@stcroixrodsvideo Thank you 🤝 My pleasure to use and review good product. If you would like me to check and review some of your another products, please pm to my email or Instagram.
Really nice! St.Croix is one of my favourite fishing brand, is something different on the fishing rod market. I was thinking about panfish series to use for trout fishing. Another good video, tight lines mate!
Thanks 🤝 I can see why you like ST Croix so much. Definitely worth of attention. Never tried another ones from ST Croix but I'm sure panfish series should be very good too. Thanks for watching, Tight Lines mate 🤝🎣🎣🎣
Oooohhhh man. Super nice setup!!!! Edit: I'll get those Panther Martin lures in the post to you next week brother. They'll go really well with that lightweight setup for SURE.
@@ManAndRod Those Dad duties kick in fast brother 😂😂😂 Hope the fam is keeping well!! I'll fire you a message once I get these sent. Best used with a barrel swivel to keep twist out of the line. 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
Hi pal, I've just bought a sekura 2 - 7g it's very stiff,I was disappointed at first but since have caught perch so small they can only just bite the hook but I'm always running into pike 9lb yesterday I'm now glad of the extra backbone to stop the initial runs! Casting weight really does change with rod manufacturers, I'd have put mine at 3 - 14g
Hi pal 🤝 That is so true, lighter rod more fun but more backbone helps a lot when get hooked into bigger fish. More control in fight and easier to stop from running. Every manufacturer has different understanding in casting weight. Don't know why but that's true. Manufacturers can't figure out how to mark accurately but we can feel easily 🤣
Great Video Man! I was thinking about getting the 6'4" also but for some reason St.Croix's action's are actually heavier than their ratings. I'm now thinking twice about the 6'4". You just saved me $150 bucks. I may just pick up the 6'
@@ManAndRod I already have the TFO 6' and 6'6" UL and they're amazing rods for $84 bucks but they're not for the size fish you were pulling in on that 6'4" Croix!
In that case u should be happy with new rod 😁🎣 will absorb shakes and will keep fish on the hook. As well will hold 20 inch with no problem which is very good size and brilliant fighters 🎣🎣🎣
Awesome video and best review of this rod I have been able to find. I appreciate the comparison between the 6' and 6'4" as those are the two I am considering. If you could go back, would you still have chose the 6'4" or would you have went with the 6' Ultralight?? I"m kinda leaing more towards the Ultralight, myself.
Thank you 🤝 They both are good rods but if i could go back, probably i would look for something else. My rod is a bit too stiff and I'm loosing a lot of fish. But that could be my folt not knowing how to use it properly. Lighter rod holds fish very well but if i catch something bigger - like over 45cm and fighting fish in stronger current, then i feel this rod stressing and not having enough power to pull out fish comfortably.
Hi. Very interesting review - thank you. How do you rate this specific reel seat? Lots of plastic, no natural cork. It looks very cheap and average and discourages me from buying this rod.
Hi. I think for the price this rod is brilliant. This plastic feels nice in hand and it should last. Cork would feel more premium but this plastic feels good as well. Of course this rod is not premium . Premium rod would cost 3 times more expensive. I think it is worth of money. 👊🎣
Hi pal, I've been lure fishing for 40yrs,seen a lot of changes, ultralight are good, but we tend to want a rod to cover a large range of fish from a few ounces to May be 10lb I've been using bfs,but gone back to good old spinning combo, because I can cast small lures with heavier lines.the bfs can handle the big fish ,but you can only cast mybe 6lb line, which limits you some what, its trying to find a happy medium!
Hi pal 🤝 I never tried bfs. Would like to try but all about money, it's expensive to have everything 😅 You are right, we want one rod being able to deal with all sizes of fish but it's hard to get gear able to do that. I think we are very lucky in nowadays having such a great rods, reels and lines which are getting very close to be able to do that. Happy medium - one day we will have it 😁🎣
Ahoy, some time has passed from when you bought this rod, and by any chance, do you have any new feedback? I've been planning to grab TFS70LXF2, for winter season / chub, as currently I use a 1.8m arena stream, but during winter it gets difficult, so been thinking abou an upgrade
Hi 🤝 i still think it's a bit too stiff for trout fishing. I loose a lot of fish on first take as i think this rod can't cope with absorbing shakes quick enough. Specially with small trout. Rod springs back to quick. But it could be totally different with model you are looking to. Your model is longer and maybe that changes everything.
@@ManAndRod I was thinking the same thing, that the longer model might be less stiff (which is usually the case), ill try to wait for Christmas sales here in Lithuania, and hopefully get to hold it in my hand. Looking for something around 220~ for winter
Hope you will get and you will enjoy. Let me know if you will hold in your hand. Very interesting to know the difference. Ir siaip linkejimai i Lietuva 🤝🎣🎣🎣
I think that the weight of the reel is more important than size. Before i had Okuma 1000 size and it was heavier than this Vanford 2500 180g. I i prefer this one, it's just more versatile. I think that the reel weight for UL rod should not go more than 200g. Mine is 180g and i have very nice balance.

I have the 6’4 lite, probably could’ve gotten an ultra lite but I’d rather have the more stout rod incase I hook something big
It will do job with no problem 😊 in future you can buy another one if you will have need for it 🎣
