Found you because I searched for Spirit Island recents. I'm also one of the fanatics, it is my #1 board game of all time. I love playing solo with 1 or 2 spirits as well as multiplayer, so I hope you are enjoying it!
Also as an addition, Branch and Claw was actually intended to be part of the base game but then didn't make it in because of reasons I don't remember, so good call there!
After trying it out in multiplayer with B and C I knew I didn't want to just play the Base Game. It didn't take me long to weave it in but yeah I'm certainly sucked in to it and Greater than Games are very kindly sending me the stuff I don't have! ❤️🙏 Certainly hope to be able to do a proper review at some stage.
I played this game with another person once and yeah, it took like 3 hours. It is one of my favorite solo games though. I usually do 3 or 4 Spirits on the thematic map. 100+ hours logged between the board game and Steam adaptation and still haven't touched Jagged Earth content. It will always have a spot on my shelf
Fabulous game Solo and is good even just playing 1 spirit true solo as they require different approaches to win.True Solo can be 20-45 minutes. I found 2 spirits the best as you can synergise but 3 it becomes a bit of a slog but with enough experience it's doable. Ohh and Jagged Earth is hands down the best expansion i've got for any game.. exemplar expansion IMO.
Almost none of my components for this game are original. I bought the token upgrade pack and then upgraded all the essence tokens to semi precious gem cabuchons. Eventually even replaced the box with the Broken Token box. Now playing it is such an amazing physical experience it's hard not to always pull it off the shelf. My next plan is to make my own wooden boards to replace the cardboard ones. Love this game!
@@TheBrokenMeeple hey you mentioned in your folded space review that you might be needing a second folded space insert for jagged earth when you get it. I still have to put my broken token box together (which holds everything) but once I do will have my current folded space insert left over - do you want it (it is pre put together and I'd rather find it a good home rather than just throwing it away)?
@@TheBrokenMeeple I am uk based - I'm happy to cover the postage after all 2nd class shouldn't be very expensive (after all although a little bulky it is very light)
@@rholford1982 That's great and no it won't be much at all, it's light and if you're UK then no international import nonsense! :-) Send me a message on my brokenmeeple@gmail.com account!
I'm personally waiting for a component upgrade before buying this game. I might wait a long time, but I'm ok with that ;) I don't need nothing too fancy, I just want some decent wooden meeples with proper shapes so we can tell them apart a little bit better.
Looking forward to your solo experience of this. I have never played it and was thinking about getting it for solo. Some of my favorite meaty games play very well solo and I enjoy them. Will I enjoy this as a solo game? Lets see what you think. Thanks.
This game has been on my 'maybe' buy since I started playing board games. But I can't bring myself to actually get it as I am pretty sure it won't stick. There is only space in my collection for 1 solo game and that's marvel champions (got to save time for video games, reading and other solo hobbies).
This is one which I am not sure about. Don't think I would like to keep it... Obviously we don't have to like all games. On different note: another good idea for a series.
2:41 here is way to speed up the game, everyone focus on their board, if can help out the other but don't talk over every decision. spend 2 minutes max talking out what you do and what you need like, someone pls gather here, someone could do X damage here, push out this invader, defend here.
@@TheBrokenMeeple Spirit Island is truly awful. This and Jamey Stegmaier games have been my most awful, least fun, excruciating game experiences to date. I can give more details if needed. But bad design is a big piece.
Good idea for a series. As someone who also has a reasonable collection, it’s nice to hear your thoughts on adding another game to a collection.
Glad you enjoyed it! This alongside cull videos I think will be nice easy videos to do which are hopefully useful!

great investment! so thematic and so replay-able! glad you enjoying it!

Well GTG MAY be sending me a copy, but no idea when that will be!
Such a great game, both as a solo and a two-player game. The expansion is fun, but I still love the base game best (especially if I'm playing solo).

I would like the Token upgrade pack that GTG do.

I didn't - Greater Than Games sent me it.
