- The LEGO Star Wars Summer 2022 AT-TE is probably the best one yet! With 3 212th Clone Troopers, Phase 2 COMMANDER CODY, and a Clone Gunner... the Minifig selection is unrivaled. The Droid side of things disappoints with 3 regular Battle Droids and a Spider Droid... Utapau didn't have those. Ultimately for $140 in todays LEGO market this is a pretty good buy, not a perfect set but still better than a lot of the Clone Wars era sets we've gotten recently!

No doubt I’m getting it. Too bad LEGO decided to delay it, so now we have to wait longer! And yes, it is the greatest Ep. III set, although you could make an argument for Palpatines Arrest!
Not at $140. It’s a good set. But not good enough for $140.

I think if they removed the lower bump on the side of the clone helmet it would make the accessory holes significantly less awkward

@@Skuge_ if your paying for a premium product than you should get a premium product it doesn’t matter if it will only be in a couple sets as “only the best is good enough “ if the prices keep going up so should the quality.

The fact that it holds 9 troopers,
(7 interior seats, 1 gunner, and 1 driver)
and the set comes with 5, means that if I pair it with my Utapau battle pack from 2014, I can fill the whole thing with 212th troopers which is awesome. Works out perfectly.

I had this exact idea yesterday! I have the battle pack too so I’m rlly excited to be able to fit my entire 212th Battalion inside the walker

It seems like the stud shooters are placed really well. It’s not super distracting and I think it works

It helps that they blend in really well with the design and the studs don't stick out like on the old stud shooter

@@optimised120Yes he's complimented The set and many other several times but You can tell when he complains he complains like a baby in his ATTE comparison video he went on a rant about how the orange tip of the clone trooper printing in this set is slightly cut off by that black line saying and I quote "something LEGO should offer free replacements for" when it's something very minor that has no real effect on the quality of the set and at the end of the day this is just plastic that will soon have no value in the far future. I also personally think he uses Lego's slogan of 'Only the best is good enough' as a crutch to yell his complaints and have some merit of without sounding annoying or obnoxious whether he's right about his opinion or seriously nitpicking
this set is so close to being perfect, but it need just a few changes before it’s perfect, but it’s crazy we actually got P2 Cody within the same 30 years as P2 Rex!

Honestly the gunner Looks good with the holes from the front because it makes it look bulky and like a real heavy gunner
True.
Just that it is a normal gunner, not a heavy gunner.And gunners uses normal P2 helmet, and they never use Antennas or Rangefinders or Sunvisors, so those holes are completely useless and bad looking.
Especially if you put a grey visor on him

Fun Fact: The Republic Dropship can carry this AT TE if you remove the handle of the AT TE and replace it with the one that attaches to the Dropship.
Lol yes if you modify the set to work with the other set it will work with the set it doesn’t work with!

I personally love that they’re adding the helmet holes again. It allows for a lot more customization when making custom clones which has been rather difficult lately without them.
But the way they implemented then looks awful
A perfect minifigs pack would be 2 regular 212th and a 212th airborn trooper, with a crab droid for the side build. Fingers crossed for the 2023 january sets wave !
I think that would be perfect as a remake of the 2014 212th battle pack

Can I just mention this is the most clone legions in a wave since the mid 2010s? We had the 41st, 212th, shock, wolf pack, 501st, and a few others in the mid 2010s. Now, we have the 501st and 212th again, the P1 clone bois, the 187th, and the Bad Batch. It looks and feels good.

Great set, definitely could've included an airborne trooper and crab droid to make it 10/10 but other than that it's amazing

My dad bought like 8 212th battle packs from like 2015 when I was young so I have more than enough troopers to fill this beast when I get it.

@@chilltrooper9423 he sure is. He’s been buying Star Wars sets since the very beginning. I have the manual for the first Star Wars sets like the x wing and darth mauls ship, the old battle packs. All the old sets and newer ones. But now they are all stored in these giant bins we have and we have at least 20,000 Lego pieces, MAYBE.

This set is just about perfect. By far my favorite set and I’d been wanting an AT-TE forever when it released. Great job Lego!
After getting this set in hand, I really don’t think the helmet holes are that bad. They have not been distracting at all the antennae also looks nice where they placed it
What I really like about the different weapons racks being detachable is that you can just remove all of those and have four more spots to place Clones.

I can't believe that in 2022, they release a set with MORE minifigures than they ever have included before. Also it has the best balance between the Separatists and the Clones that I think I have ever seen.

