I love everything about this performance. Daniel writes such great tunes but this a true group effort. The way he sings this is more "country" than the studio version. Everything has it's place such as his leather wrap (that he probably made himself as he his also a leather worker) on his tele, the way he backs up from the mic when he hits those dynamic vocal lines, the bands outfits, the drummers beret (homage to the French Canadien roots), the jewish pedal steel player (the sad machine) and best of all, the scowling bassist. Gotta love it.
This is my first time to hear Daniel and I'm glad I came across his music because it's great and also the look on his bass players face is interesting.
I think Daniel is a throwback to the early-70s spirit of Gram Parsons. Gram sought to bring back the lost essence of country music and Daniel is headed down that same path. Hopefully, unlike Gram, people will recognize his talent before he's dead.
This best country stuff in years! Dig the jackets. The bass player is a kick! The steel slide player is awesome. This has some character to it. The lyrics are sad and funny. Some redone old songs too. Romano is multi-instrumentalist, and it shows. I don't care for country much, but this is well done, cool stuff here.He comes from music background. Country with a groove! People should really listen to all this. Not be so judge mental. This guy is a superstar. Finally a new good band to enjoy. Great to listen to while driving. Even mixed with rock songs you like. Nashville has a new star!
This song and video are perfect on many levels..Probably my fave Daniel song..I really wish he would do more music like this..His new album is very good though.
Spencer Burton on guitar has stayed true to his outlaw/country AF roots! As for the rest of this teeny bopper flock of seagulls group, they sold out! God bless Spencer Burton for keepin it real! God bless him.
Thank god I found him looking up Nudie Suits! Lol though do hope he goes back to his country sound, he really is such a musical chameleon which shows just how much of an true artist he is!
Bass player can't hide his frustrations ...."first you made me wear this stupid fucking hat, then, you keep crop dusting me with your Arby farts...😬...I can taste them! I'll never forgive you for this Daniel Romano!!!!"
The hat shape is called the RCA crease, don’t know what brand of straw it is. Judging by the height of the crown, it’s probably a vintage hat as most hat companies don’t make tall crowns anymore
They're playing country. Matching singer-band suits have been a big part of the history of country music from back in the medicine show days all the way up to the Nudie era and even now I to the Manuel era. Know your role and learn something, jabroni- from a Country music connoisseur
Country is not a hip trend. This guy almost had me convinced. I wonder when he incorporated 'darlin'" into his vocabulary... 2012'ish. What a pretentious, hipster fraud.

Opened for the band in Dublin a few years ago, had a great chat with the chap on pedal steel, an absolute gent

this is some of the hardest hitting shit i've ever seen in my life

Yes! he has always reminded me of today's Gram. So similar in many ways
The slide guitarist is awesome

Hello country music where have you been?
It has always been around. You just have to look for it.
They lay it down pretty cool. I am by no means purely country but this song has a lot going for it
he is a wonderful pedal steel player, understated but carries it! Love him
my favorite song of his!!!
awesome overload.
Spencer Burton on guitar has stayed true to his outlaw/country AF roots! As for the rest of this teeny bopper flock of seagulls group, they sold out! God bless Spencer Burton for keepin it real! God bless him.
Omg!!! Love it!

The bass players face! HAHAHAHAHAHA
Seriously I've never seen a scowl with such a bizarre look..
He's probably a metal bassist trying to hold back the scowl gimmick.
CHerndon23 Hard to believe but this has a lot of musicians that were in punk bands, including Daniel. Not sure about the bass player though
B000gnish 👍
Need to take a dump...
this is the real stuff👍
Thanks!
More please!!!!!!!!!!!!
The singer voice and face reminds me of a young Bob Dylan
I don't know which is funnier, the bass player or their costumes.
doctordonuthin Haha Different horses for different courses. I like that! I bet they're Pendleton jackets, if you are looking.
matt p thanks man. im gonna get me one. too many people dress alike these days! these are unique
I come back here from time to time just to check in on the bassist comments 😆

Could you upload Wreck on the Highway from this show? That was incredible..
I love this coat, I wanna find it to buy but I never can.
His deep baritone in studio is what makes his voice! You can't get that in a big venue. He did sound kind of twangy here but still great nonetheless!
like a Hank Willams
yeah like the first one
I wish I had his jacket
He’s actually good looking under all the beard.
Bass player can't hide his frustrations ...."first you made me wear this stupid fucking hat, then, you keep crop dusting me with your Arby farts...😬...I can taste them! I'll never forgive you for this Daniel Romano!!!!"
Lol
💥💜🌈👍
bass player must of been on some good shit haha!
Who knows what kind of hat is that Daniel are using?
The hat shape is called the RCA crease, don’t know what brand of straw it is. Judging by the height of the crown, it’s probably a vintage hat as most hat companies don’t make tall crowns anymore
is that the bass player from Northern Primitive??
Yes, and the drummer is the guitarist from Northern Primitive/Daniel's brother.
Yes.
all hat no cattle...
Ripping the Red Knuckles look all the way
Other guitarist looks like he vomited in his mouth and can't decide whether to spit or chew it back.
How can you see through his beard?
I hear those missed notes.
They freak me out, in a circus clown kinda way.
BATERISTA DO HERMES E RENATO
What's with the cheesy costumes? Let the music speak for itself, we get it, you're playing country, it's not that big a deal...
+yolojcl1 They like their costumes, and so do I... and probably other people do as well. Not everyone has to think like you.

My wife could've wrttien this song

John Starr almost fooled ya huh... good thing you're paying attention.
