I haven't caught nearly as much moose as I have other animals in the game, 12 in total actually. 7 of which I skinned for a perfect pelt. Anytime I go to a location where I've caught moose before, I always put cover scent lotion on. Cattail pond is a good spot, also in and around the Colter area. I've gotten more 3 star moose than I have cougars, though. And in all 6 of my play throughs, I've never caught a panther. I was hunting and got killed by one near bolger glade almost as soon as it pounced on me. Lol but other than that, I've never been able to track one. They are by far the hardest animal to find in rdr2 imo. It honestly took me awhile to find a moose as well, but after I did, I can usually get one to spawn in the locations I've previously found them in. I've also haven't been able to find all snakes in Guarma before it makes you leave. If I have 1 gripe about the game, its that you can't explore more or Guarma, go back there whenever you want, go to the penitentiary and of course going to blackwater and the rest of the map you can't go with Arthur.
I couldn't explain the number of months/hours I tried to get any moose, let alone a three star moose. Literally within 5 minutes of watching your video i had a three star. Heroes are among us and we don't even realize 😅... thank you
Oh my god, guys, about 15 minutes ago I found this freaking male moose on Lake Isabella, I don’t think I’ve ever been happier. I looked in many places, and on another lake which is near Kolter, there were moose cows but no male moose. I saved, loaded, slept, repeated all this, in the end he appeared, noticed his horns when he turned on his eagle vision. Good luck to everyone, you will definitely find it
I have found that Barrow Lagoon tends to spawn a three star moose the very first time you visit. So when you go, you have to be ready to kill it with a big game rifle and high powered loads. My favorite moose spawn point is across the ravine from Wapiti, north of the weird statues cave / hobbit house. This spawn point is actually in the mountains where you cannot go to. You slide down if you try to walk up there. But there’s a moose there. Do NOT shoot the moose there or you won’t be able to skin it. Shoot the ground close to the moose to scare it. The moose cannot go further up the mountain. When it moves, the game mechanics force the moose to flee from the gun shot directly toward you. Then once it reaches a spot you can skin it, then you put in a headshot.
Hey yo! That’s a great spot. You can also herbivore bait and it will walk from the “out of bounds” towards you. Kill it before it spooks. And you can lasso and drag the carcass back in bounds for the skinning.
It's funny. When I needed that last the moose run to a place to die and its hard to get to it to skin. Whether it's a lake , a waterfall, or a cliff, or a incline. All happened to me . However they show up and you will get it. I got mine without using bait. I see them from far away , my TV is huge , or use binoculars like she says in video. Their is alot up north look north east, north of branywhine, near the waterfall, rite by that cottage in upper right corner of map.
Some other locations: There's a bull moose that spawns just to the south of Wallace Station in the middle of the road. Usually, it bolts down the hill towards the river if it has been spooked before seeing it. There's a (cow) Moose that spawns pretty regularly on the Upper Montana River at the first road crossing to the south of Owanjila Dam, it's less skittish than other moose spawns for some reason. There is a scripted animal encounter at Cattail Pond, where a bull moose will be rubbing its antlers on the dead tree to the side of the road. Owanjila actually has two spawns, one on the east end of the lake and one on west end. FYI: The Trapper needs 4 perfect moose pelts, which can come from a cow or a bull. Cow moose look a lot like cow elk, so it is always worth making an observation so that it shows up in the HUD. Pearson needs but one set of antlers which can come from any quality of bull moose.

OMG! You are a lifesaver! I’ve literally spent the last week trying to find the Western Bull Moose. Tried so many alleged spawn sites (Colter etc) nothing. Tried the Tall Trees location and there it was…first time!! It bolted so had a bit of a panic followed by a chase but managed to study, track and put 42 bullets in it 😅 not bothered about the pelt just going for the zoology and skin deep trophies. Thank you 🙏

