Tenebris Fractum the houses each represent one part of a wizard. The heart (Pukwudgie), the body (Wampus), the soul (Thunderbird), and the mind (Horned Serpent). So you have to have at least one quality of a wizard because to get to Ilvermorny in the first place you have to be a wizard.

Albus Dumbledore there probably is. But there is 11 BIG schools in the world, then there are many small ones that doesn’t really count. Many wizards decide to teach their children at home (aka home schooling). But you don’t have to be from England to go to Hogwarts, for example the Japanese school (don’t remember it’s name) it takes a huge amount of foreigners in, and I think all schools actually do. RIGHT ME IF IM WRONG

yeah, I am mad at that too, but I heard it is because JK did a Rowling and made it offensive. I mean I can see that "william" wasn't the best choice, like they could make it a house but not "william". Unfortunately I do not think we can get a second chance, Rowling doesn't want to do anything with America because of that. rowling is also doing that twitter thing so I guess we have to wait until that whole thing is fixed

I'm surpsied the non-magical dude could create wands. Olivander makes it seem like there's many layers and a ton od depth to wand-making. How could a Muggle make funtional wands without having any magic of his own?

Ever since I read the origin of Ilvermorny, I've kind of wondered how Jame's Steward's wands are viewed by master wand crafters in the HP universe. Are they considered to be inferior wands? Would somebody like Olivander take a look at a Steward wand and scoff at the workmanship? How would learning it was made by James affect their opinion of the craftsmanship? (In a way, Steward wands are like looking at a sloppy juvenile painting, only to discover it was made by a man who had been blind his entire life and had relied on others to tell him what color things were and which colors he was painting with.
On a similar note, given that some of the stuff at Pottermore I've read states that wands are essentially alive, I wonder if Steward wands have the same violent reaction to muggles trying to use them. After all, their "father" was a muggle.
On the other hand, how dangerous to James was making the wands in the first place?
Maybe James only made a few wands once Ilvermonys reputation grew a more qualified wand maker could've come in and made the others

Knowing what I know of Mr. Ollivander, he would be fascinated and astonished by James’ wands! The very idea a muggle could make functional wands would be a delightful curiosity! Ollivander would have loved to meet him and exchange ideas, notes, techniques, and wand core properties.

I was sorted in Hufflepuff for Hogwarts, and for Ilvermorny I was sorted into Thunderbird. My wand is silver lime wood with an unicorn hair core and is a slightly yielding flexibility and is 10 inches long..and my patronus is a Nebelung cat!

Ilvermorny is the "sister school" of Hogwarts, it was founded by a descendant of Salazar Slytherin that had immigrated to America to escape their crazy relatives (the Gaunts)
this descendant had wished to attend Hogwarts, but was denied the chance and forced to flee to America back when it was just a colony
Slytherin's American descendant founded Ilvermorny and modelled it after Hogwarts

LuBlue I think it's because Helga Hufflepuff and really Hufflepuff's in general tend to be more welcoming to muggle borns (because of their kindness), and many of them are muggle borns. Maybe I'm wrong but that's what I think. :P

The wands were left at Ilvemory because of Rappaport's Law, which was mentioned by Newt and Grindlewald in the first fantastic beasts movie and the effects are more prominently shown in the second one. Rappaport's law was put into effect because of a no-maji Bartholomew Barebone who was a decendant of a scourer and the ancestor of Mary Lou, who keeping that in mind Tina should have been hailed as a hero for attacking. I'm Slytherin and Thunderbird. I am starting to sense a pattern...
Interesting how Ilvermorny has a house like Ravenclaw (Horned Serpent), one like Hufflepuff (Pukwudgie), and two like Gryffindor (Wampus and Thunderbird). No clearly evil-leaning house there...or perhaps the dark arts could spring up in any house and would have to be equally resisted by all four?

I am a ravenbird (Ravenclaw/thunderbird) and I agree that a favorite flavor of pie is not the best way to choose a school color but it does turn out to be a good match with blue. Also I am currently making like an Ilvermorny fan fiction that is supposed to be my diary as an Ilvermorny student, witch I can give to my hp fan friends, and so far it is really fun because there isn’t much canon on the school itself so I can use my imagination.

