist will do .. in fact it doesn’t even need to be flat.
      See if the above minor fixes helps .. 🙂

    I can see why you have a lot of trouble.
    You're thinking about contact, but the coach is addressing consistency. Contact can be learned later via ball positioning, grip style, and body tilt. You're simply thinking, oh that didn't work so I need to make adjustments.
    Stop thinking about micro adjustments to get contact. You need to think differently.