The road North of Valentine, on your way to Window Rock/Chez Porter (that settlement where they talk funny); when you cross the small wooden bridge, go to the cliff sides on your right, and look back (another right). On the opposite cliff side (there will be a large gap), there will also be a Moose within sight. If you have a Rifle, it's an easy shot.
Spent all day searching Lake Elizabeth, Colter and Lake Cain and the ''out of bounds'' mountain one near the hobbit house..Nothing. I ended-up on your video, 1st time I went to Barrow Lagoon at 17:48 PM and BOOM! A 3 stars Moose that I caught with the lasso from my horse. Thank you! Other than that, I lost a day looking for the elusive bastard.
About the moose in Tall Trees, I several times got it to spawn around the lake Swadlass Point, on the bench side of the mountains, where there are three weird yurts or something you can put in your journal ! I kept riding back and forth between the lake and the Tall Trees trapper, to reset the random events/animals at the area, and checking with the Rolling Block what was on the other side of the lake every time ! I always got alternately a deer, a buck, a wapiti, a Skinner camp... Or the moose :) I got several mooses like that at the end of the game, to complete my Trapper wardrobe. I think it's one of the most reliable points with Brandywine Drop and Lake Owanjila. I did get it at O'Creagh's Run several times too, and a few times in the snowy mountains... The only known place for the moose I have NEVER ever seen it is near the Viking Tomb, where there is also a cougar... Some can have the moose there and then they got a sticker on the map, but this peculiar spot never worked for me.
Moose pelts are easy, it's the antlers I need. Saw a moose checking its pelt, I saw it was a two star and let it go, realizing a few moments later all I needed was the antlers. 😅
Guys Guys Guys, if you use Potent Herbivore bait literally anywhere Deers, Elks, Rams are at. A moose will spawn and walk towards the bait. I promise you it works, you don't even have to move a muscle. I easily hunt mooses using potent Herbivore bait. Works like a charm.
Didnt realize the moose was so rare in rdr2. I always come across the bull moose swimming across owanjila whenever i went there for hunt and always hunt it for its pelt and before i need it for the trapper i alr had enuf. Just needed the western moose coz i kinda forgot to track it for it compendium. But got it in a few reload at the legendary moose location. Feel kinda lucky that my animal luck in rdr2 was not so bad
I got a western moose near Emerald Ranch today whilst trying to get a pronghorn. I laid down some herbivore bait and didn’t expect a moose. I thought it was a bull from the nearby farm at first.
Tip for the Owanjila moose - make sure to get a clean kill if it's by the water - once I shot it, itran into the water and died, just far enough for me not to be able to skin it. Tried swimming to nudge it to the shore, tried roping, nothing worked. I think I might have the video somewhere. The most consistent spot for me has been up at Cattail Pond, right where the stream comes into the pond.
Great tip! I agree water can make it difficult if they run. Sometimes you can lasso them out of it but if it is too deep it won't work and trying to swim and move them to shore rarely works. I do prefer areas without deep water because of this!
I literally saw one yesterday. I was riding out of the mountains right by Barrow Lagoon (I had just killed Flaco) and I saw it. I tried to get my binoculars out to study him, but he ran off and I couldn't find him. Well now that I know where I saw him was a good spawn place I guess I gotta go back and get that moose.
Good suggestion. I do like to put clips in order of what are better spawns for me. If I went right to left or left to right some of the worst or rare spawns might be earlier in the video which might be less helpful.
I did not know about the lasso trick, whenever I try to headshot it doesn't kill the first time around then I'm left with a two star instead of three so that's helpful to know. Thank you.
Damn I didn't know some of them! Like the one near the tall trees, but I do come across it inside tall trees area though! Also the the burned indian reserves south of Strawberry, spawns a moose and lake Isabella as well. I am so in love with this game, I just don't know why. I have played like 8 times and I feel like going back again. I wish I could ease it from my memory and play it again.

It is crazy how many places a moose will spawn. The tall trees one is my favorite, so reliable for me but I get Moose in the weirdest places sometimes...usually when I am not looking for it!
So look at all the moose locations then your going to want to place 5-6 herbivore baits then go away from the area 2 or 3 moose can spawn at the same time just make sure to take a second horse. A guaranteed spot is Calibans seat along the Dakota river shore

A couple of the clothing items however require trips into New Austin which can only be done using the buggy obviously because of that damn sniper lol. Im going to check out some of your locations. This is driving me nuts! 2nd playthrough, seen only two 3* moose all game. One i killed by lake owanjila, only for my horse to get stuck under the map, and as i was wanted in the area at the time I got killed trying to get to the trapper on foot! Now, no moose are appearing anywhere! I hate this game at times!
The spawn rates can be frustrating at times! The hardest animal to find during one of my playthroughs was a 3 star badger. Couldn't find a 3 star anywhere, only 1 and 2 stars!

