2009 was great in the sense that people were openly singing(they seemed timid in 1999), clearly they just got so loud that they drowned out the band lol.
I also liked 1959, although i think 1969 was the best one, i loved the "fast" playing that they've done. Also, it is so Cultural Revolution looking

I prefer the slow pace like the one in 1959 - slow and steady conveys solidarity and unyielding will.
That is what you need to transform a poor country into a prosperous nation even in the face of insurmountable odds and uncertainty.
The fast pace like the 1969 version seems a bit too enthusiastic to me - the March of the Volunteers is a song to inspire people during the genocidal war against the Chinese - it should be solemn rather than optimistic.
