    Thanks for not focusing on the basics that I have already watched 20 times, at the beginning of every other Sharper video. To the point with great info!

    I've seen numerous videos of this machine and this is one of the best, if not the best, no nonsense straight forward explanations that I have seen. Brilliant demonstration and practical use of the shaper. Thanks for the input Andy.

    Great to see you back Andy. Sorry to hear about the fire. As long as you and your family are safe and unharmed, property and possessions can always be rebuilt and reacquired. Thank you for the insight into the Shaper. I do see one in my future… 😉. All the best.

    Watched again as I am leaning towards buying one of these. I don’t have the space for a gantry CNC and think I will rarely need to do 3D carving. I remembered you did a video on this so it was timely! Thank you!

    Andy, another great video! I was on the fence about this tool but your video showed me uses I hadn’t thought of and opened a lot more customization I thought I would need a full size CNC for. I can’t imagine all you have been through and yet you are here still making content. Praying for your quick recovery from the fire and that you and your family are stronger for it and that your business grows significantly.
    Thank you!

    Crazy thing. Its like witchcraft. Very impressive. I can't believe that it is able to make all those micro-corrections instantaneously as a human draws it down a curved line. 😳
    Strikes me that it's a very different machine than your standard cnc that has a fixed bed etc. Seems to be more suited to smaller details such as you were doing rather than bigger 8x4 type cuts.
    Really sorry to hear about your awful fire.
    Hope you get back up and running fully soon and look forward to seeing what you get up to 👊

    • @ManorWood
      @ManorWood  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s really useful , when I get back to the main shop and can process slabs easier , i’ll be doing some projects utilising the shaper rather than resin the joints quite excited about that I’m also excited about being able to take it to a job site repair a split in a table or someone’s floor just a cool little tool for me the key is the iPad out for designing small inserts because it’s so simple keep watching you might get some ideas hopefully.

    A genuine question. I’ve looked and to buy “your” machine including workstation is about £2,900 plus taxes (some which are obviously reclaimable if you are VAT registered. To buy a 1500 x 1500 sized complete CNC workstation, with every upgrade possible, from Ooznest (UK based and with a very good reputation) comes in around £2,600.
    Why might anyone buy one rather than the other?
    I understand that, with extra tape, you can CNC unlimited size with the Shaper but I think most people would not CNC a whole 8x4 sheet in the sense of a single shape covering 8x4 but rather multiples of a smaller shape onto a larger sheet.
    To my untrained eye, a station like Ooznest just seems press and leave whilst the Shaper is more labour intensive in use. As I said, it’s a genuine question as to the pros and cons of each. I’m pretty sure you have evaluated both kinds of systems because to you and your set-up, there is a potential large saving in labour time.

    • @malcolmjames1866
      @malcolmjames1866 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would imagine that the size of some of Andy's tables that would need bow ties would just not fit in a machine as small as the Ooznest, or others, and so with this machine he can take it to the workpiece and create the socket.

    • @theofarmmanager267
      @theofarmmanager267 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@malcolmjames1866 good point. I was looking at the Shaper with the workstation. I don’t think you could use the Shaper plus workstation to cut the female in a large table; I guess you would use the shaper without the workstation and stick the marking tape to the table?

    • @malcolmjames1866
      @malcolmjames1866 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@theofarmmanager267 Yes, that's what I thought Andy would do.

    • @BobBob-eh5sb
      @BobBob-eh5sb 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      From what I gather on this thing, is that if you have enough of the tape, you could cut a large inlay design on a floor. Or maybe a large wood kitchen island already in someone’s kitchen. The portability of it would be very handy. Take it to the piece, not the piece to your shop. And yes, when building a large table that needs bow ties, or some inlay, it would work great. However, if you already have a CNC, you could design your large inlay or whatever on it, and cut it out of 1/4 inch or so material and use it as a template for a hand held router. That’s my idea if I want an inlay on a piece too large for my CNC. And with the tiling option, a pretty large template could be made. April Wilkerson did that to make a large sign for the outside of her shop. She has a 4x8 cnc and cut it out of sheets of plywood, but the idea is the same.
      Will say that this is a pretty cool machine, and now that I see that it auto corrects your path, is great. Definitely would be handy, but yeah, the price is too much unless your really going to use it for business and not just another cool tool.

    • @ManorWood
      @ManorWood  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So I actually have a 4 m x 2 meter CNC on order which was going to arrive just before the fire so it’s been put on hold and stored for me. The origin is something completely different as you take it to the worksite so size is no limit! I certain jobs that are fixed CNC sitting there all day on its own cutting away are definitely better for intricate interesting work on inlays on large tables it’s very difficult moving the slabs around position in bowties exactly where you want them or any other cup for that matter. I guess it’s a bit like me having a sliding saw and I still use my track saw all the time different tools for different products
