Papo you are genius, there is no such a thing here in UK at all. The attention to details is supreme and deserves all compliments. And no I don't have a problem on my wheels, just accidentally stumbled on your youtube presentation. Congrats!!!
Good professional work! For all those who say new rim would be cheaper yes in some cases but in some cases not at all or there is no way to buy it anymore specially for vintage cars and super cars this service can save a lot of money.
My son is CNC operator on such machines and he is very self cofident but i think he must improve a lot of thing to achieve this level of craftmanship. For this guy ervery respect. I am Marine Engineer .
This was truly an awesome video on showing how to repair damaged wheels, it is the best one that I have seen on youtube. Great job guys I have a lil curb rash on one of my after market wheels and I would love to send them to you guys for repair. This was a very informative and interesting video, outstanding job once again!!
Great video! The Zen of rim restoration! The final soundtrack lulls one into a soothing sense that everything will be okay again ... no more wobble, no more ugly scrapes .. just beautifully restored rims coaxed back to life with love and care!
clever cnc lathe which never seem to of been replaced with anything better luv cnc and watching the swirls of metal twisting off . great job .and no painting involved .
George Fraser no paint is a bad thing, the rim would have been anodised or lacquered to start with. give these rims a few months and they will look horrible.
for all the people saying get a new rim , what if they are special rims that are no longer made? or off a classic car that needs to be original? this is where doing this repair makes sense as cost is no object in cases like this
Most cases where this is viable with the cost is when one rim is damaged. You can repair one rim versus the cost of replacing all of the rims since rims get discontinued all the time.
damn you guys dont Fuck around. that was a really really clean job. I didn't even know there was a rim repair shop. for so many people with curbed expensive rims. this is the place for them.
Pretty slick, I like the digitizer probe. I need to see if I can get a few of those for my company, although we don't repair wheels it would be glorious to have software that would allow me to profile something like that.
I swear I never see so many haters and shit talkers!!! Fix my Rim is the best in NYC!! I take my rims there and wow I can't believe how good of a job he does!! Even celebrities go to him! So for people to say bad shit for no reason! you ain't shit! Wow people aways gotta talk negative shit I swear I can't stand Haters!
Superb workmanship in revitalising that abused and damaged wheel. Your custom built CNC machine is testimony to your professionalism. Perhaps the wheel owner will use judgement and skill when parking, rather than relying on the shrieking of tortured aluminium to let them how close the kerb is...
I need to get two of my rims repaired. I have no idea on how they got slightly bent. You can not notice it right away but you can see it when I have my tires balanced.
The digitizer measures the curve of the rim, so that when it cuts it's surface, it follows this curve, they're not "flattening" the rims, they're just removing the damaged surface (facing) first rough, then final, Of course if the lack of material exceeds a certain amount, filler is required. The trick here is not just the CNC, but the digitizing head.
there is a very sneaky curb on my street that i always have to park next to that ive hit a few times. roots from a large tree are busting the concrete out. i know its there but its so dark at night you cant see it.

So the final cut was about .5 mm deep to cut the repaired areas and the undamaged areas to the same level plane? Also, did you clear coat it? The machined look is great but the corrosion on them is really bad; Honda wheels specifically.
i bought a set of 3-pc wheels for a great deal that i am currently rebuilding. i need to get the INNER barrels fixed. they have cuts, nicks, gashes here and there. but i already took the wheels apart. so from the video, to get what i need done, i guess 'd have to temporarily re-assemble them so that they could be put on a truing machine. is that correct?
hi love the video.. how much for my set of 15" rims.. coming from cali to nyc.. how much to repair them and ship them back?.. can cut a check with the rims.. I've seen other repair there rim but like your way. it not a rush thing for now but will love to do this before spring2017.. thqnks
Ya probably cheeper to buy a new rim if your rims are $100 each. I had one of my 3 piece rims repaired for $425. Each one of my rims were $1385 each. I had them powdercoated for $160 each in a 2 stage powdercoat. So i got a fresh new look nobody has and my rim repair for less then replacing the rim and they did it in 2 days when it would have taken 4 weeks to get a new one cut out, finished, assembled and shipped from Japan. Only regret I have was not paying the $200 for the 2 year finish warranty they offered me.
Does the coating (I didn't see this stage on the video, but I think it is just not interesting to show) peel off on the one side of each spoke after turning?
Didn't show the part when the wheel was getting straightened, didn't show the after welds of the repairs.. Good video but I really wanted to see that process in detail
Integra DIY you must have been watching a different video than the rest of us. The wheel was corrected from the inside by hydrohalic pressure and the bead was welded and, in the last pass of the CNC machine finished to perfection.
I did watch the video and that has nothing to do with what I commented on. I commented that they are essentiallyaking the wheel thinner by taking a layer of metal from it. I know that the thikness of the wheel would not be noticeable, but this process will flatten any horizontal curves of the spokes that the wheel might have. Mr. Robert Bradley, idk what you drive but if your wheel costs 1800 at the dealer you are hetting shafted...and just because
because maybe sometimes people buy really nice sets of wheels that cost in the range of 2k+ .... like some Volk TE37s... buying cheap wheels for $145 a wheel is just asking for broken wheels
as a one that works in the OE industry of making alloy rims,i say this is a NO NO malicular structure changes completely, leaving the rim open to failure, this sort of thing is irresponsible, some people will try this at home and fail, that is a certainty.
I never thought there was so much process restoring a wheel! I need to do mine, how much would it cost to fix just one, like the one in the video? Great job fixing that one!!
serious black Dude, your rims are probably worth more than your car. Give it a rest with the "$1300 rims from Japan" thing. The rim in this video appeared to be a fairly common type rim.
That's pretty awesome, but i would think that this process would cost WAY more then just buying another rim. I have 22" rims and the price they want to just rechrome the rim is equal to me just buying another one and the rechroming process is easier then this repair!

