Comic rabbit holes are the best. That’s when the mail comes and you get big little books, cereal premiums, books on tape, and newspaper strips. To me a first comic appearance has to meet these requirements:: 1- panels 2-word bubbles 3-has to be in a bound volume (news paper strips I do not count)
Tyroc made his first appearance in Superboy & The Legion of Super-Heroes #216. Nice video as always.
I got my copy of that New Yorker issue after watching Rickey's video as well. Found it on Etsy. But... there's an earlier issue, can't remember the date off the top of my head, that has a little girl jump-roping under a street light at night. That cartoon features a sort of proto-Wednesday, I think. The characters weren't fully developed at first. They kind of coalesced into a family as the show was being made. But yeah, a book published by a Chas Addams historian mentions that cartoon, and later, Addams remade that cartoon using Wednesday for his Mother Goose book. So I hunted that one down, too.

It's hard to find Big Little Books in decent shape.
Betty Boop stsrted out as an anthropomorphic French poodle in her first animated appearances as was created as a girlfriend for Bimbo the pup. Bimbo the pup was created as a sidekick for Koko the clown. After Betty was changed into a flapper girl based on the Hollywood star Clara Bow --the "It Girl"--she became rhe breakout cartoon star and Bimbo rhe pup and Koko the clown became her sidekicks.

I don't have the 1st Spirit from the Spirit Section. But I have the Police Comics 1st appearance of the Spirit.
