I love this episode. Hyacinth always allows those "above her station" to get away with "Bucket", but not without an eye-roll ! Everyone else get " It's BOOOOO-KAAAAAY !"
Hyacint: "Oh what a disaster! The one positive thing right now is my Sheridan. My dearest son is the best, because he doesn't like girls and he wears silk pyjamas together with his roommate Tarquin."
I think she was more confused by the fact the councillor saw them as a thug and his mole when Rose is her sister after all and as promiscuous as she is she's never shown the slightest interest in Onslow. It was also an insult to Daisy who wasn't even there.
You’d think Councillor Mrs Nugent would remember Rose from when she had to return her undies from the charity shop (although it was Shirley Stelfox playing her then)
I know the show aired 30 years ago, but it is timeless. Sad so many of the actors who played their characters brilliantly are gone, Rose, Osnlow, Richard, Counselor Mrs Nugent, are the ones Ive heard of. Awesome talents....they're missed!!
Onslow did look like “he’d looked like that all his life!” Unfortunately, Geoffrey Hughes passed away in 2012 at only age 68. I’ll never forget Onslow’s wife Daisy (played by Judy Cornwall) describing him as, “Bone idle, work-shy, and out of condition.” (She loved him just the same.) And equally memorable was Onslow’s reaction to anything disagreeable to him: “Aw, nice!” What an absolutely wonderful ensemble cast of characters in endlessly enjoyable comedic plots!
I laughed so hard when counsellor dressed up in that leather outfit and coppers looked as if to say ‘what the hell’ but she had absolutely no idea it wasn’t a play lol 😂
Usually posher and with a british drawl Misssuss Counsillllorrr Nugaaaant😂😂😂!!!! Or how Rose refers to her:: Hyacinth, isn't that your Counsillor Nugent friend!!!! Wasn't there an episode with Mrs. Counsillor Nugent in fishnets, stilletos, and leather with a whip??😁😁..
Oh, they missed the bit when Richard is under suspicion and is escorted home by two policemen, only to find his wife has dressed Mrs Councilor-Nugent & Elizabeth in saucy costumes!
Anyone else see this episode...Richard comes home escorted by 2 police men and the ladies come out of the house looking like bordello "workers" absolutely hilarious!!! Mrs. Nugent thinks the cops are actors too!
And Rose, in spite of Hyacinth's disapproval, looks more natural and decent, then tasteless kitchy Dolly Patton. If not her heavenly voice -she'd be a nonsense.
Councillor Mrs Nugent hahaha, she was brilliant too. Loved how Elizabeth and Emmet and that never said anything about Onslow, Daisy and Rose... They always got on so well with them
Mary Allen Want a real treat? Google Patricia Routledge. Her life is amazing. To hear her sing made me weep. She is extraordinary. Listen as she does everything from Gilbert and Sullivan to, what I am particularly referencing for you above, You'll Never Walk Alone. Am so very grateful. Cheers
Here she is Counselor Nugent! I love how she talks. She’s just raw. Like the time Hyacinth ran into her at the toy store when her daddy stole all the toys and she had to get him. That episode was hilarious.
Thank you Britbox for always saying what series (season in the US) and episode it is I have KUP on DVD and on my PC (transferred because you never know when the DVD is going to go the way of the VCR) and I love watching the full length episodes.
In one episode Councillor Nugent asks Hyacinth “Why waste your money on a cab?” I would be pissed off and annoyed if someone ever asked me that. Cabs may be more expensive than buses and trains, but they do have their benefits. At least cabs can always take you directly to where you want to go, buses and trains may be cheaper, but they can’t always take you directly to your destination and often you have to take multiple buses or trains to your destination and/or you have to walk from the bus stop or train station to your destination.
love this show use to try to stay up late to watch ⌚ this show on pbs when everyone was fast asleep would be crackin up😊 rolling on the floor laughing at this at show 🤣🤣🤣 wish it was still on though mane i miss this show badly 😭
You cut out the funniest part. Liz and counselor Mrs. Nugent answered the door dressed like they were in cabaret. And Richard was accompanied by two policeman.
I had a neighbor and good friend that reminded me of Onslow in every way even looks. He died from kidney failure. I used to think his wife was a friend as well. after he died she changed her phone number and proved me wrong.
Some serious cringe here. What is funny is that, the councillor probably comes from a humble background and takes steps to hide her own extended family. lol 😂
I love this episode.
Hyacinth always allows those "above her station" to get away with "Bucket", but not without an eye-roll !
Everyone else get " It's BOOOOO-KAAAAAY !"
