What’s that sweater?! Been getting that same question for 24h so have to pin it! The sweater is from the lovely folks at Team Dream! (Not affiliated) teamdreambicyclingteam.com Go and show them some love 🙌
Nice frame, homie. I do feel terribly sad for weight weenies like you and the inevitable shift to disc brakes. Just like New Coke in the 1980s, bike brands have released the new formula...and in a few years they will rerelease the original formula rim brakes frames renamed "Pro" only models and costing $18,000 for the same shit we rode 5 years ago. Oh wait. Specialized is already doing it.
Oh what a pleasant surprise to see my bikegeocalc webhack being used by my favourite bike youtuber :-). Regarding tire clearance, I have noted that the same bike model in different sizes can have different tire clearance, if the chainstays is the narrowest point (which it often is). I have a Cannondale CAADX size 54, and my brother has the exact same model in size 51. His frame actually has a couple of millimeters more tire clearance than mine, despite the smaller size. The reason being how the chainstays are shaped, his size has a bit shorter chainstays and therefore wider opening near the bottom bracket. So if one is pushing the tire clearance limit and researching on the internet what people get into their bikes it could be worthwhile to check which frame size they are using too, at least if the chainstays are the limit. The fork should be exactly the same, and I think that seatstays are usually less variable than chainstays between frame sizes. Another thing about chainstay limit is that they are usually slightly asymmetric with less space on the drive side. So in one of my bikes where I have pushed the limit I have actually dished the rear wheel 1 mm to the left, which is small enough to not be noticable in handling, but may give you that crucial extra mm, so I got 3mm clearance on both sides rather than 4 + 2mm, which does make a small difference if it is a bit muddy or if you get a spoke failure. I also consider it much safer to push the limit in the rear wheel than in the front wheel, as a dragging wheel in the rear after a spoke failure is much less likely to cause a crash than the same thing in the front wheel.
I was really curious why the Emonda was chosen over other frames on the market. Thank you for sharing it and enjoy that new ride. Nothing like new bike day... though new wheel day is pretty good... So is new extra lite bottle cage day to I guess haha
I can understand waiting for a custom frame can suck, but getting a custom frame in the mail after months of waiting that is built to your exact specifications is one of the best feelings in the world. Riding a bike that is uniquely for you and that no one else has is great too :)
wow - nice colour, look forward to the build. My Mason Bokeh frame arrived yesterday, hoping to start its build over the festive break as various parts are starting to arrive.
I love how well thought out your choices are. Thanks for sharing all the details, and pertinent information. Your new steed is going to be sensational, congratulations!
The lovely irony for me is I just took delivery of a [matt grey] Open U.P. frame and am feeling blessed + excited about building a x1 GRX Di2 / 650B bike in large part inspired by RoJ and already have x2 Treks (a 2014 Madone and 2017 Domane] - heading back to review some of you awesome vids from 1-2 years ago...Happy Riding in 2021
The Open is still with me and I have no intention of letting it collect dust... but it will be used more for what’s it’s designed for. Enjoy you new steed 👌
@@ridesofjapan if I can get parts for my build, I will! I don't have access to spectacular mountains like you do but am looking forward to getting off the tarmac into the English hills when I can.
Great opening video showcasing the frame. Pro level 👍 Love the colour choice. While aethos may be lighter, definitely can’t go wrong with Emonda. Look forward to the fully built up bike. Enjoy the process!
Not a much a fan of the Trek line-up personally, but that's one juicy paint job. 100% agree that it is the most important part of the bike. Can't be shiny enough.
Hello. I do not subscribe or comment on TH-cam videos but I just wanted to say that your intro was absolutely beautiful. I replayed the intro multiple times before watching the video, then once finished I watched the intro once more.. You are very deserving of that colorway! I have a Giant Trance with a Blue Chamelon colorway and it's dangerous, it's a real neck turner!
Wouldn’t call it repping. But I’ve always loved Team dream, and one of my biggest regrets was selling one of there early jerseys I had a couple of years ago... impossible to get now 😔
Love your content, really good an entertaining. Keep it up! Halfway through you video I was think "I wonder what parts will he put in the frame...." Then I I saw the links to the other video. Gotta go watch now!
Beeeeaaauuutiful colour, my friend. Now the big question is....do you need to buy new kit to match? Excellent choice. Can’t wait to see the big smile on your face after the first ride. 😉👍
any bike you like to ride is a good bike! if you are happy with that frame, it fits your bill. I wouldn’t give a flying f*** about what others say. keep it up with your artsy work!
get a "seatpost" from english cycles custom made realy thin with a braze on clamp it looks so clean. Or maby berk can make you some custom magic carbon post.
Great choice ! Nice bike, exept for the seatpost. I am most interested in how the stem & headset are going to look. Some of these new bike with semi- integrated cabling really have a complicated construction ! Good luck, thanks for sharing.... AND,,, merry christmas !
Gawddammit, you are again killing it with intro cinematography 😍 Honestly, I don’t really appreciate your choice but I wish you best of luck and much fun with the upcoming build. Cheers!

