I got my first 3 pea puffers about 10 months ago and they are absolutely fantastic little guys to have around. Smart and curious and interactive like no other fish in the hobby.
Im able to keep all 3 males successfully in a fully scaped and well planted 10 gallon without any issues.. They did split the tank evenly between them and stay out of each other s way for the most part. Still quite a bit of posturing at feeding time, but the most dominant male maintains the peace, so all is well.
Ps I d only get 2 in a 10 gallon if i had to do it all over.. just overall more sensible, i think

Tip if you have a 5-10 gallon and want to keep more than 2 you can easly keep 5- 7 if you do 50 precent water changes weekly, suck up all uneaten blood worms after 5 minutes have a good filter and HEAVELY planted im talking plants everywhere in my 7 gallon cubed i have 4 3 female 1 male but i swear i have more plant than tank 😂

I want one of these so badly! Planning on setting up a 5 gallon for one sometime in 2021. My 29 gallon community tank has a steady supply of snails for it.

Le baguette probably not, my puffers love the water flow from the filter and I think they would do better in a filtered aquarium. As for everything else, I reckon they would be fine!
I have a 35gallon fully planted with just heater and filter, no co2 or fertiliser and it’s great

Just get some rams horns. They will breed themselves so much they become pests by adding to the bio load. but if you want them. I constantly scrape the eggs off the glass when ever I see them so that they are not hatching more that way you control the population.

Dwarf puffers become aggressive and depressed when kept alone. This guy needs friends of his own kind!
I'm seeing more and more data saying get a bigger tank and get some pea-buddies (plenty planted, break line of site, etc etc etc) - have you found that the info has changed on these guys since you posted this? Am I horrible for considering a blackwater, planted 3 gallon for a solo puff? Obviously water testing/changes would be high on the list... just wanted to see where other folks are standing on this now!

I've had my puffers for a few months. I'm actually not in love with them. I don't hate them, but it's not as cool as I was hoping for. I'm giving them a few months before I decide to take them to my club or not tho haha
What is that's different than you expected or disappointing? I'm completely into puffers atm and would hate that to happen!
@@seratonin7004 to be honest, I'm not quite sure. I'm just not like enjoying them if that makes sense. Most of my tanks I enjoy watching, and the puffer tank I just find boring. And it's one of my favorite scapes to haha

I love personality in fish and have been surprised to find I really enjoy corys, platys, bolivian butterflies, our Eliotti and acara over our other fish. They're spunky, personable and pretty ridiculous at times! 😄
We've changed fish over too because sometimes you just don't know until you live with them.
Although we have some big tanks, my favourite is my bedside tank, as it's awesome to be close up and able to really watch the scape and fish change and grow. I always thought it'd be cool having a puffer in an environment like that.

I love pea puffer i had 4 but one died 2 weeks after i got it then another died at 4 months. When it got stuck in a pice of decor then the last 2 died last week because my mom tuck all the water and fish out i told her to stop. But i was at dads house so she put them through stress shock and sink water the next they where dead

This is a pretty good tank but I’m pretty sure that pea puffers need a 5 gallon tank and a lot of plants.
I only see this video now. I have two of myself. The two of them gulping down on my brown snails a lot, so i started to get them in all my other tank (the snails) to breed.

I just got a 8 gallon tank that I’m going to put one puffer in. I just have to wait 14-30 days...😑 yeah all for a happy fish at the end.

This looks like tetraodon imitator but im not sure because tetraodon travancoricus and tetraodon imitator look the nearly the same but tetraodon imitator is darker and has tiny black dots everywhere on its body when its adult.
Name him Spot, because of his spots, or Jovian, like the lemur who played Zoboomafoo.

I ordered 3 pea puffers for a 20 long tank that's heavily planted with wood and rockscape. They sent 4 !!! I've had them for about 4 months. All are doing well except I'm running low on snails from my 75 gallon and they won't eat the frozen bloodworms I bought them. After trying about 15 times various ways I gave up. Any suggestions would be appreciated. PLEASE???
have they been starved for a couple days? most fish give up and eat whatever you want them to eat after a bit of fasting

How did you get your puffer to eat frozen bloodworms? Mine just basically nips it 2 times and ignores it for the rest of the day, I'm worried that he might not be eating enough.

I've been trying to talk myself out of buying another tank to set up as a pea puffer tank all week since I couldn't decide between a honey dwarf gourami and pea puffers. I thought I was fine with my choice then this snuck into my suggested videos. I just finished cycling my to be dwarf gourami tank Chris... whyyyyyyy???😭😭😭