I always find it funny when Hyacinth tries so hard to prevent embarrassment but ends up embarrassing herself anyway. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
She's do sweet.
Hyacint: "Oh what a disaster! The one positive thing right now is my Sheridan. My dearest son is the best, because he doesn't like girls and he wears silk pyjamas together with his roommate Tarquin."
i like how shes the only one who can get away with Bucket
Hyacinth stifles it!
Kane Knightwolf yes you’re right, I forgot about that.
Me 2😄
🤣🤣🤣😂😂😅😅
She does that with all those "above her station". Wouldn't want to alienate her " betters" !
“I never knew your husband made films” .... No. Neither did Richard 😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😅😅
🤣😂🤣😂
I love how the councilor is judging them but still has a sense of duty to help them.
I love the fact Hyacinth's face shows she does not approve of the comments she made towards her family.
Steven Sheef she did love them just didn’t want to be seen with them! Lol
With Mrs Fortescue, she thanked her for noticing "these people weren't her sort" (from memory).
So yes, progress here.
I think she was more concerned with how them being there was making her look lol.
She genuinely seemed to care about her family. Just not in the daylight. 🤣
I think she was more confused by the fact the councillor saw them as a thug and his mole when Rose is her sister after all and as promiscuous as she is she's never shown the slightest interest in Onslow. It was also an insult to Daisy who wasn't even there.
Maybe it’s just me but I love how Councillor Nugent says ‘Bucket’ as if she knows Hyacinth pretends her names Bouquet.
"They've got your type dead right." 😆
Such passive-aggressive sl*t shaming🤭
Everyone in this show is brilliant, but counsellor Mrs Nudgent steals the scene here
You’d think Councillor Mrs Nugent would remember Rose from when she had to return her undies from the charity shop (although it was Shirley Stelfox playing her then)
I love when Hyacinth mouths shut up to Onslow 😂
Wished Councillor, Mrs Nugent appeared in more episodes; she was a great foil for Hyacinth. And RIP to Charmian May who played the character so well.
I agree. I wish she was in more episodes. She was definitely one of my favorite characters
Charmian May was great one of my favourite characters in KUA. She was also great as Mrs Weaver in The Good Life
I know the show aired 30 years ago, but it is timeless. Sad so many of the actors who played their characters brilliantly are gone, Rose, Osnlow, Richard, Counselor Mrs Nugent, are the ones Ive heard of. Awesome talents....they're missed!!
@@richardburke5686 Both Roses too.
@@richardburke5686Elizabeth too. Just Hyacinth and Emmet left.
Councillor Mrs Nugent was such a legend. Wish she had of been in more episodes
She's kind of like Thatcher, isn't she?
I really liked her too. I’ve met a few of these in my time!
@@vincentsmit1935 she definitely gives off Tory vibes
Onslow is definitely a Liverpool Labour man ❤
Liz is a Lib Dem if ever I saw one
First of all, it's not "had of", but "had have". Second of all, it's not "had have", but "had been".
She is in several episodes. This wasn't her only appearance.
Onslow did look like “he’d looked like that all his life!” Unfortunately, Geoffrey Hughes passed away in 2012 at only age 68.
I’ll never forget Onslow’s wife Daisy (played by Judy Cornwall) describing him as, “Bone idle, work-shy, and out of condition.” (She loved him just the same.) And equally memorable was Onslow’s reaction to anything disagreeable to him: “Aw, nice!”
What an absolutely wonderful ensemble cast of characters in endlessly enjoyable comedic plots!
His smoking played a part in his early demise no doubt. He was a classic.
Onslow: 'How are you going to cope when I'm not around'?
Daisy: 'The same way we've been coping when you were around'
Onslow: 'Oh'
RIP, Geoffrey
I laughed so hard when counsellor dressed up in that leather outfit and coppers looked as if to say ‘what the hell’ but she had absolutely no idea it wasn’t a play lol 😂
The lengths some people will go to to get what they want! I’d love to see her reaction when she realises it isn’t a film😂
The best part was just coming up. If you haven't seen the full episode, you have to see the very end, it's hilarious.
I know! I was bummed out that they cut it short.
@@vangogo6819 Thanks 😃
@@tigergreg8 you're welcome fellow Councillor Lady Nugent fan, lol🤗
😂👍
- Extraordinary realism
- _Thank you._
Have you noticed that Hyacinth's accent becomes posher when she's speaking to Mrs Councillor Nugent?
Usually posher and with a british drawl Misssuss Counsillllorrr Nugaaaant😂😂😂!!!! Or how Rose refers to her:: Hyacinth, isn't that your Counsillor Nugent friend!!!! Wasn't there an episode with Mrs. Counsillor Nugent in fishnets, stilletos, and leather with a whip??😁😁..

