Fantastic Beasts and where to find them is a textbook students at Hogwarts are required to have for the Care of Magical Creatures subject (one of the Five subjects of choice at Hogwarts, years 3 to 7). Events in this movie start taking place in the USA around November 1926, Voldemort is born on December 31, 1926, in London. Frank is a Thunderbird, they can create storms, and Thunderbird is also the name of one of the 4 houses at Ilvermorny.
I don’t mean to be THAT guy🤣 but in Deathly Hallows Part 1, Grindlewald was imprisoned in Nurmengard Castle, not Azkaban👌🏻 just a little fun fact😎 Great reaction as always though guys, can’t wait to see “The Crimes of Grindlewald” 🙌🏻🤩
The sign of the Deathly Hollows was known to be Grindelwald's sign. In the 7th book Viktor Krum was very angry with Xenophilius Lovegood (Luna's father) because he was wearing the symbol that had come to be associated with the Dark Wizard Gellert Grindelwald. Of course we know that Lovegood's reasons had nothing to do with Grindelwald!
Having read the books after watching all the movies I was really happy to come across so many surprises that made sense, finding out the symbol for the Deathly Hallows was used a terror sign by Grindlewald all over Durmstrang and it got known as Grindelwalds sign was awesome So seeing Graves with the symbol didnt for a moment make me connect him to Grindlewald so the end was a surprise
Pure-blood A witch or wizard of 'pure' wizarding ancestry, without any Muggle ancestors whatsoever as far as can be determined. Half-blood A witch or wizard with at least one wizarding parent but at least one Muggle parent or grandparent. Muggle-born Wizarding person born of two Muggle parents. (But one of this Muggle Parents NEED to have had a Pure-blood Ancestry that gave birth to a Squib that in his or her turn had Muggles. Squib A non-magic person born of Wizarding parents, a much rarer phenomenon than a Muggle-born witch or wizard. There you have how it works :)
@@sleepyfox8983 I meant racist as in the xenophobic way, as in the demographic of muggle borns the user of the term only uses it with one intention, to belittle and demean other witches and wizards for reasons no one can control

Half-blood is the name given to wizards and witches who had known Muggle or Muggle-born parents or grandparents. So Harry is a half blood. The children Harry and Ginny have together will still be half bloods as well Pure bloods are wizards whose parents, grandparents and great grandparents were all wizards where they had no claims of having any muggles or muggle born wizards in their family. Wizards like the Malfoys, Weasleys, or Prewetts. Muggle Borns are wizards that are born from no magical parents. So hermoine is a muggle born. When Hermione and Ron have kids their kids would be half bloods because Hermione is muggle born just like Harry's mother. Although if you go back several generations back through any family history in muggle Borns, half bloods and pure blood families you most likely can find muggles, muggle Borns and squibs through their family trees that have long been forgotten.
Great points that I was going to say about Harry being a half blood, just like Voldemort and Snape, very powerful half bloods But the levels the pure blood fanatics go to to stay pure, Sirius' grand parents are first cousins for example. The weasley family is connected to the Blacks and we know that a Black married into the Malfoys so the selection pool isn't that big Hagrid was right when he said most wizards are half blood or less now, except for america at this point due to the salem witch trials
@@more-reasons6655 Yep the pool is very small and the war against dark wizards definitely don't help much either. It makes the pool even smaller for pure bloods if they are looking for pure blooded wizarding families to marry into that aren't in Azkaban or have been killed from war. So moving forward alot of wizards will half blood as the majority because you are going to need to keep the wizarding race going. Also did they mention the Salem's witch trials in the fantastic beasts movies I can't remember. Because that's a valid reason to say why they don't want wizards in America to date muggles (sounds better than no maj I mean come on😅) and why they are still sticking to that rather than saying they are just backwards in the US.
@@lateshapowell31 I dont think they directly say salem witch trials in the movie but the orphanage crazy lady was giving that vibe on the stairs to the bank and handing out pamphlets showing what to look out for on a witch Americans as a culture just wasnt ready to conform to normality at this point and were still finding their nationality after the first world war, so makes sense their fear of otherness, also they couldnt risk widespread panic and death for even friendship, which is bigoted and just plain sad
Dumbledore and Grindelwald were friends when they were young. We learn a lot about that in the 7th book! Grindelwald went to stay with his great aunt, Bathilda Bagshot (remember her from the 7th HP-film?) in Godric's Hollow. Both of them were very smart and they shared/discussed their visions for the magic world. They became obsessed with the powerful objects known as the Deathly Hallows. One day Aberforth (Albus' younger brother) intervened and the 3 of them began to duel. Unfortunately Ariana (Albus' and Aberforth's younger sister) got killed. None of them know for sure who's spell hit her. It could be either one of them. After this the friendship between Grindelwald and Dumbledore ended... I would really recommend reading book 6 and 7 (all of them actually..) because there are so much background information about Voldemort (half of book 6 is about Voldemort's life as a teen and young adult - when he was still Tom Riddle). In book 7 we learn about Dumbledore's past and his relationship with Grindelwald. It is very interesting and good to know when watching the next to "fantastic beasts"-film.
Wizards were not allowed relationships with no majs as a way to ensure no majs never find out about magic. American muggles were more adept at spotting magic so it was safer to just stay away completely.
Just to let you know that’s when you see Grindelwald in prison it’s not Azkaban it’s another prison called Nurmengard which is a fortress that used to be Grindelwalds headquarters but after his downfall it was converted into a prison
The Dursley’s aren’t musters xD They had a grudge against the magical world literally cus Harry’s mom got to go to magic school and Petunia didnt get magic n was rejected from going to magic school, she held on to that and Vernon supports his wife so his prejudice is his lol (good husband, terrible uncle lol) Harry’s mom got magic, this does mean that Somewhere along the line Dudley’s descendants have a chance to become Muggle Born. Somewhere in there family on Petunia’s side had magic. Harry’s mom was a winner in the lottery of getting it back.
Guys hermione is can be classified as Mudblood but its rude so everyone calls them muggleborns. Weasley, malfoys, blacks are pure blood cause both their parents are wizards. Harry, Snape, Voldy , dumbledore are half bloods, only one family line being wizard. Prof. Filch the caretaker is a squib cause his family is in wizardry but filch never developed magic. Queenie is natural legilimence, meaning she has inherent ability to read minds, while voldemort has learned that ability through dark magic. While snape learnt occlumency, defence against mind reading.
The Lestrange family, Longbottom’s, Ollivander’s, Shacklebolt’s and even Slughorn’s are all pure blooded families too. All a part of the “Sacred 28” original Pureblood families in England. The Potter family was part of it too, but because the name was very common with muggles too, it was taken out of the sacred 28.
Voldemort is also from a pure blooded line as his mother was Merope Riddle (Merope Gaunt), the Gaunt’s also being a part of the Secred 28 and direct descendants of Salazar Slytherin :)
Fun fact.... Wizard live longer than muggles... So Grindlewald would have been pretty dang old when Voldemort came to him... and very plausible that he is over 70 and prolly over 100 actually...
