Fosho. I'm curious to know the cost in the end. How cheaper than Ben's wrecked Mclaren it will be..
I estimate two or more years of hard work but if it comes together it will be well worth it. Once a power unit is chosen then maybe a model name for the Spectra can be found and perhaps a nice subscriber can create the first bonnet badge for this beauty!
(I was lucky enough to meet Colin Chapman during my apprenticeship years) one of his better known sayings was: “if you need more speed, just add more lightness” 😊😁

You can add fiber glass resin to your bondo to thin it out. It turns it into a glazing puddy. Hopefully this helps. The car is one hell of a design.
Was thinking about doing that! Definitely a good idea. Holding off for now just in case I decide to sand back any areas. The resin is a lot harder to sand back
@@spectra.s it sands just like bondo. You don’t add the harder in the fiberglass resin. You just use the resin.

Nice build system. (B is for build have created some fenders and wheel arches using the same system very successfully). - I will be following your progress and making suggestions where I can, so live long and prosper buddy! 🙏
You can buy sheets of foam, three inches thick, four foot by two, use the expanding spray foam to glue the sheets into blocks, then use them to shape. The sheets are the same foam as the stuff out the can, but blocks are so much easier to work with.
The rear end infill of the rear bumper area would be easier sculpted from a block.
The car looks good so far.
(I used to make bodykits, if you search jbodystyles here on TH-cam you'll find the only video I made, making side skirts.)
You’re 100% right the foam boards build up a lot easier. The main reason I haven’t done that is because I don’t know 100% what I want my final shape to be. Part of the build is finding the shape I like as I go. The other side of the car will definitely be more boards

have you decided on the type of door, traditional or a gull wing (just thinking ahead to the door lines and how they will act against each other on opening), Jay does some amazing work now he is getting into CNC work, will you be getting into this too

@@spectra.s nice doors, hinged upwards on the front, lots of solid framework required to keep them rigid, accident proof etc, that will be epic to see you get your head round

My question with this stage of all diy car builds is how are the doors ,engine panel and all other hinges created if at the start its just one piece,can you help me understand please?
