I don't know the story, but this song is connected to one of my favorite animators, Edd Gould, the original animator of Eddsworld. I think of him every time I hear this song. He was such a huge part of my childhood and we(the Eddsworld fandom, his friends and family) sadly lost him to cancer...I never fully recovered from it tbh. He had made me laugh in the worst of times with his webtoon. Now, Technoblade (one of my favorite streamers) has cancer and I'm worried about the same thing happening to him.

"Please no, let hin come with us - Please!" Your wife sobbed, begging the rich man who had offered to take in one of you.
You and your wife weren't as rich, your shelter nothing compared to that of the rich neighbor you had, Mr.Williams. You hated to have to leave your wife, but it was for the best. She was pregnant, she had twins, soon to be born.
"I'm sorry my love. I wish i could. I hope to see you again," you fought the building tears that stung your eyes, retrieving a medium sized box. It was something you had worked for years on, and wanted to give it to your lover on a special occasion.
But you never thought it would be at a time like this.
The box had been decorated prettily, designed to sing for the significant other. It had a glass snow globe like top, inside was a house, trees, and a river. Snow decorated the ground of the globe, always dancing around in flurries, without needing to be shaken. Four pastel bars with pretty, yellow stars adorning the top of the bars, the sides decorated to resemble growing flowers on the side of a castle wall. On one side, it had a draw bridge. It would lower to give the recipient a candy, and a small animal figure, or a small tree, parts of a house, and more. With each piece, they woud be able to build a home, a wonderland, anything they could imagine. "But for now, take this. I love you so, so much."
You left, retreating as sirens blared in the distance. Your wife, hesitantly, retreated with Mr.Williams.
You didn't make it.
Months later, your son is born. A spitting image of you, truly.
Your wife sat silently on her bed, tears streaming down her face as she listened to the song.
"Thank you, I'll say good bye soon.." The box sang, the snow in the globe seemingly dancing along as it continued "..Though its the end of the world..Don't blame yourself, now. And if it's true, I will surround you, and Give life to a world, that is our own.." It ended, the drawbridge lowering and giving the woman a deer, beautifully designed.
"Mommy?" The children your wife had given birth to stood in the door way, and when noticed, walked in and climbed onto the bed, hugging their mom. "Mommy," one child began, the other distracted by the globe on the box. "Daddy said that he'd give life to a world that's our own..but daddy's not here, so let's do it for him! We can do it bit by bit, just for daddy."
Their mother looked at the child, gently pushing some hair behid their ear. With a fond smile, she replied, "Yes. Lets do it, just for daddy."