South Pasadena!
One of the best looking colour ways in the entire Emonda line up.
A man of culture and good taste.
Well done!
like it! 🤙
This mans intro is so good it makes me think it was a trek ad
Trek wishes it was their ad
Such a beautiful into, isn't it?
That intro was art.
🙏

OOOHHH i'm on the video with my Festka Scalatore comment! Made my day!!
Same. It’s a nice little connection to him isn’t it.
It's addicting to build your own bike. No wonder you don't have a "forever" bike. I hope you find your one and only.

„There‘s my taste, and there‘s the wrong taste.“ 😂🏆
the trek emonda with the mindblowing klein paintjob - it is a supernice!
I was just about to say "Reminds me of a Quantum Pro"
Lovely paint job
Trek is one of my favourite mainstream brands. The bontrager stuff is also pretty nice.
Love the color on that Emonda!
I saw the trek video you did as well... was a good reference for picking color ;)
@@ridesofjapan They have a lot of really good color options. My wife loved that bike, so I hope she doesn't see this video LOL
I love your videos and am excited for your new project (for both our sakes!). That paint job is beautiful. So happy for you. YOLO!
Thank you for sharing! 🤩
Beautiful job on the Trek and thanks so much for the fitting site recommendations!

That is an absolutely beautiful color and I can’t wait to see it in the sunlight. Thanks for sharing 🍻
“There’s my taste, then there’s the wrong taste”...gold.
Gorgeous frame and zen reasoning, look forward to the build👍
I came looking for this comment. Wasn't it BRILLIANT.
@@tomahoks it was👍

Great Choice Tobias! Can't wait for the build vid. Stay healthy! Have a great Christmas and a happy new year!
Gorgeous colour and intro video! Thanks for the shout out :)
Deeply enjoy your videos. Keep it up, Sir!
Dude just two damn thumbs up 🤘🏻🤓
Nice frame! Can't wait to see the final build. Good luck!
Just wanted to say thanks. Your videos are helpful and enjoyable to watch - well done in every way.
Cheer mate! Happy to hear that!
Brilliant frame, very excited to see the full build. Really fantastic info on the geometry comparison sites as well, thank you!
Top tips on the geometry websites!!!
Bikegeocalc is a bit fiddly though, but I guess that is more down to the accuracy of the manufacturers information than anything else...
Beautiful Emonda SLR. I have it too and it is my favorite bike to ride!
Not a much a fan of the Trek line-up personally, but that's one juicy paint job. 100% agree that it is the most important part of the bike. Can't be shiny enough.
What a beauty! Congrats!
Love purple
Congrats on the new frame!!
I was more excited about this than for Christmas!
I think the frame is really pretty! Great video!
nice, I had an s-works tarmac in similar chameleon colour way... very nice, and yes especially in the sunlight!

Congratz on your new frame! It looks awesome and can't wait to see it built up in your upcoming videos!
I think we all need an Emonda SLR was coming, but WOW that looks amazing!
Awesome bike. Enjoy the build! I just completed building a 6.8kg Trek Crockett cyclocross race bike. Took some of your advise on parts.
Never felt an attraction to a bike before, but I have to say that opening scene had me going.
I really want to see it complete, really nice bike!!!!!!
Ive ordered the slr with exactly the same reasoning you did. You're a legend 🙌
Rides of Japan reppin’ Team Dream!? Whaaaaat!
Wouldn’t call it repping. But I’ve always loved Team dream, and one of my biggest regrets was selling one of there early jerseys I had a couple of years ago... impossible to get now 😔
That was my pick! The T47 BB was the giveaway for me.
Great looking frame colour and the new T47 BB is meant to be robust. Looking forward to seeing it built.👍
Beautiful colour!
Love the colour(s)! It's exactly what I would choose for myself.
wow the intros is amazing
nice! Looking forward to the build video(s). Peace!

Welcome to team E’monda!
Wow that paint job 😮
Beeeeaaauuutiful colour, my friend.
Now the big question is....do you need to buy new kit to match?
Excellent choice. Can’t wait to see the big smile on your face after the first ride. 😉👍
Trying no to be too matchy matchy when it comes to bike and kit... not to mention the wallet will be pretty dusty until the summer season I reckon ;)
sliiiiickkkk bike! looking forward to seeing what you're going to do with it!
Awesome. Congrats!
Nice! I guess I have exquisite taste! :) that trek color way is so cool! And that into was lit!
I just picked up a 2022 Emonda SLR 7 with this paint job and it is 👌
As a Trek Emonda owner with almost this same paint job, I approve! My Emonda has the Emerald Iris color which is similar.
Totally understand the 2nd minute of this video. Just ordered a Project One mountain bike. LOL
Nice looking cykelram!

Love the chubby bobcat sweatshirt! Team Dream Team! The Emonda looks hot! I ride a heavy Domane! :)
'Bike insights' is very good as well
Diggin that team dream sweatshirt! Nice bike too :)
Always a fan of your content, great video!
Dude, you killed it on the intro shots.
Awesome bike it’s going to be sweet !
nice bike! might be able to squeeze some weight out of expander nut with titanium bolt? Great video production.
Love the color. Jealous of the T47 BB!
Looks beautiful, can’t wait to meet it!
