This version of the song actually makes way more sense. Most liberals aren't NIMBYs, but they are institutionalists. Liberals will fight for positive change, but not if it drastically goes against the norm or pushes too hard against capitalism.
I just found this in November 2024. Incredible. Everything is so on point. Thank you for your wonderful talent and words, and may we all witness a free Palestine !
Absolutely brilliant, painfully accurate, excruciatingly timeless rendition. You should have written this today or 30 years ago. Thank you for this de-gaslighting balm for our battered souls -- right up there with Bad Hasbara, who got me to your page.
I just discovered your TH-cam channel. Thank you. I feel so much despair about the ongoing genocide, and your songs are helping to lighten my heavy heart.
A lot has changed in the past century. But two things remain fundamentally the same: Zionism, and their Liberal pals. This song could have been made literally any time in the past century and it would have been just as true.
Came from bad hasbara,it is scary this song can be relevant for sooo many more years.Amazing job wish you could know about Turkish leftists and write about they too
Here from bad Hasbara where I heard about you. Love this and all the people on the right side of history, and yes, there is a side to take here. Me, I'm on the one of the oppressed. ❤
P.s. yes, I came here because of The Most Moral Podcast - Bad Habara, but I don't know why I hadn't heard of you before. Your voice and your honesty and politics, I will be here henceforth. Just don't you know, turn into a weirdo (whatever that means - disclaimer: satire) lots of peace and love from a Kshamiri that knows the pain of her brothers and sisters in Palestine 🇵🇸
I don't know anything about bad hasbara podcast that everyone is talking about. I first heard this song performed by Jello Biafra and Mojo Nixon in the 90's, then discovered the original through TH-cam, and this version showed up in my recommendations since i still regularly listen to other 2 versions.
Oh my God, if you love this song, listen to the Bad Hasbara podcast, from the beginning. Those two Jewish cousins of mine have kept me fecking sane!!!! ❤
No, Palestinians don't have a "right" to resist. Resist what? Israel doesn't "occupy" their territory. The Jews were kicked out of the West Bank by the Jordanians.
David Work Griffith in his epic movie "The Birth Of A Nation" a Scary Black man tries to deflower an "Innocent" White woman who jumps to her death. Every "Respectable" White Man wanted to avenge the death of Lillian Gish's Character (as a result, the KKK became a National Phenomena, even in the North). Same in England now (though a bit more real). A guy of African Descent (presumed to be Muslim though the source I heard said he was actually Christian) killed some White-English girls, so as a result everyone in Great Brittain who is of African (and other Non-White ethnicities) and Muslim has to pay. It's called Collective Punishment, meaning everyone culturally similar to a real or perceived offender "Gets It." Same Thing in the Current Israel-Palestine situation or in Medieval Europe when every Easter, the Catholic Priests would tell their flocks about "How the Jews killed Jesus" ("Christ Killer" was considered an Anti-Semitic slur) and an angry mob would attack the closest Jewish ghetto for vengeance.
Published 2021. For anyone who says the problem started October 7th, 2023. You can't rewrite history no matter how much you try.

glory to the resistance
I came here from the Bad Hasbara podcast. Thank you for this beautiful song!
Me too. Thanks Jonathan!!
Me three! Thank you, Jonathan. It's a brilliant re-write of a brilliant Phil Ochs song.
Hello from Germany, Matt Lieb brought me here, my neighbourhood had to listen to this song this morning. Thank you very much!
“Hear, hear!”
Wäre vielleicht gut, wenn die Nachbarn den Song auch noch verstehen bzw. begreifen würden?!
Another German here! Would it be okay to maybe use this song during a protest somehow?
Another thumbs-up from the Bad Hasbara podcast!

Came here from the Bad Hasbara podcast. Brilliant!
One of the only rewrites of this song I've heard that does the original justice. Cheers!

Well, now I am listening to every possible version of this song available to me, but so far, yours is the best. Thank you.
Much appreciated! I am very partial to the original.
The algorithm brought me. I like some of the rhymes in your version and the tempo.

SO REAL IT HURTS, fucking go off my king
I came here after hearing a clip on the Bad Hasbara podcast. Whew, this resonates
It's still relevant now.
Unfortunately it's been relevant for the better part of the last century, but never more than now.
Raw talent wielded as a weapon for an impossible time.
Love this ❤, I came here from Bad Hasbara podcast too 😊
3 years later and it still hold true. I hate this timeline.
edit: just adding that I was also sent here by Bad Hasbara
Amazing! Heard about you on Bad Hasbara, now im hooked! Keep up the good work!
Was sent here by the World’s Most Moral Podcast aka Bad Hasbara, excellent work
This is gold
Got here bc Emma Vigeland from @TheMajorityReport recommended Kamala Coconut Tree. I'm guessing Emma got here from, who else but Matt Lieb
Great song BTW!
Here from Al Gore's rhythm. Y'all should also check out another version of this by Pink Williams.
Another fantastic song! Thank you!
Great cover!
This is on point. Well done.

God this is so relevant in 2024
Also here from Bad Hasbara, so sad how little has changed and how willfully ignorant people are.
an amazing song
love it
and relevant
Look up Sabra and Shatilla, Palestinians don’t have to be pro-peace. They have every right to resist.🇱🇧❤️🇵🇸.
No, Palestinians don't have a "right" to resist. Resist what? Israel doesn't "occupy" their territory. The Jews were kicked out of the West Bank by the Jordanians.
They have nothing to resist and so you are saying you don't want peace between the two sides?
The most moral cover
Great song. Free Palestine.
It's insane that this is almost 3 years old
Hell yeah man
🎯
free Palestine
Amazing❤🙌 s/o matt lieb

Lol.
ayyyy first coment
I’m curious as to what you think that right solution is to the conflict. Is it a one state or 2 state solution?
I mean, it’s already one state. The solution is to give everyone living in the state the same rights.
One state, secular, equal rights for all citizens, Jew Christian Muslim and none. A free Palestine 🇵🇸
#freepalestine
Depending on what kind of liberal you are
This is so good.
