Ever since I read the origin of Ilvermorny, I've kind of wondered how Jame's Steward's wands are viewed by master wand crafters in the HP universe. Are they considered to be inferior wands? Would somebody like Olivander take a look at a Steward wand and scoff at the workmanship? How would learning it was made by James affect their opinion of the craftsmanship? (In a way, Steward wands are like looking at a sloppy juvenile painting, only to discover it was made by a man who had been blind his entire life and had relied on others to tell him what color things were and which colors he was painting with. On a similar note, given that some of the stuff at Pottermore I've read states that wands are essentially alive, I wonder if Steward wands have the same violent reaction to muggles trying to use them. After all, their "father" was a muggle. On the other hand, how dangerous to James was making the wands in the first place?
Knowing what I know of Mr. Ollivander, he would be fascinated and astonished by James’ wands! The very idea a muggle could make functional wands would be a delightful curiosity! LuBlue I think it's because Helga Hufflepuff and really Hufflepuff's in general tend to be more welcoming to muggle borns (because of their kindness), and many of them are muggle borns. Maybe I'm wrong but that's what I think. :P

I was sorted in Hufflepuff for Hogwarts, and for Ilvermorny I was sorted into Thunderbird. My wand is silver lime wood with an unicorn hair core and is a slightly yielding flexibility and is 10 inches long..and my patronus is a Nebelung cat!

I'm surpsied the non-magical dude could create wands. Olivander makes it seem like there's many layers and a ton od depth to wand-making. How could a Muggle make funtional wands without having any magic of his own?

LuBlue I think it's because Helga Hufflepuff and really Hufflepuff's in general tend to be more welcoming to muggle borns (because of their kindness), and many of them are muggle borns. Maybe I'm wrong but that's what I think. :P
