If you spend hours getting resources and the machine breaks, that's a lot of time wasted. I don't know why you don't just use TNT instead, all you need to do is make a gunpowder farm and annihilate a desert for sand. Then you can either chop down loads of trees to make sticks for trading for emeralds for trading for loads of diamond pickaxes or make one or a few enchanted netherite pickaxes with mending and efficiency and an XP farm to mend them. If you attack an end city full of shulkers to get a bunch of shulker shells to make shulker boxes and make a farm for food, you can maybe take enough TNT, pickaxes, and food to take all of the ancient debris in one continuous uninterrupted go. The only farms you would need are for gunpowder and food and that's it and maybe a gold farm depending on whether you decide to farm it or fly around looting bastions to get it.
I have an idea how to travel faster between nether and tnt farm. In the newest version of the game ender pearls are always loaded, so you can make two stations. One in the farm with armour stand with frost walker bots, when you go out from game you get teleport to the farm. Second one in the nether would be with delay system. To sum up you are digging in the nether and run out of tnt then you go to or build it. klick a button, log out, you are teleported to farm, you have 1-3 minute to take tnt and prepare the station to next time. when delay is out you are teleported to nether
4:11:40 why not just build the forward part, put the withers, and if everything works build the rest 4:23:00 just take all the materials in creative and build the machine a couple of time in survival

Just hold f3 and press f4 to toggle through game modes. Much faster and easier than typing out /gamemode
