- The Summer 2021 LEGO Star Wars BAD BATCH Shuttle is highly anticipated by many. With all 5 main member of The Bad Batch (Hunter, Wrecker, Tech, Echo, & Imperial Crosshair) included in LEGO Star Wars Minifigure form, 2 speeder bikes, & a compact Havoc Marauder for only $100. With this new LEGO set in hand I can safely say it doesn't quite meet my expectations as the build, despite its beauty... has some issues. A LEGO GONK Droid remedies all of the issues. Annoying how LEGO makes all new helmet pieces for characters like the Knights of Ren, who no one cares about, but always skimps out on the characters people actually enjoy, like the Bad Batch, Ahsoka, or Bo-Katan.

Although the movie kinda messed up their appearances in movies, I got to say that I do kinda like them
I think if they took out the speeders and used those pieces on the shuttle, this set would've been so much better
I don't think just the value from those speeders could have done much to the shuttle though.

I think this is actually a good build. For $100 the ship looks great and has a pretty good interior, and the 5 minifigs look really good even if Techs helmet is a bit big

Wish tech's helmet worked, and was smaller, plus, lego needs to add antennas to the clone helmets, like wtf, the antenna is such a big part of the helmet. Started with Rex's helmet, and other clones, and now crosshairs. Lego could be much more detailed imo, and they could have kept one speeder for crosshair, but other than that, maybe improve not only the clones, but the GONK droid, and the ship, and this would be maybeeeee $120 or $140 usd. Wish the ships colors were also a grey, instead of a light greyish blue.
This set is pretty swagalicious if I do say so myself

I hate that they printed Crosshair and Hunter’s backpacks because they just don’t look quite right without the backpacks IMO. Wrecker you can’t tell too much. And I feel like Hunter, Crosshair, and Echo should have had special helmets although idk how difficult that would be for lego.
If Crosshair got a helmet for his original armor, it would have to include a rangefinder, which the helmet would probably have holes for. That could’ve been a first step to a phase two Cody…
They did it so the mini figs could fit in the ship

I may only get it for the figures. The Gonk Droids are the most important Star Wars characters in the series. Legos quality is getting cheaper and can’t make a waste cape but is making the sets more expensive

I just feel like Crosshairs armor is just too black, and in the show it had serious gray pigmentation on it

I think sand blue is fine. It’s blue-ish looking enough in the show most of the time, and it adds a bit of variety to those (me) wanting to display it with other shuttles.
This set would be a must buy for me if
1. At least Hunter had his backpack.
2. Crosshair's helmet had a rangefinder.
3. The side parts of the shuttle were stronger.
4. You could fit all 4 Bad Batch members with their backpacks, helmets, weapons, and everything. At least have a storage compartment to store them in.

@@CricetoFunni I mean, I found I was able to fit tech’s blasters, wrecker’s blaster, both knives, and an extra ee-3 style blaster for hunter. I couldn’t fit echo’s pistol though.

I love the sand blue color scheme, a lot of clone wars ships had that aesthetic and they haven’t been translated into LEGO well but the bad batch attack shuttle did it perfectly
With the set soon to retire I figured it was about time I grabbed one. Now I'm doing my tradition of rewatching your review before building it. Thanks for the video!

Lego has just printed backpacks on. This is a new all-time low for Lego.
@MandRproductions, those little bits on the engines are used for Thrust reversal, also called reverse thrust. A pair of hydraulically-operated bucket or clamshell type doors redirect the rearward thrust to slow the craft in conjunction with traditional brakes.
I just got this set recently and started building it tonight. First of all, I've always disagreed with your opinion on the color. There's lots of blue on the shuttle in the show, so it's not entirely inaccurate. It's also a great change-up to the usual gray, gray and more gray of Star Wars sets. I built the speeder bikes so far, and I really like them, especially the green one! Lots of detail on these bikes! Also, I now see that the gray bike is identical to the speeder bike in the 501st trooper set except for different colors.

I like the sand blue colouring of the shuttle, reminds me of the really old star wars sets, when tie fighters were blue and black.
On the back, it is not a tail light, it is Omega's room/viewport for the rear cannons. When the set first got leaked, I remembered seeing the window in the show but not on the set but then I looked at it again and saw that it was there.
The 2010 Palpatine’s Shuttle had a rigid locking mechanism for the top fin so that the whole set could be swooshed from the fin. I don’t understand why they didn’t do something similar with this set
I have that shuttle. My kid flies it around the house holding on to the fin.
He learned the hard way holding it by the cock pit.
That shuttle has crash more times in my house than in the movies
Honestly I love this set from a display perspective. Play, nope, but it looks amazing. I honestly think the speeders are a great addition, idc that it’s a recolor of the 501st one.
I wanted to see the rest of Wreckers printing and I think it’s a new chest piece because I’ve never seen it. Overall great review Ryan!