I think that the option to leave out the jet pack and print it is a pretty good choice because it allows for him to sit in the model. Obviously you could take it off but personally I prefer without it.
But why would you put such an amazing character inside the at-te and not have it out on display

We finally got a Phase 2 Commander Cody. That's all that matters to me
Taking a look at 1:42 I'm more and more convinced that 2017 helmet just looks overall way better: better cheek shadows, no holes, more sleek profile and firstly better visor and mouth print!
Yeah! I dislike the newest mouth print. I think it should be thinner but still I like the whole minifigure.
It really looks like the best Episode 3 set ever to me. Except the missing Palpatine hologram but damn that's a really cool one.
I kinda liked the interior of the last sets that came out (the AT-AT playset and its 3 seats cabin), for example for Episode 3 the last AT-AP with its 2 seats and wide target screen was really good. I don't even talk about the last Millenium Falcon that has...Too much space inside ! xD
I think Lego finally realized that our little minifigures need a ride and gave them some place inside vehicles.
But I really prefered the last clone helmet molds. They were more accurate. These ones look bulky on the forehead sides and the mouth print is quite small.
Yh the interior is great but I can’t believe they flopped so hard with th justifier interior

I'm quite amazed by the Scythe interior though.
This set will make a fine addition to my collection when i'll actually be able to get it.

I think a 212th Battle Pack to add to this is likely, especially since they made a new-style Airborne Trooper in 2020 and it's not present here. Maybe they didn't include the Crab Droid here because they're saving it for that set, like how the 2014 212th battle pack had the Tri-Droid?
Its so refreshing to see that LEGO really listened to the customers (for once) and actually used the interior space unlike what we got in the AT-TE before that

I didn’t expect the AT-TE to be as flourished as it is, it’s generally a solid build with pretty great figs. Def the best set of this wave.
There are two words I have to say here. HELL YEAH! I actually like this AT-TE because of the return of Commander Cody and the 212th troopers. I don't own the previous AT-TEs (most notably the 2013 version) so this should be a great set I would get and give it a review. I like it!

I got this Lego set for Christmas and I loved it. But it took me 5 hours to build...
I like how the gunner jumps around while turning the cannon because it looks a bit like recoil from the cannon

Other than that this set is hands down my favorite for the august wave. Obi’s starfighter as well
Am I the only person who noticed the front left side sticker was upside down? I had too look multiple times to make sure I wasn’t seeing things.
While the clones don’t use the accessories on the box, they still have them included in the set if you want to use them. Fan service. I guess they can’t please everyone though
Finally ordered mine! Can't wait. Kid-me inside is screaming with joy! This was one I always wanted but never got growing up.

I just got this set, and it's a big improvement over the old 2013 model, much more going on in the interior, and it comes with 5 clones instead of a mere 1 that the old one had.
This is now my favorite SW set and I’ll be trying to get it the day it releases! That interior is just so good and I can’t wait for the comparison!
I'm not a prequel guy myself, but this set looks pretty awesome and something I'd actually want from that trilogy!!!

Greatest overall! Really wish we’d also gotten a 212th airborne trooper. I know we got one in the Grievous starfighter. But I really love the airborne troopers. Also Ryan as a heads up the Movie had the AT-TE’s scaling cliffs in Teth. Ryloth was at the end of season 1.
I just bought mine 2 days ago. Not done building yet but so far so good. I'm a truck driver and not home much so I buy these when I'm on the road and when the roads are closed cause of snow or I'm waiting 2 days for a load,Legos is what I work on usually
Maybe they went with the clone wars box stripe to drive more attention to the fact that there are clones in the set and maybe that will give the set the attention it needs to sell for all the casual lego consumers out there (people who don't pay attention to accuracy but rather need visual hints to sell them on the set).

I’ve never been more satisfied with a Lego purchase than the UCS AT-AT I love that thing it’s the first UCS set I’ve ever had it’s just amazing to look at in my room and the amount of detail in it and the red visor just everything about it. Well worth the payment

9,75/10 from me so far (based on this review, I dont own it yet), extremely minor details aside I basically don't see a way they could have done it better, unlike previous at-te's there's just nothing wrong with it, the stuff you and I have problem with is only in context of the past at-tes and that little hole on the helmet.
1:10 No phase II gunner clones do exist. They manned the turbo tanks guns on Kashyyk in Revenge of the Sith. I have an old Star Wars figure of one and you can see them inside the Turbo Tank in the Star Wars Episode III complete cross sections book.

The buildable figure of Cody was huge so having a dual mold helmet made sense. In my opinion, a dual molded helmet for the Cody minifigure would be hard because of how small the helmet is.

The amount of times Ryan says “in years past” is impressive
I have had less printing problems with the holed helmets than the hole free ones. The hole free ones often had the visor (aka the black marks they see through) printed off to the side a bit, which is infinitely more annoying to me than the upper details being slightly off. I just feel so sad seeing the visor printed off to the side, where as this misprint doesn't bother me at all. Funnily enough, my little brother's only phase 2 clone with helmet holes has a slight misprint with the visor, but none of my 12 had a misprint. Huh.