The episode:
That's actually the one!
“Foh the pwaaaaaaaah!”
"When someone his size says give him a push you give him a push!" 🤣🤣🤣
I SO wish Councillor Mrs Nugent appeared in more episodes!
This second rose suited better than the first one
Well she couldn't help dying
Roberto Moi The first Rose died years after she played the part in fact Mary Millar who played the 2nd one died before the 1st one did
@@pedanticradiator1491 True. Mary Millar passed away 3 years after the series ended. Shirley Stelfox (the original Rose) passed away in 2015.
They were both very sexy.

Oh, they missed the bit when Richard is under suspicion and is escorted home by two policemen, only to find his wife has dressed Mrs Councilor-Nugent & Elizabeth in saucy costumes!
Councillor Nugent is the only character Hyacinth Bucket doesn't correct with "It's Bouquet!" After being called "Mrs Bucket"
Councillor, Mrs Nugent was quite intimidating.
“And what about yours, MRS BUCKET?”
Anyone else see this episode...Richard comes home escorted by 2 police men and the ladies come out of the house looking like bordello "workers" absolutely hilarious!!! Mrs. Nugent thinks the cops are actors too!
Well, we’re ready when you are!
Rose looks like a British Dolly Parton. ❤❤❤
And Rose, in spite of Hyacinth's disapproval, looks more natural and decent, then tasteless kitchy Dolly Patton. If not her heavenly voice -she'd be a nonsense.
she looks like blanche
There's something, but she's more like Blanche from the Golden Girls, she actually looks like her, if she had longer more fluffier hair
Councillor Nugent gets away with saying "Mrs Bucket" 👏
Enter the only woman permitted to call her Mrs Bucket within earshot without correction.
TRUE.
You cut out Onslow's response to Rose at the end: _"If a job's worth doing, it's worth doing right."_
Councillor Mrs Nugent hahaha, she was brilliant too. Loved how Elizabeth and Emmet and that never said anything about Onslow, Daisy and Rose... They always got on so well with them
Councillor Mrs. Nugent or sometimes Mrs. Councillor-Nugent
I like Mrs. Councillor-Nugent better.

Councillor. Although I'm sure they all needed counselling
I wish I could watch this show. I love their facial expressions.
Most of the episodes are on daily motion
First time ive ever seen the counsellor smile
It always cracks me up that Onslow never helps push the car.
Love this show 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I wonder if she ended up on the committee?!
This is the first time I've seen someone call Hyacinth Ms. Bucket and get away with it
That councillor looks like she could ride a bike with her legs crossed.
Rose: Do you mind? Who d'you think.........
The look on Rose's face. LOL 1:22
Omg my nerves are gone ffs 😂😂. "It's counsellor Mrs Nugent". 😂😂😂
Whenever you come up with a lie always have a means of escape, don't dig yourself into a hole you can't get out of.
I used to think Councillor Mrs Nugent was a man in drag lol

Sort of like Wallis
It was the first thing I thought as well!
I still do !
Isn't he or she ? I wonder.
When the councillor calls onslow a thug and rose his moll, faf
2:30 when she opened her mouth i thought she was about to slime me through the screen with slobber!

1:17 = *Onslow:* A film?!
*Hyacinth:* Shut up.

They’re not really like this , they’re in a film ! 😂😂😂😂😂
Love how Hyacinth turned worst of situations into her advantage here 😂!
Charmian played miss pentangle and thunderblast from the worst witch 1998 series
Still trying to figure out what Rose was doing when pushing the car. She was doing some type of music video.( video vixen).

Councillor Mrs. Nugent is the only person Hyacinth never corrected about the pronunciation of her name...