Tbis is so frustrating. I'm very much of the mindset of completing the side quests over the main missions and at the moment, I'm trying to get the moose antlers for Pearson. Spent two hours lurking up at very north east of the map and found loads of elk but no moose. Took a break, watched your video, then went over to the frozen lake. Another two hours (actual time, not in-game time) spent lurking around. Still nothing. Have given up.
The moose is probably one of the most frustrating spawns in the game! I would periodically check a location or two but don't spend a ton of time there. If it doesn't spawn within a few minutes I would move onto another spot or try a different day/time. Keep your eyes out when you are doing other activities and eventually you will get one to spawn!
Was just now Hunting a Beaver for a satchel upgrade at Owanjila. Look across the pond and see a three star bull moose so I start tracking it because the moose antlers are one of my only remaining camp upgrades but I go a little fast and spook it so the moose runs away. I naturally go after it but the moose ran into the forbidden part of West Elizabeth as soon as he does the moose turns to me giving me a clean headshot I shoot and kill it and run up real fast to skin him and get headed back to camp. Well as soon as I got to the moose I see the bounty hunter icons come into the screen I get blammyed and lose my moose. :(
I went up to lake barrow and saved and made it morning twice then kinda gave up on the area and went down to cat tail pond (Ive seen a three star female on that path but I needed a male) only to return to lake barrow run out on the lake and turn around to go back to cat tail pond and boom bull moose scared me
It's always funny to me when I am looking for a particular animal or checking spawns and then it just shows up unexpectedly! I would say the Moose is the hardest spawning animal in the game (for me).
@BlackKnight_ It did happen like that I remember checking and walking past the exact spot it spawned in your video getting about 10 feet away looking in the opposite direction then spinning around to run to cat tail and it was laying on the ice in the spot I'd checked before so it spooked me, and I agree the moose feels impossible when you need it
I feel like the spawn rates have to be randomized for each game. Some of my games, the moose is so easy to find it’s crazy. But I’m the one that I’m currently playing. I cannot find a three star moose to save my life. It’s very frustrating.
I strongly believe that this game can work out what animal you’re looking for and decides to mug you off with one and two star pelts for hours, just to piss you off!
One playthrough i was hunting the legendary moose i got a regular bull moose instead of the legendary i was shocked after i was skinning the moose. instead the legendary moose was staring at me across the river. That was the last time i saw a regular bull moose. 😐 Update I found a three star bull moose in tall trees in the exact ledge. Thank you.

There are a ton of locations! I just showed a few in the video that usually work best for me. There have been a few comments left with people saying what their best spots are. "Go north of Colter and keep going north on the east side of the stream." and " I think I found the best place to get a moose I found 3 moose’s perfect pelt in 15 min head near the E in the new in new Hanover and you need bait for this" I haven't had a ton of luck with herbivore bait but a lot of people swear by it and certain things do work differently for different people. you mentioned the Buck Antler Trinket at the end, how exactly does it function in your experience? for me I've tried at least 20 animals and it hasn't seemed to make any difference, unless its a super low chance it doesn't seem to work in the way i assumed. looking it up online people say they've tested it but every single person seems to have got different results for what it actually does. most confusing item in the game tbh
I'm actually not 100% sure because like you said, people seem to get different results. In my experience, I will sometimes get a 3 star pelt when I skin even if the animal was only a 2 star. This typically happens if I got a clean shot. The other thing I have noticed is that sometimes I won't get the perfect headshot but the animal will stay a 3 star instead of dropping down to 2 stars. But honestly I haven't tested it enough to know for sure. It is definitely a confusing item!
I’ve always found them beat the white Arabian horse spawn. My issue recently is the alters aren’t available to donate to Pearson. The pelt is, just not the antlers. Anyone know a fix?
I kept getting two star mosses on O'Creagh's Run so I went to Brandywine. There was another two star mosse. I loaded two reset and got killed by a cougar. When I respawned, a Three star moose showed up right next to me. So if you're not having luck, get killed maybe?
The moose is the hardest animal to spawn (for me). Sometimes it can take quite awhile to get what you are looking for. I do have two locations that are fairly consistent but there are so many spawn locations and what works for me, might not work for you! Good luck!