Man, this AT-TE was an awesome return and upgrade from 2013. I don’t know why the Republic Gunship had to go backwards and not have any small builds for the interior spaces.
If we’re talking inaccuracies, one major inaccurate detail i don’t see mentioned a lot is the cannon in the at-te. The entire cannon is supposed to move up and down, not just the barrel.
Yeah that was my main issue with the 2013 set. Shame they didn't fix it here.
I think it's fine. The order 66 scene can be made with only the barrel moving up. But still Lego should have put a palpatine hologram into the set.
@@aleksiniko But it could still be accurate without that piece or even commander Cody for that matter. That’s something you and I would have wanted but it’s not an objective inaccuracy like the cannon, which is something they’ve even done right before. Just because a set lacks a figure, a piece, or even a build, does not make it inaccurate. However when a figure design or build is objective wrong or incorrect to how it’s portrayed in the source material, that is inaccurate. it is a blatantly inaccurate design of the at-te to have the cannon barrel go up and down and not the cannon as a whole.

Sadly I don't think they'll be fixing the clone printing anytime soon. Or ever. The Mando helmet has the same issue that the visor is shown higher up but the actual fig is lowered and has been since release. We are stuck with this design which baffles me cause the old print (even shown on your old 212th CW fig) was way better in comparison.

At 10:57 when the clone gunner gets jumpy I replaced the 2 by 3 gray tile he sits on with a 2 by 3 gray plate so he stays in place when I move him around.
The 2014 style p2 clone troopers looked so much better, I still want these clones but they look awful compared to the 2014 ones. The part I hate the most is the cheek part on the helmet along with the eye visor part is not as stretched out.
Bought this set at the beginning of the month on Amazon. Set arrived last night and it love it. Yeah, the helmet holes not being filled in is annoying, there’s an inaccurate print on top of the helmet, and there should’ve been a crab droid, but those are the only real flaws. And NONE of them are about the AT-TE build itself.
I’d probably also give the set a 9/10 but it was a really fun build and looks so cool on display
So, I’ve never been a big army builder, however, the excitement around this and phase 2 Cody inspired me to go out and get a 501st battlepack to test the waters, and my wallet is sad to say that I’m now hooked.😂 I’m already planning to buy more 501st, and I plan to buy this as soon as possible. Please pray that I don’t convince myself to buy a second one, my wallet can’t take it🤣
This will be available for a couple of years so no need to rush to buy a second one. Maybe get one now and wait to see if there's a battlepack that comes out.

@@DarthMalaks_Missing_Lower_Jaw Probably not where I live. The 501st has been in stores since late 2020/early 2021. So if that’s any indication, it’ll be a few months before it shows up in stores, but I think it’ll be pretty well stocked at my local targets by February

I have 3 Walmarts in my town. With the new merch coming out in March, I figured it would be a good time to check on clearance sales. One WM still had this @ $140. The other two had reduced it to $112. Both WM that reduced it , put it on clearance. $98 at one, and $83 at the other. I could not resist and had to pick it up for $83
The 2008 one could be propped up on its hind legs, but the two grey slope pieces on the back panel would usually break off

Same. I'm honestly pretty disappointed that we got a phase 2 Cody now and not in the future whenever LEGO realises that the new Clone style is trash and goes back to the 2014 one.

At this point I’ve just used my 501st clones to fill and operate the at te. Cody and the other 212ths are just back at the CP putzing around until the rest of their unit shows up (I have no other 212th clones)
Phase 2 Cody makes up $130 of the set and rest of minifigs represent $10

Agreed. I also would have wanted LEGO to make brand new helmet mold for Cody. I didn't expect them to make just holes in the sides. But still I love like the concept and the armor printing. Very nice figure to be added in to my collection.

The stripe nitpick is… quite the nitpick. I honestly quite like the orange stripe, it fits the color palette of the box art as well as the theme (212th) of the set. A blue stripe would’ve stuck out like a sore thumb. I’m not sure this is the reasoning for the orange stripe I’m satisfied nonetheless.
A nitpicks are valid flaws... and for 140 dollars, there shouldn't be printing errors and/or false advertising to this magnitude

The holes above the visor really get me but the set is still hella good

I would assume that the spider droid was included because it utilizes one of the ball turret pieces, which would replace the need to make a crab droid design.
Well it would look very weird to have helmet hole in the correct place with the visors and microbinocs
Instead of the spider droid 5hey should've included a crab droid or maybe an optuptara tri droid (like the one that came in the 212th battlepack a few years back)
I love the set no matter if it's accurate or not
