@@maggienoodles3333 Know your coding and computing terminology to a T and make sure to stick to one coding language when you're writing code (I'd recommend Python simply because it's common and it helps you get practice on actual coding platforms).
For all the theory, refer to diagrams; this helps you remember the Fetch-Decode-Execute cycles and such. Also underline any important details in the questions so that you don't miss anything important in the code such as certain parameters.

Well true that. If you go to most lessons and pay proper attention you should at least get a 4. Some people forget that it’s not completely your responsibility to learn everything on your own, that’s why we go to school 8 hours a day.
I legit did the same thing as you but tbh i ended up doing 2 hours of solid revision per paper and 6h of procrastinating, even the day before. I ended up with a 9 in maths, 3 8s and 4As. 8As and 2Bs in total.

oh my god how 😭I revised 48 hours for the only exam i did in year ten as a gcse and managed to just scrape by and get a L2D* that i was not expecting (equivalent of a 9) but i put so much work in. I wish i could just study the night before like you do 😭
Definitely attempt to get all the things you need to know in your head well in advance. Do past papers, little bits every now and then so that, the night before your exam, you'll be prepared. Good revision works differently for everyone, find what suits you best! Best of luck :)
some things work for some people and other things work for others i suppose, im in year 11 now and im just gonna go with revising hard consistently as its the safest option.
He cheesed the system (in a smart way) by just doing predicted papers which were actually really accurate for this year due to advanced info...
Man, this guy was able to convince himself to revise at all for his gcse, in impressed, I couldnt do that at all. All I did was flick through my notes the morning of the exams

Well, from what I’ve seen in the A-Level Papers, there’s more of a focus on analysing films, and producing media alongside it.
Definitely do your own research to form an opinion (I’m not doing it as an A-Level diploma), though I believe there’s less film production involved than you’d think. Hope you’ll be able to make the decision right for you!

Do you have any tips on how you got a 9 in French? French and English are the gcses im most worried abt this year because they just seem so.. variable? Especially because ALL the revision resources I’ve seen online for French say “Don’t cram! Study over a long period of time! You can’t cram vocabulary!” but here you are???
Hmm, some people are just naturally able to learn foreign languages with more ease than others, usually due to genetics or upbringing.
The best way to learn a language is immersion, so look at French films, TV and music, and also try to think and speak to yourself in French, which is actually a really good way to practice structure and vocab. Pay attention in lessons, take enthusiasm in learning the language, then hopefully that all pays off.

Maths: 7

How do you get a 9 in eng lit but a 6 in lang??? Lang is so much easier
Trust me, I have no idea either. Maybe they didn’t like my creative writing? Heck, my English teacher even graded it as an 8/9. I was predicted as such for English Language too.

Hmm, I'd say 7-8 hours. Regardless, I was still tired but I got there eventually!
I did well four 9 and rest 8. But still will excluse me from some medical schools. Is ok for some but not ones i went as need more 9. Some medical schools also look into gcse
Hmm, there are Cambridge students that have said that GCSEs literally don’t matter as long as A-Levels, UCAS statement and work experience are strong. As long as your GCSEs in Science are solid (which they already are) and your A-Levels especially so, then you should be fine.
I assume you’ll be doing the UCAT to get into med school, so I wish you luck if that’s the case!
@@ErolM Most medical schools dont as long as have core sciences, maths, English etc as top. However, some do look for seven grade 9's or above. Despite then only asking for A*AA or AAA at A level. In fact, there are many other degrees that ask for higher A levels than medicine at certain top Russell group universities like Imperial Mathematics, some engineering branches etc.

How did you get grade 9 in Literature?
I always did really well in Literature because I stuck to a good structure for each question. It’s 50% knowing the structure, and 50% in knowing what to write.
Analysing texts was pretty natural to me, so it’ll differ for people. Structure is almost always consistent. It would go:
1. Point - Make a *unique* point based off the question
2. Evidence - A direct or paraphrased quote from the text
3. Explain [devices] - State what language it uses to support your point, whether it be a simile or a tricolon
4. Explain [meaning] - If possible, explain its effect as a device. Think of it from the writer’s perspective and what it wants the audience to feel as a result
5. Consolidate - Wrap your point up and *ALWAYS* link it back to how it answers the original question. It keeps your arguments consistent and also your marks high.
BONUS TIP 1: Know your device terminology. It helps a lot in getting your point across in a sophisticated manner.
BONUS 2: ALWAYS keep track of time. Keep the waffle to a minimum if possible because the minutes count.
It’s mostly a game of “practice makes perfect”, as well as some wrist athletics to keep on time.

Hmmmm familiarise yourself with the structure of the paper, timings, types of questions and stuff. Be active in class, whether it's asking questions or doing practice tests. If you can get all the big stuff in your head before the time pressure kicks in, then last minute revision should simply be recap. Good luck with Year 11!
