Good to see you guys bonding over shared experiences. You say the beatings and being sent back home shaped you into the people you are now. There is a limit to smacking though what Sukali described was/is abuse. Then again African young people do have respect for each other and there elders. British teens and young people really do not have any respect. Maybe you guys are right the way you were bought up shaped you into who you are now🤷🏽‍♀️

Boarding schools breed bullies. You'd hear similar stories from Cameroon.
There's a huge difference between discipline and abuse. Some parents went too far.
I think Caribbean parents of a certain generation (especially if they grew up on the islands) tend to be strict.