@@josephtao yeah, the bottom that’s secure and there’s definitely nO chance it could fall out of your hands! Even if you could hold it by the bottom, it still needs to be a lot more sturdy
Something can always fall out of your hands if you hold it the right way.
I wish they did something with echo’s right arm to make it look the way it is in the show. Other than that, he looks great.

I’m ok with the sand blue cuz tie fighters were often depicted sand blue and it looks about the same color as a tie fighter
Hot take: I kinda like the printed backpack, it reminds me of early lego Star Wars minifigs
All in all, I find it interesting that they made this in the same year as the latest Imperial Shuttle, which had a pretty durable build and was easy to grab and swoosh (you could grab it by the vertical fin or by the fuselage from the back). Although admittedly some parts of that set could either come off easily or are not attached in the most secure manner, I think no essential parts, both structurally and aesthetically, were connected attached poorly.

15:06 The whole front end has been bothering me since I first saw the pictures of this set, and it still is at least on screen. The way the printed canopy piece looks feels as if it was originally going to be used on its own as the whole top half of the front area of the shuttle. Like, that part alone looks more like the real thing than with the rest. I suspect that the red window parts are printed too high up/to the rear.
Back on the other hand, looks pretty cool though! Really like the angled side fuselage.
99.99999% Perfect minifigures, outstanding attention to detail, printed toes, great specific face prints, helmets, torso and legs all look fantastic even got a printed arm in there, only detail that ruins it... printed waistcape. 1 singular thing that would make these figures my favourite ever produced
I think the shuttle was sand blue when it came off the factory floor. But over time the paint wore off and exposed the grey metal underneath.
I just think it’s kind of ugly that one of echos arm has printing but the other doesn’t. It doesn’t feel right. I might just change the printed arm to a regular grey one.
I think the print is too good to do that, I’d rather paint something on his other arm
Last time I checked Echo didn't have 2 Robotic arms which is the reason he has arm printing in the first place

@@bigpineapplestudios7447 According to sideshow collectables Echo gets a human robotic arm to replace his older arm. I believe the arm printing on his arm represents his newer arm that has a shoulded bladd
I think it would be cool/ I hope that later sets in the bad batch line are scenes starring one member of the bad batch with more detailed mini figures ex: moveable tech visor, echo droid hand, hunter hair and bandana combo and other little tweaks like that. But given Lego these are probably the figures we’ll get for all future sets
If you have problems with the cockpit coming up when you swoosh it around, I would try removing the little black round 1x1 piece that’s in between the cockpit space and back storage area.

I'm pretty sure that the shuttle's originally colour is blue in the show and that it just had a lot of ruff landings
I definitely want to buy this set and then modify it. Put some landing gears on it and make the room for the Minifigures a bit bigger. Would be a quite exciting challenge.

i wish this set would have been more like krennic's shuttle, that one was amazing and i got mine for like 80€ (originally it was like 120) But i guess this is ok, not worth a 100 tho

I like how with the bad batch shuttle it includes all of the characters like a good example of this NOT happening is the ghost which only included 3/5 of the main characters
Lego gonky is perfect because he is "defective" and so the inaccuracy is forgiven
This might be the greatest reasoning why he is the wrong color and I will die on this hill of that belief because its absolutely perfect
They should’ve done something with the Monkie Kid hair mold for Hunter.

I think im leaning towards liking the light blue over the gray. Not entirely sure why but it just feels nicer to me.
I like the sand blue. It gives the 'hero' ship a more distinguishable look from the rest of the ships.

Solution for echo’s waist cape: TH-camr “Sanders3Studios” has made a video on how to make custom waist capes and Pauldrons out of paper.
I lost my Captain Rex waist cape and pauldron. I attempted to fix that today with a custom one. It doesn't work, sadly

Hunter’s ventilation throngs are RED on the right side and BLACK on the left not vice versa
idk why everyone doesnt like this set, the build is smal but it looks really good and having all 5 of them is nice

Just get the armor piece from the old CW sets. They run about a dollar on BrickLink and you can pick up the helmet accessories as well.

Would be interesting to see an M&R comparison video between this and the 2021 Imperial Shuttle. Also I think the issue with Hunter is that his mouth seems to be a tad too low
