I know you might think you shouldn't listen to anything "negative" abt ur beliefs, but you should always look at both sides.
2cool 2jool agree! But new age differs from spirituality coming from old eastern practices. If you look at those teachings they do not focus on being a godly magic being rather focus on things such as living in the present and not focusing on the past and future obsessively. Manifesting things in such as just believing you are good enough and able enough to make what you what happen.. still doing your active part, but also not rushing or forcing things to happen. A huge part is also on being a forgiving and good person who wants good for others and doesn’t focus entirely on ones self but rather on both being a better you so you influence the world in a better way. When old Eastern practices talk about belonging to the universe it has more to do with realizing you are not special but rather you are the same as nature and the things around you and to take care of the earth and connect deeper so with it so you have a desire to keep all living things in harmony. New age takes a few things from old traditional eastern practices and focuses more on the self rather then expounding as well on the practice of living for others as well. New age can be toxic because it’s doesn’t explore these topics and if it does it explores it more in a more Selfish way and focuses more on magic and being magic and mixing it more so with old witch craft beliefs

2cool 2jool buts that’s assuming everyone believes if god in Christianity’s point of view and believes in a Bible written by man. There’s are millions of people on this earth and many different beliefs that have be around longer than Christianity.
You can believe in god or a creator and not believe in the Bible’s teachings. The two are not coherent. You can believe in a higher being and have the same feeling of connection to a higher power and spirituality without believing in the exact teaching of the Bible.
I’ve studied the Bible in a religion for over 10 years. I know what the Bible says and it’s teachings. And the accounts that occurred. But it’s not something I think represents a loving creator or god.
But I respect people’s beliefs and do not push my own. I was simply saying the difference between what new age teaches and where manifestation comes from.
And manifestation does include work on the persons behalf. You don’t simply say this is what I want my life to be like and let it be. You actively put in the work and align yourself and actions to the goals you have. Manifestation is believing that my work and effort will be fruitful. It’s having a faith that things will work out if you’re putting in the work.
Same with prayer. You can’t just pray and not put in the work to align yourself with you are asking. Faith without work is dead. Same concept. When you pray for something you are supposed to do what you can on your part and faith it’ll work out.