While trying to get the moose to spawn near brandywine, I kept getting a cougar attacking me 🤣 There is a really good static spawn as you are traveling down the road toward blackbone forest, I am assuming you have had no luck there?
Are you trying different areas? Not all areas work great for me. You have to find the one that works. If you have access to the Tall Trees area that would be a spot I recommend and the one heading toward the loft in the grizzlies. Both of those are very consistent for me but for others the lakes work best like owanjila, aurora basin, etc. Some people even have luck putting herbivore bait in the heartlands.
I am using a couple of different horses in this video! In the intro clip, I am using the Tiger Striped Mustang which can be found in the wild in the Rio Bravo area (in story). At the first Moose location at Barrow Lagoon, I am using the Maghogany Bay Tennessee Walker which is the horse you get at Sadie Adler's ranch in Chapter 1 of story. At the second location near Tall Trees ( and I think the rest of the video), I am using Rachel which is John's thoroughbred that you get at the beginning of Chapter 6. The tiger striped mustang is available in story and online but the Tennessee Walker and Rachel, the thoroughbred are only available in the story and they are only available at specific times. The Tennessee Walker you can only get in Chapter 1 and Rachel you can only get in Chapter 6.
It doesn't spawn everytime you go there you have to do something like reload or make fast travel or sleep or walk slowly it's hard to figure what you need to do
100% like I mention in the video, Moose are a tough spawn! They aren't always there and sometimes you need to employ different tricks to try and get them to spawn 😊

They can be hard to find! I'd check out the jean ropke map for more locations to try and/or try those locations again. I had trouble getting some to spawn for this video so it can take a little bit of time!
@@BlackKnight_ thing is when moose have spawned they’re 2 star. So reload the save and they don’t spawn anymore. Same goes for panthers. Gone to all spawns and done all the clearing activities and potent bait and sleeping and whatever else and nothing as wells
for whatever reason, I was able to get a moose or even elks to spawn at Emerald Ranch, near the giant water pond when using herbivore bait. very strange. I was trying to finish the hunter challenge when I came across this trick.

Everybody else is getting moose on the first try by watching this video meanwhile i still cant find one even after this video. Guess im just cursed to never get a moose 😢 Edit: Not but 5 minutes later after i posted this i found a three star moose lol
@christopherholt2537 you just have to find your spot! Everyone has a spawn spot that works better than others. Try different locations on the Jean Ropke maps at different times of the day. Set up camp nearby or try to load into the game in the general area but don't stress if you aren't seeing them spawn right away. The Moose is the hardest spawning animal in the game imo!
Did you know if you shoot a 2 star animal and leave it. Ride your horse away from it. Come back to the 2 star animal. When you study it it should just say what the animal is and nothing else. Skin it and it should say perfect pelt. This is a glitch I've never heard anyone talk about. It works 95% of the time on all animals. The bigger animals 98% of the time.
I've never really tried that but do you have the trinket that gives a higher chance for perfect pelts? Because when I have that I will sometimes get a 3 star pelt when I skin a 2 star animal. Not sure if that is related to this or not. I don't tend to pay too much attention to it at this point!
You don't need any special trinkets. You kill a 2 star animal leave it. Just ride away. Don't go super far because it will disappear. Go far enough that when you come back it just tells you that the animal is. Skin it and 95% of the time it will say perfect animal pelt. It works on all animals. Pigs, for some reason it works most of the time.

The spawn point north of the little hobbit house seems to be such a popular and successful spawn point for the moose for everyone except me 😢

Spent all day searching Lake Elizabeth, Colter and Lake Cain and the ''out of bounds'' mountain one near the hobbit house..Nothing. I ended-up on your video, 1st time I went to Barrow Lagoon at 17:48 PM and BOOM! A 3 stars Moose that I caught with the lasso from my horse. Thank you! Other than that, I lost a day looking for the elusive bastard.

