just bought a 2009 vulcan this past summer as my first bike. DAMN its such a nice ride for my first bike. im a bit tall for it so long distance hurts, but i managed to put 15000 kms on it, plus the bike was in the shop for the entire month of august. this summer im definitely going to put at least 20000 kms on it, then next summer probably upgrade to a 850-1000 cc bike.
Sorry it took me a long time to reply to your comment,, but yes they're a very fine bike for 500 cc's it'll get you where you need to go and have a big smile on your face, not as fast as my r1 but the smiles are all the same
It's not my bike I ride a r1,, I was taking it for a yeast run for a friend of mine it's her first bike and put a bunch of work into it,, but I'd have to say for 500cc it's fun as heck
This actually my friend's bike I was just test running it for her because she did a bunch of work to it,, I ride a r1 but this 500cc is a really fun bike
Got one free yesterday from someone moving that had no use for it. It's in non-running condition at the moment, no battery, some other stuff I'll have to figure out with carb. Other than that the bike isn't in too horrible of a condition, can't wait to get it runnin
@@mikehansen3283 Oh for sure it won't but I'm too old for speed, I just wanna cruise with my wife and my buddies ya know. Also update, got it to run and idle off it's own gas last night, only on one cylinder, just put new plugs in but in my haste left the key on so gonna recharge battery and see if she purrs.

I have the same bike for a number of years. I've put over 20k miles on mine. Great bikes.

Free bikes are the best,, when you get it running I'm sure you will have fun with it,, it definitely doesn't ride like my r1 though lol
@@mikehansen3283 yeah I have a battery in it now, fuel goes to petcock, won't start without spray, any ideas before I tear out to carbs? Lol

Where did your friend get the parts from
What exhaust does it have?
What exhaust is on it
👍🏿👍🏿
There's no way that has stock exhaust. I wonder what it is.
It's not stock exhaust I can't remember what kind my friend said they were but they're basically straight pipes with turnouts
