Sadly, the 2010 decade was the start of the current WWE roster being treated as second rate. Many of them had to put over the talent from the Attitude Era and Ruthless Aggression Era and they were not able to get even with them or get a win over them.
I remembered how fast my mood changed when this first aired. First, I was like, "oh wow, Diesel's back. That's odd." Two seconds later, I realized they brought him in to kill Punk's momentum and got pissed cuz I couldn't change the channel as others were watching with me.
What confuses me is anytime a wrestler lets their hair (or beard) go gray WITHOUT making any attempts to dye it back to its original color. I mean, hair dye isn't exactly expensive or hard to find. If it's a matter of being lazy, just go somewhere and sit in a chair for an hour and let them dye it for you. Come on. No excuse for any of these wrestlers to be going gray on screen! That includes Goldberg and his now white goatee!
While bringing him back to cost Punk a match and then pivot to a feud with HHH was bad creative, I don't blame WWE for bringing him back in 2011. The year before they lost HBK/Batista/Jericho while HHH/Taker became part timers. The roster was thin and needed stars.
I wish Kevin Nash was part of AEW or WWE instead of a lot of other legends. He'd never touch the ring and that's fine. Just shed all the nostalgia of "HEY REMEMBER THE NWO" shit and let him be Kevin Nash. Dude is entertaining. Just let him talk, make matches, kayfabe politic etc. Have him fall and pretend to tear his quads. There's material there.
Some of his backstage stuff in TNA was as good as anything on TV then, when he was a semi-authority figure. He can improvise and shoot with the best of them which is what I like in wrestling.
Will watch the video later (no doubt it’s great) but if memory serves this was a very awkward pivot from Punk to Triple H that ended in a Ladder Match featuring a guy with notoriously bad knees.
Kevin Nash is my favorite wrestler of all time. Would have loved to see the match with Punk, but the match with Triple H was pretty damn good, all things considered.
always enjoyed Nash. I watch his podcast and you see and hear how busted his body is. In 2011 was around the time where his legs and knees were totally buggered from the infamous picture he posted showing how messed up they were and got surgeries and stem cells injected.
The dyed hair was the worst part of all. Him and Punk are two of my favourites, only wish they did something with the whole "conspiracy against Punk" angle.
I wished that at this time, Nash was still able to go. If you believe what Nash has said about this feud, he wanted to say more but was told not to and stick to the script.
That's really not to point. The idea that the best way to handle Punk, the most red hot talent in a long, long time, was to put him against a retired wrestler is so stupid its not even funny.
@@GoodOlRoll Yeah. Like I said. He was turning off viewers around that time. He was already somewhat out of shape, and his knees were starting to buckle when he was walking.
"Many people are turned off by his lack of wrestling ability and politicking behind the scenes", Nash and to a greater extent, Hall, were MUCH different than the Hulkster in that they only really politicked for money. Who amongst us can't relate to that. It was never "'that doesn't work for me brother', I gotta go over" it was the money doesn't work, I want more money. Every decision they made was either for money, or the betterment of the business as a whole (in Nash's case)
Problem here is Nash was pushed into the main event slot right away. IF Kevin and WWE stayed with the Diesel gimmick they could of a few "feel good" mid card matches out of him. Making the fans think Nash can hang, and seeing one of the few mid 90s gimmicks that A were good and B still looked good somewhat of rare thing! Make them forget about the 2003 run, which with this one here makes that look good!

Nash should have NEVER dyed his hair black again. Grey hair in the WWE NWO, grey hair in TNA, comes back to WWE and expect us not to be confused 😂
Yeah, that wasn't a great choice.
I think Vince made him dye it.
