Over the year's I've become more fascinated by Chanel's runway sets and backdrops rather than the clothes themselves. Recently, I don't even notice the clothes because there really isn't anything to notice. I mean, I understand tweed is Chanel's staple, and it always will be, but I don't understand why Karl doesn't use it in an innovative way. He's been making tweed blazer and skirt combos for well over a decade now. The only other designer that's been this repetitive is Elie Saab with his undying obsession for lace gowns. I just want so badly for Karl to dazzle us. He's done it before and it was amazing, I just want to see something that'll wow us again.
The nude and black shoes were divine and went with most of the collection's outfits, I especially liked the white feathered and black contrast and at the start, those glitter embellished bomber jackets, well done Chanel
I'll never love Chanel, but nobody knows their customer better than Karl Lagerfeld. There's a reason why Chanel is THE fashion giant. So classic, so primed, so French.
I loved this show. The clothes are wearable, there are lengths for every age and taste, the colors are muted, nothing flashy, lots of black and white, interesting fabrics, there are details that remind one of the before-60s fashion, it's flattering and feminine. Love the belts with 3 rows of medals dangling, and the shoes are pure Chanel. If you can buy only one pair of shoes, that's the model to buy. For once Lagerfeld gets my vote.

ok...so we are rich enough to wear Chanel's clothes to a restaurant. We looked at the menu and everything seems to be delicious. However, we need to be thin as a pencil. We ordered lettuce, ice cubes and boiled water with a pinch of salt. this collection seems so redundant. Nothing that you've seen b4. Some of the outfits hints that KL listened to Bjork's music and he was inspired by it.
Karl..........Karl..........Karl!!!! Please stop pushing those big shoulders on us. I don't think they look right to the eye, it's not time for that. Find something else about the '80s to revive, not those shoulders!! Plus, the combo with the slightly a-lined skirts..just bulky. There was a sadness to this collection I can't quite put my finger on.
It baffles me that such a genius as Karl will keep making ugly/strange closthes for an old client that doesn't exist anymore. Even older ladies want to look younger and thinner nowadays so why put them in outits that make even the models look heavier than they are. Can you imagine what an average size woman would look in those? and don't get me started on the shoes....... lol