[House Selection and the difficulties it comes with]:
Like with my Hogwarts house I don't think I'd be an easy to sort person. The quiz put me in Gryffindor, but I far more easily fit into Hufflepuff, yet still could also work well in Slytherin, while I used to think I was a Ravenclaw I'm pretty sure that's not the case anymore, as once I understood what Hufflepuff represented, I strongly gravitated towards the badger house. I adore cooking for others, and giving gifts genuinely makes me happy. My favorite class in Hogwarts would have been potions, especially if Snape were the teacher, I don't like laid back teachers, and his aggressive teaching style would have been perfect for someone like me. Respect to Slitherin, they really get a bad rap, I blame Umbridge.
But with Ilvermorny, as an American myself my interest is peaked, as I've said, I could have easily been in any house asside from Ravenclaw, but my real talent would be in Hufflepuff. Thus this is my conclusion.
[Ilvermorny]:
I would be in Pukwudgie house, but I would easily get along with members of the horned serpent, and Wampus houses. (I'm your guy for cross-house parties and get togethers), I'd work to craft potions that improve health and mental acuity for use in certain pastry dishes which are served at the party. (school approved of course), My specialty would be potions, but I would also devote time into transfiguration, and muggle studdies(if you wanna cook, you need to know the booring stuff too...I'd hate this class but gotta put nose to grindstone anyways), Herbology would also be a major interest to me.
My temper has allways been an issue with me, in my school days it sometimes led me to violent and aggressive action, but if I had been in a better school, I truly believe this would never have been an issue, that said, in years 1-3 of Ilvermorny I fully expect I would be bullied due to my rather shy nature, I had a tendency to believe myself unfortunate and took on a defeatest attitude for no good reason, to the detriment of my otherwise tallented capabilities, I have often been called a genious by those who know me, and yet a fool by those who don't, I'm not at all interested in sports even now, and would be a dedicated indoor student in my early years, with a special attention to the artistic practices of my classes. I would have few friends, but they would be adamantly dear to me, in their defense I would move the mountains, but in my own defense, I would fall as a castle made of sand.
With extreme dedication, I would succeed in brewing the Animegus potion in my third(or fourth depending on luck) year, taking the form of a horned serpent, my studies into transfiguration may have something to do with this, I am ludicrously patient, and the idea of excessive waiting to achieve the animegus results does not bother me(can litterally bide my time for a whole year if need be IRL, been like this since about ten years old). My Patronus shape is up for debate but I don't think I would've been able to cast the charm at all during my school days without help from a more gifted student, that said, post graduation I would find it came in the shape of a common house spider connected on a single thread to a long thin tree sapling which twists about like a finely groomed bonzai, both pieces are a part of the patronus. The reason I couldn't use the Patronus charm would be due to my extreme depression, I litterally would not be able to fight dementors at all, but later in life I have developed a near divine perspective on the world that allowed me to overcome my depression.
And with this the dark has become my friend rather than my fear, or rather fear itself has become friend to me, it is okay to be afraid of something, that makes what you fear no less deserving of kindness than you yourself.
[Graduate]:
My claim to fame would be multipart, firstly I would develop a pastry brand that enhances ones mental aptitude with no long term side effects, allowing one to snack on them constantly without issue(a problem I would spend three years overcoming in school), the teachers of the world rejoice, pie that boosts your grades, the standard flavor must be apple, strawberry rubharb, or blueberry. My second achievement would be in the development of better ovens, using the funds from my pastry endeavor, I'd improve first my own ovens to better produce the pastry en mass, and then form a contract with an oven making company to capitalize on that achievement. And third, I would invest some currency into a side hobby of mine, the creation of fashionable magic staves, one of which I would carry for most of my life bearing a rams head which later would feature golden adornments. (You can see why I said I'd make a pretty good Slitherin.)
I would consider becoming an Ilvermorny Teacher at some point but most likely I'd stop by seasonally for a special class or two and to give speeches on the application of ones tallents to better the wizarding world as a whole, bit of encouragement on selflessness and generosity but also emphasizing the need to care for ones self, that being too generous can leave one quite litterally spent. Stating the virtues of patience and practice, and a firm warning on the animegus potion, enforcing extreme caution when attempting it.
