    I really like how unlike most battle dialogues neither of them are mad at choosing the opposite side

      in Fates, characters would be like "Why didn't you choose our side!", like whiny children playing games. But here, many characters say "It's fine, this is war and we all have our reasons for choosing different sides".

      That doesn't make much sense.
      First off, I don't think many of the battle conversations in Fates go like that at all, I can't personally even remember a single one like that.
      That said, I'm sure they exist...but why is that a bad thing?
      If your "real" family went back to the obviously corrupt Nohr, to seemingly fight against you, even after seeing the evil they cause, asking why they did so is not whiny or childish in the slightest.
      And seeing Corrin join his "real" family who he has known for like, a few days, and leaving behind the people who raised and loved him, is also cause for asking why he left them.

      @@bnhearyza4767 Where I disagree is that it makes a lot of sense for most characters to turn their back on their homelands because of their own stories and character. Fates had that shoehorned into their plot.
      I'll run through the Blue Lions because it's the quickest and easiest to explain (outside of Ingrid because she's the only one who makes no sense to turn on her homeland).
      Felix - Refuses to serve under Dimitri who he views as a murderous sociopath and is already annoyed about how his brother has become a martyr.
      Sylvain - Openly has disgust for the existance of a class system based on crests due to his own family and Edelgard is the one who is trying to remove that class system.
      Annette - Father abandoned her because of "duty" and reconciliation never happens (the one thing really tying her down to Faerghus). A bit weak but still a viable reason.
      Mercedes - Her brother is alive and working for Edelgard. Plus, Mercedes was actually born in Adrestia.
      Ashe - Hey, remember when we killed your adoptive father and it turned out that the church really was just a controlling entity that needed to suppress anyone who didn't bow to their absolute religious rule? Besides, Ashe is just a commoner at the end of the day and knows that nobility can turn and oppress the common-man if they decide to.
      Outside of Ingrid, the Blue Lions have their own personal conflict with Faerghus and potential reasons for leaving it (Ashe and Felix are the biggest victors here). Same goes for the other houses, especially the Golden Deer since that's just politics at play.

      It’s been like five months. But a thing I’ll add about Ingrid is that she could be in the same boat as Sylvain. But honestly there’s no dialogue that suggests that she hates the crest system like Sylvain.
      From what I read, she joins could have joined because she has reforming ideals about being some loyal knight because of a Glenn and also her valued crest.
      These aren’t definitive but it’s here to try and ease a way of thinking of a reason for Ingrid to be joining you on Crimson Flower.

      Rhea was about to leave her post anyway. Because Belyth is the reincarnation of the goddess who will supposed to bring justice to Fodlan. @@thanatossonofnyx2472 Who says that Byleth wouldve changed Fodlan to the better? Out of Edelgards perspektive it would just be another person on top of the church. Sorry but their is no world in which the church was good for the world. Sure war isn't either but as bad as this sounds sometimes you need to do that.
      There are many Situations in our world where the same thing happens and since it is in the past we call it out super positive. A good example of this is the french revolution. Now it's taught at school as a heroic revolution which started democracy. It's taught in a very possitive manner (which it obviously is) but for the time it was a fatal war which caused many lifes and even after the war the change wasn't that significant.
      After Edelgard won the crest and noble system where removed and the church didn't have any power anymore. In which world is that a bad thing. If we compare that to the ending of blue lions I'm not sure if I want to say the same thing.
      But to be fair even I think that cf is the least interesting route since the story and char development is pretty linear (you got legit 0 char development) but like I said before it's the route which makes, from a neutral point of view, if you ignore your biased towards certain characters the most sense

      Bruh. Did you even pay attention? It's not like Edelgard was like "Hm I feel like starting a war today..." There are reasons behind her actions and just because you don't personally agree with them doesn't mean they're inherently bad. Edelgards side is like "the ends justifies the means" side. Like you will do whatever it takes to reach your goal.

      @aaronwolf6823 4 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      You do get this is my opinion you even said it I don't like her reasons I played her route to see her side of the story and I still disagree. Also where did her dislike of the Crest and noble system come from? I don't know even after playing her route. Correct me if I missed anything which I probably did. Her family was killed in blood experiments because of those who slither in the dark her hair was turned White because of it and she gain a second crest. Where does her dislike of nobility and crest came in? Her second crest was a secret was it not? She was already nobility so it not like she was a commoner like Dorothea who nobles treated like shit but they she was found to be in line to be the next emperor then start treating her with respect. No she was always in the Imperial family she just wasn't next in line she watched her family die she became next in line then wants to wage war against the church. If anything she should want their help to fight those who slither in the dark. I probably missed something since this doesn't make sense so if I did correct me.

    • @tenkaichi2023
      @tenkaichi2023 4 ปีที่แล้ว +23

      @@aaronwolf6823 The problem is that Edelgard is a bit of a blinded idiot. She is mad at crests and the nobility system because of the blood experiments but fails to express hate towards the people who did that to her. She instead takes it out on Rhea because the nobility system is in place because she doesn't tell her followers the truth about the crests and relics. Edelgard believes that the relics were man-made creations and that Serios killed the creators and stole their weapons when it was the exact opposite since the Crest stones in the weapons are the hearts of her siblings who were killed by Nemesis (the red canion). Hence the whole "children of the goddess" thing. Those who slither in the dark know the truth but Edelgard is just too ignorant, we know this because of the conversation that happened between Edergard and her uncle after Byleth obtains the sword of the creator. He tells her about Nemesis just being a thief and she just says "Thief? Hm, anyways". I completely disagree with Edelgard's actions in every way and I can't bring myself to have any empathy for her.

    • @aaronwolf6823
      @aaronwolf6823 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@tenkaichi2023 personally if I could change her back story to more relate to her goals would be she was a commoner who had no family and was living on the streets. She learns she needs to grow up quickly making her become a smart and strong girl living only on her strength and wit. Nobles treat her like shit just like Dorothea while being lazy and doing nothing to improve the Empire. She could end up trying to work in attempt to join the military. She meets Casper's father he could be like what she feels nobles should be. She could also meet Casper feel he should be the one to become the next minister of military but find out he isn't because he a second son and the one who would be the next minister is like all the other nobles lazy and unfit to be in that position. She could perhaps have a hidden crest rather than crest of Serios it could be crest of Hersvelg making her a direct descendant of the Imperial royal family. Someone from those who slither in the dark could discover it see edelgard's distaste for the current system then they could make it known to the Empire in some way she has it then she is immediately next in line to the throne. She could get annoyed since she worked so hard for her rank in the military but just because she had a crest she is thrown into the nobility with the work or effort. Twsitd could then manipulate her by telling her that things are like that because of the Church and Rhea. It's a bit of a rough idea but I would prefer that backstory to copy and pasting lysithea's which doesn't make sense for her goals.