I met this dude this week at his shop....great guys and great work on my rims..=) thanks guys for the great work
Good professional work! For all those who say new rim would be cheaper yes in some cases but in some cases not at all or there is no way to buy it anymore specially for vintage cars and super cars this service can save a lot of money.
I like your choice in music. It's hard to believe it's the same rim, very good results, visually.
My son is CNC operator on such machines and he is very self cofident but i think he must improve a lot of thing to achieve this level of craftmanship. For this guy ervery respect. I am Marine Engineer .
Damn that was a sick ass repair that room looks better then new

Very, very interesting to see all of the steps taken to restore the rim.
for all the people saying get a new rim , what if they are special rims that are no longer made? or off a classic car that needs to be original? this is where doing this repair makes sense as cost is no object in cases like this
Well but this rim is not. It looks like a generic toyota crap.
Wazze Mazze it’s a SEL Ford Fusion rim and expensive lol. Not every car had them
And how often is that, not enough too stay in the black
Most cases where this is viable with the cost is when one rim is damaged. You can repair one rim versus the cost of replacing all of the rims since rims get discontinued all the time.
New rim can be anywhere between 550 to 950 for a factory rim,by far the best cheapest, most quality you can get....
damn you guys dont Fuck around. that was a really really clean job. I didn't even know there was a rim repair shop. for so many people with curbed expensive rims. this is the place for them.
I'm a big fan of when someone does their job professionally, whatever it may be
Great work!
Pretty slick, I like the digitizer probe. I need to see if I can get a few of those for my company, although we don't repair wheels it would be glorious to have software that would allow me to profile something like that.
Owner must be in love with those rims
The best music with I ever heard during a video I felt like dancing lol 😁
+jaime flpres Search for Raul Di Blasio. The 3 songs are his.
Wish there was a repair shop like this in Puerto Rico........
I swear I never see so many haters and shit talkers!!!

papo got the freshest beats on youtube
I like the way you made/modded your equipment.
NICE WORK , I am going to have this done on my 96 impala as rims.
AND BY THE WAY THE MUSIC SUCKS I WAS ALMOST FALLING ASLEEP!! LOL
Good work guys ,ex precision machine operator.
If I lived in Queens you would definately get my business
Impressive! The rim looks like new!
Superb workmanship in revitalising that abused and damaged wheel.
Your custom built CNC machine is testimony to your professionalism.
Perhaps the wheel owner will use judgement and skill when parking, rather than relying on the shrieking of tortured aluminium to let them how close the kerb is...
Amazing work. Hope you guys are still prospering!!! :-)
Well done mate! You are really professional!!!
only proper repair vid I have seen on You Tube!!
Unbelievable the techknowledgy nowa days great job.
This was so satisfying.
I need to get two of my rims repaired. I have no idea on how they got slightly bent. You can not notice it right away but you can see it when I have my tires balanced.
Esa musica esta de show, suena como Pedro Guzman o el jibaro jazz Saludos Boricua desde California
THE RIM is GREAT ,THE MUSIC is O.K. relaxing:)
I liked the sound track. Nice piano player.
Nice job! And perfect music!!!!