About the moose in Tall Trees, I several times got it to spawn around the lake Swadlass Point, on the bench side of the mountains, where there are three weird yurts or something you can put in your journal ! I kept riding back and forth between the lake and the Tall Trees trapper, to reset the random events/animals at the area, and checking with the Rolling Block what was on the other side of the lake every time ! I always got alternately a deer, a buck, a wapiti, a Skinner camp... Or the moose :) I got several mooses like that at the end of the game, to complete my Trapper wardrobe. I think it's one of the most reliable points with Brandywine Drop and Lake Owanjila. I did get it at O'Creagh's Run several times too, and a few times in the snowy mountains...
The only known place for the moose I have NEVER ever seen it is near the Viking Tomb, where there is also a cougar... Some can have the moose there and then they got a sticker on the map, but this peculiar spot never worked for me.

Moose pelts are easy, it's the antlers I need. Saw a moose checking its pelt, I saw it was a two star and let it go, realizing a few moments later all I needed was the antlers. 😅
Just to let ya know. The moose at owanjila is sometimes being chased by a wolf. That may be what spooked him

Guys Guys Guys, if you use Potent Herbivore bait literally anywhere Deers, Elks, Rams are at. A moose will spawn and walk towards the bait. I promise you it works, you don't even have to move a muscle. I easily hunt mooses using potent Herbivore bait. Works like a charm.
The problem is that it doesn't work for everyone! That strat doesn't actually work for me that well but if it works, it is super useful!
Didnt realize the moose was so rare in rdr2. I always come across the bull moose swimming across owanjila whenever i went there for hunt and always hunt it for its pelt and before i need it for the trapper i alr had enuf. Just needed the western moose coz i kinda forgot to track it for it compendium. But got it in a few reload at the legendary moose location. Feel kinda lucky that my animal luck in rdr2 was not so bad

I got a western moose near Emerald Ranch today whilst trying to get a pronghorn. I laid down some herbivore bait and didn’t expect a moose. I thought it was a bull from the nearby farm at first.
Tip for the Owanjila moose - make sure to get a clean kill if it's by the water - once I shot it, itran into the water and died, just far enough for me not to be able to skin it. Tried swimming to nudge it to the shore, tried roping, nothing worked. I think I might have the video somewhere. The most consistent spot for me has been up at Cattail Pond, right where the stream comes into the pond.
Great tip! I agree water can make it difficult if they run. Sometimes you can lasso them out of it but if it is too deep it won't work and trying to swim and move them to shore rarely works. I do prefer areas without deep water because of this!
I got the Western Moose at Barrow Lagoon where you said it would be. I did the dupe pelt glitch so i dont need to go moose shopping again for pelts😂
Just save by a spawn location. If a 3 star doesn’t spawn, just reload till one does.
Yup! I talk about this often, if the animal isn't 3 star to reload or ride away and come back.
I literally saw one yesterday. I was riding out of the mountains right by Barrow Lagoon (I had just killed Flaco) and I saw it. I tried to get my binoculars out to study him, but he ran off and I couldn't find him. Well now that I know where I saw him was a good spawn place I guess I gotta go back and get that moose.
I recommend putting them in order right to left.
Good suggestion. I do like to put clips in order of what are better spawns for me. If I went right to left or left to right some of the worst or rare spawns might be earlier in the video which might be less helpful.
I did not know about the lasso trick, whenever I try to headshot it doesn't kill the first time around then I'm left with a two star instead of three so that's helpful to know. Thank you.

Poison arrows to the head or neck is always the best way to get a preserved kill for a 3 star in my opinion its never let me down.

It is crazy how many places a moose will spawn. The tall trees one is my favorite, so reliable for me but I get Moose in the weirdest places sometimes...usually when I am not looking for it!
There's a good spawn point NW of the Mysterious Hill House.
So look at all the moose locations then your going to want to place 5-6 herbivore baits then go away from the area 2 or 3 moose can spawn at the same time just make sure to take a second horse. A guaranteed spot is Calibans seat along the Dakota river shore

The game knows when you are looking for a moose. If you don't look for one, they are all over the place.

