Kirra little groyne 1982

Kirra '82. Shot by Jack McCoy. This day was great fun! My first thruster, five guys out at the little groin and a knee deep sandbar. Short waves by Kirra standards but every wave a barrel. On this one I saw something in my way as I came thru the curtain, bailed and landed on Jack, he'd just swam out. Wasn't as good as the rides we were getting that day, but I made it to the big screen - in ultra slow motion!

I used to live across the road from little groyne, at the Breakers (cockroach capital of the Goldie). It used to pump! Didn't take a huge swell to turn it into a total slab- would suck out completely and turn into dredging barrels.
