Check out the official trailer for the cult classic Class of 1984. Grab the new Collector's Edition Blu-ray at www.shoutfacto...
The teachers at Lincoln High have a very dangerous problem… their students!
Andrew Norris (Perry King, Lipstick, Mandingo), an idealistic and naive music teacher, has moved into a new community with his pregnant wife, Diane (Merrie Lynn Ross, General Hospital), only to find his new job is an academic abyss. Appalled by the crime-infested school, Norris soon crosses paths with its teenage kingpin, the shrewd and sadistic Peter Stegman (Timothy Van Patten, Catacombs, Zone Troopers). With Norris setting his sights on reforming Stegman and the young punk declaring war on his teacher, the duo is on a collision course for a fateful showdown.
Directed and co-written by Mark L. Lester (Class of 1999, Commando, Firestarter), Class of 1984 is one of the seminal cult movies of the early 1980s. While its vision of a decaying, violence-plagued inner city school seemed over the top in 1982, it sadly prophesied the future of American education. With an original story and screenplay co-written by genre veteran Tom Holland (Fright Night, Child's Play, Psycho II, The Beast Within), the film is also notable for its great cast, which includes Lisa Langlois (Deadly Eyes, The Nest), Roddy McDowall, Stefan Arngrim (Fear No Evil) and Michael J. Fox in an early role.

To make a movie about a dystopian future and set it two years in that future takes some real balls.

Not long ago I watched this movie just because of Alice Cooper's song, which is one of my favourite of this singer. I didn't expect much of the movie, but I liked the way the plot goes in it - the music teacher, originally a very calm person, fights alone against this outrageous school gang, - so I can say that I liked this movie very much. Also due to "Class of 1984" I became interested in Perry King's work. To say about the trailer, it is really not the best example of how the film should be advertised, because all the plot is too clear (even some really scary moments are shown).

@@nonconformist4439 child labor laws. Actual teenage actors can only work a certain number of hours at certain times of day/night. Its much cheaper and efficient to employ adults who kind of look like teenagers. Particularly with low budget movies like this that have a very short production time. Sexual and violent content is a factor as well. There's plenty of movies where underage kids are involved in scenes that are "inappropriate for children", but parents and guardians have to be involved. With legal adults, all of those extra costs and inconveniences are cut.

brilliant film, but I really don't think Alice Cooper's song is being taken in quite the right way. "I am the future" is an allegorical statement--if the future could talk and address us in the present, that is what it would say. "Take a look at my face, I am the future" does not mean, "Hey, check it out, I'm in a gang and I'm taking over this town."

Pellicola molto bella, la pellicola è godibile e dal ritmo coinvolgente, fino ad arrivare ad un finale duro e violento, la pellicola è ispirata da diverse storie vere di violenza scolastica di cui il regista aveva letto sui giornali.

As a Child in 1984, I have always been confused why 1984 looked more Wasteland Punk Futuristic than 1994. In 1984, I was used to seeing Early Gen X/ Forgotten Generation, and late Baby Boomers dressing like this Futuristic form in the mid 80s, when I was a Toddler, then it Stopped in the States.

This movie kinda reminds of the events that happens today worldwide with the youth being brainwashed and claims to be awoke for the ecological purpose but doesn't even know what they're talking about . Many of todays youth wants only the Hippie revival is all and it smells like that since 2005 because the generations of hack then never did and cared for a future , thats the real fact .
Proof again that many 70's, 80's to mid 90's movies were ahead of it's times and were visionaries to what would happen today to it's decadence .

lol that "white privilege" thing is just an excuse in reality . Wondering why before the 2000's everything and everyone was good and acted like adults and were normal . But since 2005 people are stupid for the mots of them , alot are doing it on purpose to be ignorants and too many people are reading history they cannot figure out it was the "past" ans thus we cannot repair what has been done but make it better somehow .
Look how far the farce comedy goes with the 7th art ( cinema) with " Gone with the Wind" a movie that tells the truth from were the movie is set North&South so i don't know why it is racist ? Is beyond me .
People are seeking all what is bad sadly . If some people are too sensitive about a certain movie, music or book there's one thing simple to do "Don't Watch/Listen/Read It" as easy as that .

My first thought about this movie is a light casual 80s teen movie..
You know, a troubeled student but with a great potential, so the teacher would come close at him, understand his problem, and he's become a good guy..
But good god this movie was disturbing af.. Especially with all the rape mumbo jumbo