Hey just found your channel! Great guide I need 2 more moose to complete my trapper outfits for Arthur. Trying to get every clothing item for Arthur. A couple of the clothing items however require trips into New Austin which can only be done using the buggy obviously because of that damn sniper lol.

This is driving me nuts! 2nd playthrough, seen only two 3* moose all game. One i killed by lake owanjila, only for my horse to get stuck under the map, and as i was wanted in the area at the time I got killed trying to get to the trapper on foot! Now, no moose are appearing anywhere! I hate this game at times!
The spawn rates can be frustrating at times! The hardest animal to find during one of my playthroughs was a 3 star badger. Couldn't find a 3 star anywhere, only 1 and 2 stars!

Tbis is so frustrating. I'm very much of the mindset of completing the side quests over the main missions and at the moment, I'm trying to get the moose antlers for Pearson. Spent two hours lurking up at very north east of the map and found loads of elk but no moose. Took a break, watched your video, then went over to the frozen lake. Another two hours (actual time, not in-game time) spent lurking around. Still nothing. Have given up.
The moose is probably one of the most frustrating spawns in the game! I would periodically check a location or two but don't spend a ton of time there. If it doesn't spawn within a few minutes I would move onto another spot or try a different day/time. Keep your eyes out when you are doing other activities and eventually you will get one to spawn!
Was just now Hunting a Beaver for a satchel upgrade at Owanjila. Look across the pond and see a three star bull moose so I start tracking it because the moose antlers are one of my only remaining camp upgrades but I go a little fast and spook it so the moose runs away. I naturally go after it but the moose ran into the forbidden part of West Elizabeth as soon as he does the moose turns to me giving me a clean headshot I shoot and kill it and run up real fast to skin him and get headed back to camp. Well as soon as I got to the moose I see the bounty hunter icons come into the screen I get blammyed and lose my moose. :(
Luckily if you skinned it and it had antlers you should be able to just give the antlers directly to Pearson

I went up to lake barrow and saved and made it morning twice then kinda gave up on the area and went down to cat tail pond (Ive seen a three star female on that path but I needed a male) only to return to lake barrow run out on the lake and turn around to go back to cat tail pond and boom bull moose scared me
It's always funny to me when I am looking for a particular animal or checking spawns and then it just shows up unexpectedly! I would say the Moose is the hardest spawning animal in the game (for me).
@BlackKnight_ It did happen like that I remember checking and walking past the exact spot it spawned in your video getting about 10 feet away looking in the opposite direction then spinning around to run to cat tail and it was laying on the ice in the spot I'd checked before so it spooked me, and I agree the moose feels impossible when you need it

I feel like the spawn rates have to be randomized for each game. Some of my games, the moose is so easy to find it’s crazy. But I’m the one that I’m currently playing. I cannot find a three star moose to save my life. It’s very frustrating.
I strongly believe that this game can work out what animal you’re looking for and decides to mug you off with one and two star pelts for hours, just to piss you off!

One playthrough i was hunting the legendary moose i got a regular bull moose instead of the legendary i was shocked after i was skinning the moose. instead the legendary moose was staring at me across the river. That was the last time i saw a regular bull moose. 😐

I’ve been having trouble for the past 3 hours and I’m getting very frustrated. Are there any newer locations that you’ve found since this videos release? All of the locations haven’t worked for me
There are a ton of locations! I just showed a few in the video that usually work best for me. There have been a few comments left with people saying what their best spots are. "Go north of Colter and keep going north on the east side of the stream." and " I think I found the best place to get a moose I found 3 moose’s perfect pelt in 15 min head near the E in the new in new Hanover and you need bait for this" I haven't had a ton of luck with herbivore bait but a lot of people swear by it and certain things do work differently for different people. you mentioned the Buck Antler Trinket at the end, how exactly does it function in your experience? for me I've tried at least 20 animals and it hasn't seemed to make any difference, unless its a super low chance it doesn't seem to work in the way i assumed. looking it up online people say they've tested it but every single person seems to have got different results for what it actually does. most confusing item in the game tbh
I'm actually not 100% sure because like you said, people seem to get different results. In my experience, I will sometimes get a 3 star pelt when I skin even if the animal was only a 2 star. This typically happens if I got a clean shot. The other thing I have noticed is that sometimes I won't get the perfect headshot but the animal will stay a 3 star instead of dropping down to 2 stars. But honestly I haven't tested it enough to know for sure. It is definitely a confusing item!
I’ve always found them beat the white Arabian horse spawn. My issue recently is the alters aren’t available to donate to Pearson. The pelt is, just not the antlers.
Anyone know a fix?
Interesting, could be a bug? I haven't seen that before. I will have to load into story and see if I am able to donate antlers.

