    I like the concept of the video, but this was hardly a "HOW TO" video, but more of a "here are some examples we chose... and WHY." And Mr. Combatant Gentleman CEO, your shirt sleeves are FAR too short...

      I thought the same, he speaks fast and doesn't properly annunciate. And using the word "dropping" to announce a new line they are introducing is juvenile. Turns me off from supporting his business.

      he's not going to tell you how to get a suit and tie, you just pick them up from a store or order them online lol. And he basically did that for you in the beginning with the advertisment for combatant men on how to get a suit, ties and shirts. Also, the video tells you how to pick suit, shirt and tie combos if you were listening..

      if you want to go simple just a black tie but if you want maybe a tie with 3 different colors like sky blue white and black it can be checkered or striped you want your tie to stick out from your shirt and for pocket square try to get it with the same colors but if you cant find it just get a skyblue pocket square. for you shoes caramel or tan shoes is the way to go

    What about green or brown suits?

    • @ONITru7h
      @ONITru7h 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For green you wanna go cream and earthy colors.
      For brown, if you're not too comfortable with mix and matched colors, try blue. I have a brown sport coat I match with my blue shirt, brown tie, jeans and brown wing tipped shoes and brown belt. You can mix it up by throwing in a pocket square that's maroon or orange(rust or a muted orange, unless you're pretty brave.)

    • @MegaDman42
      @MegaDman42 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Aldiron Thanks. I have a sort of weird suit though. It's shiny and sort of a brownish greenish sort of color. I tend to like the way yellow (not bright yellow, more of a muted yellow) shirts and bright yellow bow ties go with it, and I get compliments from some fashionable people I know when I wear it. Personally, I know how to dress a brown or green suit, but I asked mainly because they didn't cover it in the video.

    My Two Cents: Rather than focus on color or pattern matching. The real mark of a well suited man is proportion. Mainly, making sure your suit lapels, collar "ears" and tie are all about the same width. There is nothing more telling of a unpolished gentleman than mismatched lapel-collar-tie widths. Secondly, making sure your shirt sleeves are just a bit longer than your jacket's sleeves. I like about half an inch, but up to one inch is is acceptable. Lastly, pants should almost always be hemmed. I prefer getting my pants cuffed with no break, which means my pants hit at shoe level. There is no extra fabric to slouch forward or back. Recently, getting your pants hemmed a little higher (to shoe skin or sock) was in fashion, but that look will eventually fade away, and you'll be left with a suit that looks like a child should be wearing it, not a gentleman.

    • @JBBaird715
      @JBBaird715 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Aditya Pramanta S.P.L Generally it is done that way but it is not a necessity.
      Think gray suit with black shirt. So long as the color's don't clash, and the suit coordinates well, there's absolutely no reason why you couldn't do it that way, should you want to.

      I believe he has no good sewing skills and did not learn it in a professional taylor environment. I would not chose this company for buying a suit if I was a man. His own suit does not look good and that has nothing to do with the fact that he is overweight. There are plenty of overweight politicians and businessmen who wear fantastic, well fitting suits, taylored for their body type.

Thirdly, AC also has a bespoke clothing shop - this AoM video unfortunately gives me the impression of nothing more than an advert for this particular clothing store (which I have nothing against, but this is not an instructional - so it shouldn't be window dressed as one)

      Because it's "quick" to manufacture. they have already used that material for the tie and since they already have that material they make a pocket square to go with it. It is possible though to find sets that compliment rather than match.

      Could you explain me how a strip of fabric makes you a ''gentleman''?And who are YOU who can decide who is and who isn't a gentleman?A shallow man who stays focused on the clothes?Clothes doesn't make you a gentleman but calm demeanor, intellectual thinking, polite behaviour,etc Some of these you will never have no matter how many fancy and expensive suits you buy.

      ***** I did a bit of research on this, and wearing a necktie does have bit of benefit scientifically. The somewhat phallic shape of a tie can be attributed to masculinity, since when not wearing a jacket the necktie points toward the crotch. Also, it's one of the few pieces of formal wear which is acceptable for someone to customize in many different colors, patterns, etc. Adding that dash of color to normally conservative clothing adds more personality and vibrancy to your outfits. I can understand why neckties seem like a pointless accessory, but there is no denying that it adds much more variety to a man's wardrobe. If you can come up with something better, myself and all of the men in the world would love to know.