I like the result, and the music. Great

Fair price, excellent fix! :) I wish I can find workshop like yours in Taiwan !
wow ! the rims is back !!
Very unfortunate this shop is closed down. I am in desperate need of getting my rims repaired. 😮💨

It may have been said before the red dot on the tyre is heavily recommended to be set at the valve, but other wise a good repair well done.
Good one Justin!!!
Dig the funky backing music...(put me to sleep)
excellent job they look awesome!
Nice video and great work. What if your rims are silver painted aluminum, do you just re-spray the restored area?
So the final cut was about .5 mm deep to cut the repaired areas and the undamaged areas to the same level plane? Also, did you clear coat it? The machined look is great but the corrosion on them is really bad; Honda wheels specifically.
Awesome work!

very cool video and repair
Hello I have AMG wheels and I need this on all 4. Previous owner loved curbs. What is the cost of this repair?
Nice video! Would love to see the part where you corrected the wobble.

DAMN that's reasonable! I wonder if there's some place like yours in the Bay area.
wow all the fancy work i am pretty sure for average joe it would cost like 500 per/rim or more
shboo na
Great video. Love the music. What's it called?
Geoff..England.

I used this place once. Just off Northern Blvd.
Wobble in the RIM... nice explanation :-)
Nice work!

Wow, that's a nice professional job. Seems very time consuming though.
Love the music!.... so you are saying I can buy a new wheel for the price it takes for you to fix the old one? how expensive is this??
thats how rim renew is accomplished!!!!!
They do good work i have to say that!
Sorry for your loss too, a man got killed there polishing a rim?
Does this work on convex and concave wheels? Is that what the digitizing was about, following the shape of the spokes?
Didn't show the part when the wheel was getting straightened, didn't show the after welds of the repairs.. Good video but I really wanted to see that process in detail

Lovey work... keep it up
Why isn't the cutting lube being sprayed onto the CNC bit? That will leave a harsh finish and wear out the bit
because maybe sometimes people buy really nice sets of wheels that cost in the range of 2k+ .... like some Volk TE37s... buying cheap wheels for $145 a wheel is just asking for broken wheels
so the weld worked as a filler then u face it all off until u had a nice finish?
I was under the impression that welding aluminum rims causes them to become weaker. Cast aluminum loses a lot of its strength after welding.
You are correct by welding on the wheel, even aluminum , its annealing the aluminum from the heat.
as a one that works in the OE industry of making alloy rims,i say this is a NO NO malicular structure changes completely, leaving the rim open to failure, this sort of thing is irresponsible, some people will try this at home and fail, that is a certainty.
oddball question, is that using a Centroid control on the CNC?
Perfect Job Sir
I knew this song sounded familiar, they were playing it at the regal begal and one time at the copa cabana.
AWESOME JOB!!
Nice rim job
I never thought there was so much process restoring a wheel! I need to do mine, how much would it cost to fix just one, like the one in the video?
Great job fixing that one!!
Really nice!!!!!!!!
my wheels are gloss black from factory can you guys refinish with same color when repaired?
Or $15 at Pick/N/Pull. U/Pull/R/Parts, etc. Love the video though
The edge lip is 1.5 times the size from machining.
NICE WORK
Awesome. Love it.
Wouldn't the machine taking the metal of the rim ruin the lip on the rim or make it thinner?
This would have to cost less than $50 to be a effective solution. After $50 you can get a good condition used rim.
Not if you have a custom 3 piece rim from Japan like I do that take 4 weeks to build and ship to the us and cost $1300 each
serious black STFU, no one fucking cares!
serious black Dude, your rims are probably worth more than your car. Give it a rest with the "$1300 rims from Japan" thing. The rim in this video appeared to be a fairly common type rim.
+Raymond Broderick if you bought 1300 dollar rims seems like you have more money then brains
if you habe a bent/broken wheel , theres no cheap way around, you bette buy another one fixing is not safe....
great results 👍
Can this be done to the hub from behind to change the offset in a wheel?
Great Video
I can imagine it would cost something around buying it brand new XD specially with US prices ;)
You are right
Can I find a machine shop like that in Puerto Rico?
Wow, amazing job.
That's pretty awesome, but i would think that this process would cost WAY more then just buying another rim. I have 22" rims and the price they want to just rechrome the rim is equal to me just buying another one and the rechroming process is easier then this repair!
Très beau travail !
nice music - very well done
Good job, nice music
