Well done on your journey and taking a big step into driving massive road trains in WA. You’re an inspiration for female truck drivers to get into the industry. Keep up the great videos and good on @merkanooka haulage for giving you a job.
Thank you for sharing your journey. It's amazing to listen to your story and watch you gain knowledge and experience.. well done! Keep climbing that mountain...👌
I love the humble confidence you have. My oldest stepson is 27 and shows this kind of self belief. He's in FIFO atm. The youngest daughter at 21 off to Europe. Something stirs in me to see young ones thriving. Thanks for recording your thoughts and goals. You never know who might be inspired.
Well done you CJ,you must be very proud of yourself and what an inspiring story you’ve shared for all to view, hope your luck continues to be positive, take care 👍🏻👍🏻
Absolutely fantastic, so glad you made the effort to film and to share! An inspiration to not just the ones in your industry but for those in others to really seek and find, and yes feel respected. Keep up the great work CJ!!! Looking forward to more content!
Welcome to WA CJ! Yep, been a hot summer this year over here, which has even tested many west Aussies. It is usually very hot and dry in summer, but this last summer was just a tad hotter and drier than normal, and this summer will be roughly 6 months long. It started in October, gave us a mild Christmas, but then whammo came the extra heat. Glad to see you overcame your fear of the manual gearbox. Once you get used to them, you end up changing them like they are an auto box anyway. Proficiency comes with practice. So, enjoy your stay. Maybe take one or a few of your weeks off to come down south and explore other parts of WA. Thanks for sharing and it would be good to see some video of the trucks you drive and how you operate them.
Well done CJ iv been meaning to watch this one for a while and you’ve done really well inspiring people all over the place great job, on a different note I just ordered a DJI osmo pocket to try and be a bit creative lol on the road I’m only little fuller HC and always thinking on a change to go bigger see what happens but you keep doing the great job and I’ll keep getting inspired 👍👍
Good on ya. I started a new life around mid december as well. doubts and concerns were rife, we doing good today... on ya for taking the step to own your life.
Great video! Some large trolleys your wheelin there. Don’t worry about swapping cogs. I hadn’t driven at all for 5 years until a month ago, western Qld straight to brisvegas peak hour, just like riding a bike with the gear stick. Never forget.
I drove an older FH16 460 recovered with a 600 cumulonimbus & by christ it pulled harder than a ...well you know , anyways untold torque made for a very easy drive , very real feel under the slippers , eyes up & keep the rubber side down ..out !.
For hydration I've got it checked. Be preparded to foot the bill though. The best electrolyte power is endura rehydration. The 2kg tubs from chemist warehouse. That wasnt enough so i added salt tables (you loose sodium when you sweat). Plus I added scoops of pure carbs. Carb + from Bulk Nutrients in tassie express shipping. I do 2 salt tabs to 1.5l of water plus 3 endura scoops and 2 carb scoops. Cliff bars are also good for hydration. They contain salt and don't sit in your stomach like other bars and bloat ya. Same with the drink I make. I make up about 4 of those 1.5l bottles a day.
Love the vid CJ, just awesome to see you take on the next chapter of this journey and learn and overcome challenges that come with it! Really enjoyed the video diary style and look forward to more in the future. Keep being Amazing🤙
Wow almost 5 months of content in one jam packed episode. So many things to respond to, but the easier comment is just come on down here to Victoria and tow a single. A lot less hassle and you can get into more places ha ha. Nice one I’m glad the move worked out well
you can go drive truck in WA up in the Pilbara and cleared $100k+, if you smart, you can can do it for 5 years and save more than 100k+ per year. you can retire as early as 50 or even earlier depend on your financial circumstances.
Well done! Its not what you earn that matters, its what you dont spend! To ensure your savings are productive, use your time off to read as much as you can about investing, that may be shares (ETFs) or investment properties etc, set yourself up for the future.
Congratulations on your channel, I enjoyed it a lot. Can you buy yourself a personal collar microphone. The sound would be so much better. Look forward to your adventures 👍
Thanks for the feedback! Yeah I think I’ll have to get one. I got a little vlog microphone cover for the GoPro (what I film on) but it doesn’t seem to work as well as I was hoping. Most of my filming I put music over so I didn’t think I needed one but once I pulled this footage together I realised that will probably be a good little investment. Thanks again for your constructive feedback :)
I've driven over a dozen transmission combinations with 3 sticks even but I'd probably be the laughing stock trying to shift with my left hand driving on the right side of the cab lol. I drove a mini truck from Japan once with right hand drive and a 5 spd and that was quite the experience. My passenger had a good laugh.
So what truck do you drive with Merkanooka? The Moth? All those exercises you have to do for the medical is all BS its not related to truck driving. Do you Fifo from SA to Morawa? or where in the mine site for Merkanooka?
This was all about me thinking of changing jobs to go to Merkanooka. I started recording in November and then ended up starting with them in the January :)
I’ve driven the Moth but it’s not ‘my’ truck. The main driver for that is kiwi :) I’m jumping around the different sites at the moment just gaining as much experience as I can. Yeah I’m fifo from Adelaide to WA
there is a saying nothing ventured nothing gained . congratulations on all your achievements. on wards and up wards only one person that can stop you now that is your self.