does moose antlers have any other use than decoration in the camp, i.e. at the trapper's?
I think the only thing you need at the trapper is the Moose pelts! I do not believe there is anything you can craft using the antlers.

I kept getting two star mosses on O'Creagh's Run so I went to Brandywine. There was another two star mosse. I loaded two reset and got killed by a cougar. When I respawned, a Three star moose showed up right next to me. So if you're not having luck, get killed maybe?

The moose is the hardest animal to spawn (for me). Sometimes it can take quite awhile to get what you are looking for. I do have two locations that are fairly consistent but there are so many spawn locations and what works for me, might not work for you! Good luck!

While trying to get the moose to spawn near brandywine, I kept getting a cougar attacking me 🤣 There is a really good static spawn as you are traveling down the road toward blackbone forest, I am assuming you have had no luck there?

Are you trying different areas? Not all areas work great for me. You have to find the one that works. If you have access to the Tall Trees area that would be a spot I recommend and the one heading toward the loft in the grizzlies. Both of those are very consistent for me but for others the lakes work best like owanjila, aurora basin, etc. Some people even have luck putting herbivore bait in the heartlands.

What kind of horse do you have? Very cool looking
I am using a couple of different horses in this video! In the intro clip, I am using the Tiger Striped Mustang which can be found in the wild in the Rio Bravo area (in story). At the first Moose location at Barrow Lagoon, I am using the Maghogany Bay Tennessee Walker which is the horse you get at Sadie Adler's ranch in Chapter 1 of story. At the second location near Tall Trees ( and I think the rest of the video), I am using Rachel which is John's thoroughbred that you get at the beginning of Chapter 6. The tiger striped mustang is available in story and online but the Tennessee Walker and Rachel, the thoroughbred are only available in the story and they are only available at specific times. The Tennessee Walker you can only get in Chapter 1 and Rachel you can only get in Chapter 6.
It doesn't spawn everytime you go there you have to do something like reload or make fast travel or sleep or walk slowly it's hard to figure what you need to do
100% like I mention in the video, Moose are a tough spawn! They aren't always there and sometimes you need to employ different tricks to try and get them to spawn 😊

They can be hard to find! I'd check out the jean ropke map for more locations to try and/or try those locations again. I had trouble getting some to spawn for this video so it can take a little bit of time!

IMO the Moose is the hardest animal to spawn in the game. Sometimes it just doesn't happen until you find the spot that works best for you!

There are quite a few locations in the video, I would try another one! They don't all work for everyone and I have better luck with some than others.

@christopherholt2537 you just have to find your spot! Everyone has a spawn spot that works better than others. Try different locations on the Jean Ropke maps at different times of the day. Set up camp nearby or try to load into the game in the general area but don't stress if you aren't seeing them spawn right away. The Moose is the hardest spawning animal in the game imo!

Did you know if you shoot a 2 star animal and leave it. Ride your horse away from it. Come back to the 2 star animal. When you study it it should just say what the animal is and nothing else. Skin it and it should say perfect pelt. This is a glitch I've never heard anyone talk about. It works 95% of the time on all animals. The bigger animals 98% of the time.
I've never really tried that but do you have the trinket that gives a higher chance for perfect pelts? Because when I have that I will sometimes get a 3 star pelt when I skin a 2 star animal. Not sure if that is related to this or not. I don't tend to pay too much attention to it at this point!
@BlackKnight_ you don't need that trinket for this glitch to work. This work right from the start of chapter 2.
You don't need any special trinkets. You kill a 2 star animal leave it. Just ride away. Don't go super far because it will disappear. Go far enough that when you come back it just tells you that the animal is. Skin it and 95% of the time it will say perfect animal pelt. It works on all animals. Pigs, for some reason it works most of the time.
